The year is 2084. Technology has increased far beyond anyone's expectations. Towering spires of glass and steel rise high above the cities. Networks of communication lines crisscross both the planet and the heavens. Major companies have branch offices in every major nation across the world. Entertainment of all sorts are available at the push of a button. Humanity itself has been improved through The world is a paradise of convenience and culture for all.

At least, that's what some chose to believe. For others, it's a much more bleak future. Beneath those gleaming towers are slums that span for miles. The poor and dispossessed are all but forgotten by the governments that claim to represent them. Countless people are forced to turn to crime every day to survive. Those who manage to pull themselves up from this rarely get very far, ending up as wage slaves to the megacorporations for the most part. In the end, everything comes back to the Megacorporations. They control the finances of the world, every government is indebted to them. In the poorer countries of the world, guerrilla war isn't uncommon as various factions struggle for control over the people and the resources. The politicians are corrupt, the people despondant, and the world dying.

It is in this world that you live. The Megacorporations control everything. Even they, however, need to turn to the outside for some tasks. As such, a small culture of professionals has sprung up who the corporations hire for various tasks, usually those they cannot freely attribute to themelves. This includes such jobs as assassination, theft, sabotage, spying, and other things typically regarded as Black Ops. These are just a small sample of the tasks which Megacorps may requests "Wolves" as they are called, to take up.

This RP is based quite a bit off of the cyberpunk genre as seen in books such as those by William Gibson or games such as Shadowrun. Everything is controlled by Megacorporations who are usually fighting with each other over the greater market share. The characters would take the roles of some of a few different groups. The first, and most obvious, would be of the Wolves. These characters can be incredibly diverse in their backgrounds and abilities. Almost anyone can become a Wolf, as there's no real criteria behind becoming a Wolf. Naturally, some Wolves have greater reputations and talents than others, but anyone can work their way up the unofficial ranks by taking jobs and earning a name for themselves. The great majority of players fall into this category.

The second major group is the Megacorporations. Experience players are free to make their own Megacorporations. This naturally required much more work, as you're not just designing one character. To play a megacorp, you have to come up with a brief history for the company as well as a description of what field(s) the company is involved in. Within those fields, you can come up with product lists for items your company offers. Within the company itself, you must also create several charcters, including some upper management and, most importanly, a Runner to assign missions to the various Wolves the company employs.

Furthermore, a Megacorp must have at least three characters, one of whom must be a Runner. The Megacorp player may come up with missions for the characters to undertake. They assign a value to the mission as well. Upon successful completion of the mission, the Wolf gets the money and is free to spend it how they like (mostly on new weapons and/or equipment or just save it up). Some standardization of money would be put in place, so no corporation assigns values that are far higher than the others unless it's particularly difficult. The Megacorp would discuss the specifics of the job with The Gamemaster (me) or his assistants, as well as the megacorp targeted (if the job involves another megacorporation). They will then work to set up the specifics of that mission. As such, the Megacorporations will be much more harshly judged than Wolves. Similarly, several other groups similar to the megacorporations will exist. These groups include organizations such as the Mafia, the Government, and any other group that a player can justify to me would deserve this status.

Money and Equipment

As stated earlier, a Megacorp (with consultation of others involved) will be able to create missions for the Wolves to undertake. With the completion of these missions, the Wolves will gain money. This money will be recorded and can be used in a variety of ways. For one thing, it can be used to purchase new Equipment. New weapons for the player can obviously be bought. The main source of these would be the product lists of the megacorps. If a player wanted to specially order something, they would need to discuss it with a megacorp or with the Gamemaster. Another form of equipment are cybernetic implants and limbs. Cybernetic limbs of all shapes and sizes are available for characters to purchase. Again, these would be found on the Megacorp product lists (though for the megacorps, it may be easier to list basic arms and different add-ons that may be purchased). Limbs are not the only thing that may be replaced. Eyes, ears, and organs all may be replaced if the player wishes. Pretty much the only thing that must remain would be the brain, and even that may be tinkered with to increase reaction speed and the like. It may never be fully replaced, however. Also, keep in mind that any cybernetic body parts would require maintenance.
