Jess and Kamira walked along in the museum, Jess smiling as Kamira gawked up at the ancient Egyptian statues, awestruck. It was nice to know that she found this kind of thing interesting, as Jess did as well. Being able to share another interest with her daughter was great, seeing as it was helping them bond even closer.

As they strolled through the museum, Bernard felt a bit like a tour guide. He had been to this particular museum several times before, and knew a fair bit about the various cultures and artifacts it housed. But the three who were with him took everything they saw as new and amazing. It was, he admitted, a bit fun to watch. Or would be, if he weren't still in shock over suddenly having three dependants to worry about.
Holding Zwei with her left hand and Teyr with her right, Ennea followed closely behind Bernard. She had been to the museum once before, but only briefly. She was just as awed by everything as the boys were, and every few seconds she would stop to point and whisper to them. As they passed an enormous sarcophagus, she paused and let go of Zwei's hand to point at the carvings on one side. "People," she said softly. "Egypt people."
Zwei quickly took the advantage of the situation and slithered away. He wasn't especially interested in big statues of dead people. However, there had been a display of Egyptian weapons a ways back, and he did want a closer look at that.
At first, Teyr was content following and watching. But as soon as he saw that Zwei was gone, he began to tug at Ennea's hand. He didn't want to be left alone, albeit alone with other people! In his thrashing, he accidentally bumped into someone behind him, and fell over.

Kamira was nearly squished as a person in front of her fell over, prevented from the apportioned fate by Jess quickly blocking the path of falling. She steadied the falling boy in front of her, a smile on her face.
"Whoops. I think that one might have been our fault."
Kamira saw the tip of a reptilian tail swish around the corner, its scales rasping against the marble tiles. This was an interesting thing, so she followed behind it, wondering what the owner of the tail could be.

Teyr wobbled as the lady helped him stand, and quickly backed away, shaking his head. It wasn't her fault, it was definitely his. "'m sorry," he said quickly. "Sorry sorry sorry."
Coming up behind Teyr, Ennea grabbed his hand again. "Sorry too," she stated simply, bowing her head. She saw that Teyr, watching, followed her example and bowed too. "Not hurt?" she asked them both, just to make sure everyone was okay.
In such a short amount of time, Zwei had only managed to get to the first case of weapons, a display of Egyptian sword replicas. They were all different, some with curving blades, others with straight ones. He pressed his nose against the glass, trying to get a better look. He wasn't sure what it was about swords that he liked, but the few that his "grandfather" had showed him had quickly caught his interest, and he was already comparing them to the ones in the case. He was so distracted that he didn't notice anyone who might be behind him.

"We're fine on this end, aren't we, Kamira?" Jess said reassuringly, looking down to her daughter.
Who wasn't there.
Kamira sneaked stealthily around the corner, catching sight of the tail's owner at last. She gasped softly, having never seen a snake person before...especially not one with hair as cool as that.

So the woman was okay, at least. Ennea nodded and knelt down to check on Teyr. "Teyr okay too?"
Teyr was shaking a little, and he kept mouthing the word "sorry," but when Ennea spoke to him, he took a deep breath and nodded. Nothing was hurt, he was just upset.
That was a relief, but it seemed that the woman was missing someone. Come to think of it... "Zwei?" Ennea called, turning around. But he wasn't there either.
The swords were distracting, but Zwei did hear the gasp from behind him and whirled around. He was a bit worried about it being a guard or a grown-up, but it was a girl. Older than he was, but not someone who would boss him around, he hoped. Still, he waited to see what she wanted.

Jess looked around for anywhere Kamira might have gone, getting close to freaking out. I mean, Kamira was her baby! Her little girl! And she had already gotten offers from a few complete and utter asinine fools to buy her for a sideshow....did maybe one of them actually have the gall to try and kidnap her?
Kamira blinked as the snake boy turned around. She really didn't know what to do here, as this would be a first-time encounter. And she hadn't really met a lot of boys, either. In fact, she only knew three, and all of them had been nice and easy enough to get along with.

Positively panicking, Teyr pulled at Ennea's hand and tried to get her to help him look. He wasn't afraid of anything happening to Zwei; the little time they had spent together had convinced him that Zwei could take care of both of them. And that was precisely the problem.
Ennea had her hands full trying to console Teyr, but she did look up at Jess with some concern. "Missing?" she asked. Zwei was missing as well, and she was concerned, but she didn't really know what to do. Bernard had never prepared her for this.
It was then that she noticed that in all the confusion, Bernard had vanished as well. Letting out a sharp cry, Ennea sank to the floor. If he was gone, what was she supposed to do?
She wasn't speaking. What did that mean? Zwei folded his arms and waited, but still nothing came. If she didn't want anything, why was she watching? Finally he couldn't take it anymore. "What?" he asked sharply.

"Yeah...I don't know where she went!" Jess poked her head down a few corridors nearby, calling Kamira's name. She whirled around as she heard a noise come from the other woman. She walked over to her side and slid to a sitting position next to her.
"What's the problem?" Jess asked, still nervous about Kamira, but if she had heard her voice, then her daughter would come.
"Well, you're really cool looking, that's all." Kamira said sheepishly, shuffling a foot. She turned her head at the sound of her mother's voice, calling her. She had to go...but this new boy was so interesting!

Teyr couldn't take it anymore. With Ennea sufficiently distracted by her own distress, he finally pulled free of her and started to wander the aisles. He didn't call, but clasped his hands tightly and hoped he would find Zwei, or even Bernard, soon. Being separated felt awful.
Trembling, Ennea put her hands over her eyes. If she couldn't see, she could pretend that Bernard was still there. She barely even noticed the other woman; on her own, she was barely able to function. "'Cosa," she whined loudly. "'Cosa!"
Kamira's grammar was definitely better than Zwei's, but he could at least he could understand her vocabulary... sort of. "Not cold," he insisted. If he admitted to being chilly, Ennea would try to put him in clothes again. But more importantly... "Who you?"
