 The high sun fought past wispy clouds to shine through the foliage of a section of Di'jai just beyond the banks of Lover's River. Within a tiny clearing, a lone teen Dragonfly of a peculiar lime green hue sat upon the dirt, eating the remnants of a fish he had caught earlier. He finished his meal with a sigh and rose to his feet stiffly, as though he'd been seated for a while. He walked back to the river and stood stock still by the banks, front right paw raised for striking.
Soon enough, a silver fish of medium build was soon struck by a quick paw and scooped out of the water. Closing his burgundy eyes, the Dragonfly brought a rock down on the head of the fish, killing it quickly. He ripped the fish open with his canines and ate a bit more until he felt better.
Dropping the remains of the fish into a hole he'd dug, the Dragonfly filled the hole with dirt and returned to the tiny clearing he'd been in prior.

 Blowing a piece of hair out of his eyes for what seemed like the millionth time the white dragonfly stopped for a moment and sighed. One of his gloves was slipping again like it normally did. Softly pulling at the fabric with his teeth he got it back into position. He had not fully grown into this gloves yet. Flicking his tail for a moment he thought about what he wanted to do. He had told his mother that he was going to go looking about. This was a new area for him and he wanted to see what was around. His stomach gave off a growl and he nodded. Food it was then. Lifting his head to sniff the air he could smell the freshness of water. Taking a moment to look for a good path that his tail or back wouldn't pick up anything. Finding it he walked off careful of anyonr around.

Suddenly hearing a shifting in the bushes around him, the lime green dragonfly lifted his head and rose to his feet, not as stiffly this time. He flicked his tail and walked towards the sound, coming upon the strangest sight he'd ever seen. A dragonfly of a pure white color was walking through the area.
That, however, wasn't the strange part. What was strange was the fact that he was adorned in spikes and gloves and jewelry. The green one gave a small intake of breath as his only sign of surprise before smiling. He cautiously approached the white one and said, "Why hello there, stranger."

He didn't even hear the other dragonfly moving towards him until it had spoke. Puaseing and looking at the bright green dragonfly be offered a smile. "Hello." He bowed his to the bright green one. "I'm sorry, is this your area?" He turned his head a little he sat down well blowing some hair from his face again.

The green one once again smiled and shook his head. "No, this is not my area. To be honest, no area is my area." He gave a chuckle and added lightly, "Your hair getting in your face? At least you have long hair." He gestured to his short mane with humor.
Suddenly, as though just recalling his manners, he gave a slow bow and sat down as well, saying, "By the way, my name's Kirinketsu, stranger. And it's nice to meet you."
((By the way, Death, is it annoying that I bold spoken words?))

(( Nope not really. I have rped with alot of people that do that ))
He blow another peice of his hair out of his eyes. "Sometimes I wish that I had short hair, but I have learned to live with it." Taking a moment to look over the green dragonfly he smiled.
"Nice to meet you Kirinketsu." He bowed his head again. "My name is Spod." He wagged his tail and cursed under his breath when a few leaves stick to his tail.

Kirinketsu gave a chuckle and reached around to flick the leaves from Spod's tail. "Nice to meet 'ya, Spod. Does that mean anything?" he asked curiously as he made sure to not p***k himself while he helped.

Spod was surprised that the other dragonfly was helping him. "No, well not that I know of. And thank you for helping. My tail seems to always pick up leaves when I'm trying to keep it clean." He curled his tail a little so it was way from the leaves.

Kirinketsu put the leaves on the ground next to him absently and chortled, "Well, I'd suppose tail spikes might be prone to pricking things." He grinned and added, "Nice spikes though, don't get me wrong."
Cocking his head slightly in confusion, he asked, "By the way, what brings you out this way, anyway? I've been around this area for the past few days, but I've always been alone. I didn't even know there were others here."

"Thanks, I can to say I like the color of your fur. Never seen anything so bright before." He looked at the leaves on the ground for a moment. "It is hard not to hurt others when playing tho..."
"Well my parents wander the forest learning things about families of dragonflies. And they take there kids with them everywhere, so we see alot of the forest and see new areas all the time. So we stopped in this area." He pulled up his glove carefully before looking at the other dragonfly.

The dragonfly of green gave a bark of laughter and replied, "Thanks! I have to say, I've never seen anyone brighter than myself either." He smiled, flicking his tail.
At the mention of family, a bizarre look passed through the dragon's eyes, almost akin to pain or anger, but it was gone so quickly that it was impossible to tell. He gave another rakish smile and said, "Your family travels? That's really cool. Have you ever been to the sea?"

Spod looked a little taken back by the look in the other's eyes for a moment. "I'm sorry if I said something wrong. I forget that alot of dragonflies have grown up alone..." He looked away for a moment then nodded. "I have seen it once when I was younger. But I think I have seen the desert so many times that I have sand in my gloves forever."

Kirinketsu shook his head, the smile still on his face. "No, you didn't say anything wrong. You couldn't have known that my parents had passed beyond this world. No biggie." Inwardly, Kirinketsu winced. His mask was not perfect if Spod had noticed that. And if his mask was not perfect, it could crack. And if it could crack, then it could break. And if it could break, he could be revealed to the world for the parasite he was.
Shaking off those thoughts, he asked, "The desert? Wow! I thought it was supposed to be impassible!"

Spod watched the other dragonfly carefully like his mom had taught him to. He had been shown how to pick up little things on a dragonflies face and in there eyes. He wanted to say something but let it pass and put back on a smile. "Alright if you are sure."
He flicked his tail for a moment. "We never went to far into it, but we have gone looking around it. But all there is is sand and more sand. And sand gets into everything."

'I know a liar when I see one because I'm a liar' his mind echoed to him, picking up on the fact that Spod was hiding something. Kirinketsu bit back the slightly hysterical giggle that welled up in him as he thought about the odds of meeting another liar like himself.
"Huh.... really? It's just sand? Somehow, I expected something cooler - like buried treasure or something," he replied in a joking tone.
