Gaddwick was still a bit rattled from his exam. He would have rather dealt with Hiro when they got back but he already had promised that he would go through with it earlier and he wasn't going to give the impression that he couldn't handle it. Lot 10 had been cleared and marked for the exam but was never used but it would be perfect for this.

He stretched out his arms a little on the far side of the arena opposite of Hiro and Larvitar. "Let's begin." He slipped his hand inside his vest and carefully drew a Pokeball and tossed it forward. It bounced once on the ground before bursting open revealing a Porygon2 that floated silently. "Porygon! Target : Larvitar." It's eyes blinked like a closing camera shutter as it turned to face its target next to Hiro.

"When you're ready Hiro. You may have the first attack."

A slight tone echoed from Porygon2 as it finished assessing the foe. It froze a moment in midair then started to glow a little brighter. "Go ahead Hiro. Give Porygon your best shot. I wouldn't take him too lightly though."

Porygon2 tried to float out of the way but Larvitar was quicker than it had predicted. Hiro must have trained him to overcome that weakness that many rock Pokemon shared. Fortunately for Porgon it wasn't a direct hit and managed to shake Larvitar off. Its whole body appeared to flicker for a moment before Gadd issued the next attack.

"Not bad, actually it was a very strong starting move." Gadd wasn't sure if Hiro was aware but had Larvitar used a rock or ground move Porygon would have used the opportunity to change its form. Using bite didn't give Porygon as many options. "Lets see how well Larvitar can take a hit. Porygon2 : Psybeam" Porygon floated refocusing on Larvitar before a Psychic beam of energy shot out towards Larvitar.

Gaddwick could no longer clearly see across the arena. The sand stung at the exposed skin on his arms. This would be even worse for Porygon. The thousands of tiny objects would make it difficult for him to track Larvitar. He cupped his hands to his mouth and called to Porygon. "Porygon : Conversion2 : Steel!" Gaddwick spotted Porygon who had taken on a metallic coating to protect itself. "Try to keep your eye on the target!"

There was a loud clang as Larvitar's rock body Porygon's steel coating. There weren't any marks on Porygon but the impact had rattled its interior systems. "Porygon you gotta get away. Porygon : Magnet Rise : 4 meters! A quiet ping eminated from the Pokemon as it expended some of its reserve energy to float higher into the air where Gadd hoped it would be out of Larvitar's reach until its rage subsided. Hopefully the sandstorm would die down in that time as well. Porygon's steel body was heavier than its data body. It would be difficult for it to hold that height for long.

Porygon floated weakly in the air struggling to keep at its height. Gadd decided to cancel the move to conserve energy. He shouted out the commands quickly "Porygon : Magnet Rise : Cancel. Conversion : Cancel. Begin Charge : Signal Beam!".

Porygon floated lower. Its coating shone for a moment and cracked. The shattered thin shards fell to the ground. Now it could begin charging for its next attack. The air around was slowly drawn inward as it prepared the move.

"Porygon : Signal Beam : FIRE!" The rainbow colored beam shot out towards Knight but his dizzied nature made targeting difficult. Either by careful planning or pure luck the beam struck the ground right as Knight swerved nearly falling over. Porygon2 temporarily drained from the attack was hit by the inaccurate bite. Porygon raised itself and shook off Knight.

"That's enough. Porygon : Recover." Porygon2 dimmed a moment as it restored its systems and refreshed its energy.

"Pretty good Hiro. You definitely have some skill going for you. We'll have to see how you do out in the field." said Gadd as he returned his Pokemon. "We'll have to do this again sometime."

"Good. Experience is one of the best ways to learn. Lets talk a little on other situations you might face. How would you have handled my Snorlax? He's a quite a bit sturdier than Porygon2 and he knows a mean body slam."
