okay the TL Hanna Band went to a contest today, we did AWSOME i really think it's the best we've ever done, then we end up loosing!
every other school, AND the crowd goes "BOOOOOOOO!!!"
i was like stressed "THIS IS THE SECONED TIME s**t LIKE THIS HAS HAPPENED!!!"
((it happend 2 weeks ago when we lost by a TENTH of a point! how dumb is that?!))
anywho, i'm pissed about it...and i'll bet that half the band will try to get the director to Email the judges and stuff...
personally i think that some judge has a grudge ((HA! it rymes)) against TLHB...
crying it sucks....

Losing or getting second? You should feel bad if it's by a tenth of a point. We got second to Sioux Falls-Lincoln at a really tough competition this year, after a perfect record last year and, in all of our competitions before than, a perfect record this year. And, I'll admit: I was upset, because A) it had been a good performance for us, B) I didn't get to see them perform, so I didn't know if they actually earned it, and C) I didn't know the scores. I later found out they beat us by three tenths of a point. And then I saw them perform. They earned it. They should have beaten us by more than that.
Remember, as much fun as it is, winning isn't everything. And obviously it was really close, so you should feel good about that.

i feel bad for saying this but, our school has a record for winning first/grand prize in all of our competitions. but as MorielTelperien said, winning isnt everything.
last year we went to the atlanta competition and we were almost every award.... 0.0 the bad part is that the band that hated us the most (the smurfs. they were wearing blue shirts) were on the floor above us in the hotel. they stomped as much as they could and didnt let us sleep. *bastards*

I know how you feel, this year LMHS had the best show in our division and because all the judges were on crack and couldn't put black widow with aracniphobia with show Phobia, and if they did love the show they still gave us crap scores, now that is a grudge. ok, so heres how it should be. it never matters what place you get. ever. if one judge is having a bad day or doesnt like you then you dont do well according to them. but if you think you did well and put in asd hard of effort and did as well as you possibly could then thats what matters. and besides scores represent 1 persons opinion of you, not how you actually did.

I think that if you were to win everytime it would give you nothing to work on because you would think that you have nothing to improve on and just have an ego for winning (sorry if this offends anyone). But I mean at least if you lose you have time to work on stuff and next time have a chance to redeem yourselves.
