o n c e u p o n a t i m e . . . ...on one side of the United States, there was a local New York City garage band who called themselves The Patriots, made up of two girls and three boys. Though they are by far not the upper crust of all New Yorkers, they live music. They breathe music. Occasionally, there even eat music for breakfast. Some even sung before they spoke! So when it comes to the the fact that the third season of "You Got Skillz," a national television show that knocked American Idol off of the charts in 2010, has finally decided to produce a Brooklyn season, they were ecstatic! There was no way they were going to lose. It was either them or a crowd of Pussycat Doll and Justin Timberlake wanna-be's.
That is, until they met the real competition. Two other bands entered the race, just as legit as they were.
On the other side of the United States is another band made up of three girls and two boys that call themselves Walking On Glass. Despite the painful nature of their name, their music spoke to people. Growing up San Francisco, California, staying in New York City for three months is a massive change for them.
So together they reside in The Kings Resort - a four star hotel in Manhattan - both ready for a little friendly competition. A few killer performances. A couple nights to wander the Big Apple with nothing to worry about but whether or not they were going to...well...win, perhaps? And it won't get more dramatic than that.
But there is the third band.
They call themselves The Monsoon. No one knows where they came from, but its rumored that they flew down from somewhere in Alaska. Two boys. Two girls. Just another band, right? Sure, they're all so talented that it doesn't make any sense that they're only sixteen through eighteen years old. Sure, there music is insane - the type of music that starts revolutions. Sure, they're all freakishly beautiful.
Sure, their grammar is far beyond that of a high school student.
Sure, they don't eat.
Sure, when the sun's out, they're no where to be seen.
What the two other bands don't know is that The Monsoon is made up of a family of vampires. That, and the fact that some band members are falling in love, other band members are falling out, and some are sleeping with the enemy is going to make this season of "You Got Skills" an interesting one indeed.

s o i t i s w r i t t e n . . . r u l e s Yes, it's the moment we've all been waiting for - I know. >.< The rules. This is a semi-lit role play. Given, I want no one-liners. Then again, I don't want novels either. People tend to get intimidated by them. ^w^ So keep your posts down to a few paragraphs. That, and I love colorful posts. They make me happy. But not bright colors, 'k? So I want you to title your reservations with your favorite color! Title your profiles with your favorite song. ^w^ This thread is rated PG-17. New rule! The vampires are NOT like the ones from the Twilight series (I'd heard that makes me sound like a fangirl, and I couldn't sit through the book, let alone the movie. And I didn't even try.). They don't sparkle, or whatever it is they do that gets people so mad. They CAN use sunblock to go outside, but only if it is extremely overcast/raining and they have an umbrella. Other than that, NO SUN. Follow the plot. Stay active. All that jazz. You are encouraged to have more than one character (Preferably in different bands), as long as yu can keep up with them all. I'll add more when I can think of more. 'Till then, have fun! ^.^

Singin' my heart out-
{{We're all gonna start out in the hotel rooms. The boys of each band share a room, as do the girls.}} Hayden gasped as she opened the door to her and Rose's hotel room. She'd always wanted to stay at The Kings Resort, thinking it must be beautiful. She was right. She almost squealed in joy as she dashed into the room, luggage in tow. The room itself was huge, but it almost didn't look it because of of the things inside: two queen beds against the right wall, a plama screen TV hanging from the left wall over a super-long dresser, a mini-fridge and microwave, and the biggest window Hayden'd ever seen. She rushed to the bathroom (on the right wall as well, next to the first bed) and gasped at that, too. A double sink, a huge Jacuzzi tub, and a nice big shower next to it. Everything was just... big. Hayden loved it. "Wow," she breathed, coming back out to the beds. "This is fantastic, eh, Rose?" Her British accent seemed to skip in joy as the girl addressed her friend. "I'm so glad we're finally here. So, which bed do you want?"
-just for you.
My keyboard rings...
Hunter stepped into the room he shared with the other guys and blinked. He'd never seen a room quite like this before. He knew Hayden must be bouncing up and down on the bed already next door, and shook his head almost as a reflex. Everything was the opposite of the girls' room because it was right next door, but it was still basically the same thing. He noticed an unfoldable futon in the corner and realized suddenly that there were only two beds. Not thinking twice, he tossed his things on the bed near the bathroom and sat down. He was the first there, so he got first pick, right? With a chuckle, found the remote and settled in to wait for the others.
...as I make my strokes.

Rose Marianne Hunter Simplify, I'll stand by your side
"It is quite nice," Rose said, spinning around on one heel as she looked around. "And I don't care." Despite this comment, she chucked her stuff on one of the beds, answering the question in a different way. She pulled open the curtains at the window, looking down the long ways to the ground, still awed. "Look at the viewww..." she said, almost freakishly pale hands pressed against the glass. She looked back over at Hayden. "I like it here."
She turned back, walking over to her new bed, quickly pulling stuff out of it. "Is my set still down in the truck or is it being delivered? You know I can't stand having it sitting in some trailer." She pulled out her Vic Firth hickory wood tip 5A's, inspecting them and then lightly hitting them on the back of her head. "These aren't bad, though not quite in the same tune." She blinked, looking over at Hayden. "You have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?" She grinned widely.
Close my eyes, hope will never die!

Singin' my heart out- Hayden was about to say something incredulusly about Rose not caring, but smiled widely. "I'm glad, 'cause we're gonna be here quite awhile for this compitition." "I'm not sure. I think I heard something about it being delivered, but if it is it probably won't get here until just in time for the first performance." Hayden tilted her head and shut her eyes, thinking. "They're not in tune with you're head?" she asked, cracking one eye to look at Rose. -just for you. ~~~ My keyboard rings... Normally, Hunter would've just sat and waited until someone found him, but being in this huge, strange place gave some sort of... boost of confidence. He found himself shooting more and more glances at the bedside clock, finally throwing the remote down (after turning the TV off, of course) and walking out of the room. As the door closed behind him, he checked his pockets, and a sigh of relief escaped his lips as he felt the key card in his back pocket. Looking both ways down the hall, he turned left and knocked on the door. With any luck, this would be the girls' room. "Hello? Denny? Anybody in there?" ...as I make my strokes.

"You can hear the pitch, smart a**," she replied, rolling her eyes and putting the wood tip sticks down in favor of picking up the nylon tip, testing those out. "Ah, wood sounds much better." She gnawed on her lip. "And I want my set here...Brand new Mapex, Saturn Series, barely could afford it, and I don't even get to try it before the show. It needs tuned." She sighed as if the world was against her before hearing a knock on the door and recognized Hunter's voice. She'd always thought it funny that his first name was Hunter and her last was Hunter. She really didn't know why she thought it was so funny, it just was.
"You get it," she said, jerking a thumb over her shoulder at the door and pulling out her entire gig bag, looking at the different sticks and mallets and the like she had in there.
Close my eyes, hope will never die!

Singin' my heart out- -just for you. "Oh, well, I was close. Sorta." Hayden glanced up at the door and grinned at Hunter's voice, taking a minute to realize he couldn't see her through the door. Happily skipping to the door, she swung it open and hugged her brother. "Hey there, Hunny-bun." Hunter tensed. "Wh-wha-" he stuttered, obviously distraut. "What'd I do?! I just got here!" Hayden laughed and tapped his nose. "Gotcha. She pulled him through the doorway. "Can you believe this room?!" "I know! Our's is really cool, too! Want do you say sometime after we're all set up we go check out the rest of the place? Maybe find a good place for chow." Hayden nodded eagerly, and they both looked over to Rose. "You wanna come, too? It'll be no fun without ya." My keyboard rings... ...as I make my strokes.

"Of course it won't, I'm the life of the party," Rose said, grinning and turning around, a pair of yarn mallets in her hands. "Shaddup, Hunter. I know I'm in percussionist land again, you don't need to say it." She put the mallets neatly back in the bag, followed by the sticks. "What's keeping the others?" She blinked, brushing a lock of hair from her eyes.

Singin' my heart out- -just for you. "I didn't say anything, did I?""Nope." Hayden laughed at Rose's mind-reading powers. She could almost always tell what was on your mind by what was on your face. She blinked for a minute as the question rang through her mind, and she shook her head. "I don't know. They shoulda been here by now... Maybe they are, and they're just in their own rooms. All the more reason to go asplorin'."My keyboard rings... ...as I make my strokes.
