Kalida Kaushai had spent the last few weeks keeping a close, watchful eye on the members of the herd she had chose to associate herself with.

And she had to admit... she was not at all pleased with what she saw.

this was a new herd, she understood that, but so far they had a very weak start, very weak, to many free ideal's and differences in behaviors and beliefs, in fact she's sure none of them met eye to eye to be able to perform the necessary tasks that his herd was going to relish on.

She questioned their loyalty, there ability, and the all around evilness of their hearts. To many of them had the potential of nobility, a thought that disgusted her.
Soon would come the times of trial for them, she had called to the only greatness in the herd, the leader Moloch, to discuss the growing problem.

Kalida had kept an especially close eye on the one called Avantasia.

On more than one occasion, the serpent star and forced herself to hold back her desire to sink her horn into the other female's side, and feel the warm blood cool as it flowed down her horn and scaled face.

The female was dangerous, and not in the good way, her conning, and deceptive behavior was not being used against outside victims, but against their very leader. And Kalida would put a stop to this, even if it meant gouging the female’s very eyes out.

A slick, shiny forked tongue flicked slowly out from between Kalida’s dainty lips, extending out at an impressive length before it was zipped back in quickly, her bobbed tail still as she tromped smoothly through the territory of the Shadowed herd, golden hooves cracking the leaves and sticks below without mercy.
Her slit, oddly colored eyes scanning for any sigh of Moloch, who’s conference she had called.

Every nerve trembled with impatience, anger, and worry, but Moloch stayed well away from the meeting spot with Kalida until he had his anger well under control.

He loved Avantasia. Or something, maybe that was the word. She was his mate, though, his queen, and he would fight for her if need be. To the death. He needed heirs, too, but the thought of using such an argument sickened him. But he would use it if he had to.

Kalida didn't trust Avantasia and he wouldn't put it past her to try and kill Avantasia. She thought she was trying to manipulate him and maybe that was true, maybe he was a love blinded fool but -

No.

He would control his emotions and he would make this herd stronger and he would have heirs and they would be Avantasia's too.

Now the only thing left to do was to convince Kalida not to kill Avantasia, not to drive her out, but do it without fighting, without killing, without driving her out. For Moloch was no fool and knew perfectly well that his newfound herd was lost without her. But he had enough pride not to submit to another star and perhaps it was time to make it clear to Kalida that he welcomed her advice, but he was the ruler, not her.

But how to do that without losing her?

Moloch took a deep breath to calm his shaking nerves and headed off to the meeting spot. He felt calm, confident, assured. He had a plan, and all he had to do was to see whether or not it worked.

Golden hooves snapped sharply against the ground as she pawed to unearth the tiny plans below, she wasn’t at this act long however before her head coiled back up, eyes swerving around when her long tongue caught the unmistakable savor of her lord.

“Molooooch”
she hissed deeply, softly in a tone of respect as she turned toward where she sensed he was arriving from.
“It honors me you would grant me a private audience. But I feel we have some concerns that must be… dealt with, my lord” her snaky tone continued with the same husky hush of her throat

Her eyes flashed when she spoke, her scales almost trembling in anticipation for the gruesome thoughts she had on “what must be done” in due time Kalida… in due time old girl.

Moloch smiled, a cool steely gesture. "You are my advisor," he said simply, "and you would not summon me over some trivial matter. Now tell me of your concerns, so that we may discuss them and see what must be done."

Discuss, there's the key word... because I need those discussions, even if the final word is mine. I need to hear your thoughts, have you be honest, just as much as I need you to bow down to me. Your lord. Lord Moloch. I like the sound of that.

"The recruits disgust me" She hissed vilely, getting right to the point "I have doubts about there abilities to truly preform as the subjects you deserve"

Her tongue flicked again, turning to fully face the herd leader. "I think its time to take action to correct this" she snaked, narrowing her eyes "and weed out the unworthy, and illuminate those who would only cause trouble" she finished, lowering her voice dangerously, the slit of her pupils contracting as her blood lust rose, having a particular mare in mind.

Moloch shook his head. "Our herd is too small to survive any such culling, and they have sworn their loyalty to me. But you are right, our herd is weak. I have been overly cautious, and that has weakened us. Perhaps it would be best to do some training, to teach the herd how to fight in unison. Perhaps single combat, but only those I truly trust. And when we teach them to fight in unison, it must always be with me at the head, with them following my every mood. We must train them to be loyal subjects and loyal defenders, we must teach them to be ambitious, but only for the herd, never for my position."

"There loyalties are in question my lord" she hissed softly in response to his proposal. her ears laid back against her flaming red mane, head cocking slowly to the side in a look on contemplation "I observe lord" she started "that fffear is an intense motivator to inspire loyalty, we are few... we are weak as a whole, but give me time lord Moloch, and I will devise an initiating test that will make the underlings bow to your will, bow in fear of wrath for betrayal, but the great reward that there loyalty will bring."

Moloch nodded. "That is indeed a wise plan, although fearful subjects are more prone to betrayal. Still... they shall never love me, nor do I wish them too." With an exception or two, he added to himself. "Fear is a good route for now, but we must tread carefully. I would have respect mixed in with the fear, and the belief that only I can lead them to victory. The respect will take a while to acquire, but we must not scare them so badly that they run before they have a chance to respect me. Although if they run, then they are not worthy of my leadership, and they are weaker than I thought.

"Yes. Your plan is excellent, I give you free reign over designing such a test."
