Cal shifter his weight from his forelegs to his hindlegs and back again in a motion that caused him to rock back and fourth again an old tree. The trunk creaked as if threatening to fall on top of the stallion that had just designated the poor tree as a scratching post.
He closed his eyes in comfort as he felt the bark scratch along his side. His ears perked up as the trees creaking seemed to increase feeling uneasy about his safety he moved a little more to the side and gave a close inspection to the side he had been rubbing against.
The bark was nearly gone, and he could clearly see cracks in the tree. At least the itching was gone. He glanced to his side and saw bits of bark still sticking to his coat. Looking around he decided it might be best to find some water a stream perhaps to wash away the bits that covered him.
He turned and started to move away from the tree and the angry creaks it seemed to be making...

Reizt found himself staring at a pretty little pool for a few minutes as he pondered how he had managed to escape from his insane family. After having "discussions" with his aunts Rahuna and Raneru, he did not feel up to talking to anymore family members, even his immediate family.
As he bent down to partake of the cooling water to quench his thirst, he heard hoof beats. Take a quick drink he looked up, not wanting to be caught off guard in case it was a family member. With how his family was, though, it was still hard for him to tell if they were coming, since his entire family was good at stealth, himself included. It came with the genetics, apparently.
He sniffed the air, tensing. He prayed it wasn't a mare; not that he was gay, he was quite straight... he just couldn't stand the opposite sex. The female race of his family did a number on him and he would probably never be the same...

Cal kept his head up seeing if he could find a source of water... 'Strange' he paused, for a second he though he caught a glimpse of something bright red. He stopped and thought about checking it out. 'Could be a familiar... or another Soquili... or perhaps I was just imagining it...' he shook the thoughts out of his head and turned towards where he though he saw a glimpse of red.
He coughed slightly to see if he could get whatever was there's attention. "Hello?" he called out unsure if he would get a response but at least he would try. He then began to move around a couple bushes that blocked his view and his path.
He hoped there would be someone nearby... maybe they would know where there is water... he turned his head to look at his side '...at least most of the bark had fallen off...'

An ear twitched as a male voice entered his hearing vicinity. It's a stallion, he noted, not caring at all. "Who's there?" he replied, slightly cautious still. For all he knew, it could be a Kalona pretending to be a nice, regular stallion messing with his head... and he was the hunted, rather than the hunter. In truth, though, Reizt didn't feel any presence of danger at all, though he proceeded to be cautious.
He himself was never one to ever initiate conversation, and rarely spoke unless he needed to. Most of his family called him antisocial, but hey, if they liked to talk then they could talk. Reizt preferred serene silences, peaceful quietness. He carefully sniffed the air again--before his ears perked up as he listened to the rustling sounds from the surrounding trees. Hesitant, before getting bolder, he called, "Whoever you are, I know how to fight, so if you're a Kalona, don't think I'll go down easily!"
Okay, now that sounded somewhat idiotic, but perhaps maybe it would also scare off any other Soquili, although he doubted that. Ah, whatever. The water was enticing at the moment, anyway. He bent down to take a more relaxed drink while still being wary, not wanting to put his guard down.

His ears perked up as he was greeted by another stallions voice. He stopped to think of a response then turned his head towards where he had heard the voice... "If I had wanted a fight, wouldn't I have remained silent to have an advantage?" he was going to continue but held his mouth shut... '...or he could think this is a trap...' he decided it would be best to show himself and pushed himself through the bushes.
He froze at the sight before... an extremely colorful stallion was there. The vibrant red mixed with all the black stripes made him feel dizzy, the extremely long white and black mane and tail were interesting to watch as well. Then he noted the water that was there, he turned his head to his side and noticed that all the bark pieces were rubbed off when he had gone through the bushes. 'Good thing to' he looked once more at the other stallion 'I don't think he would enjoy drinking water that someone else rolled in...'
Realizing how quiet he was he bowed down in a greeting towards the stranger... a trick his father had taught him. "Greeting, I am Calcifer" he stood back up "Son of a mutant and a regular Soquili... no Kalona blood at all" he laughed lightly hoping it would help ease the situation. "Sorry for disturbing you, I was just looking for water" he gave a sheepish smile at the bright stallion "And may I ask who are you?"

The stallion that had appeared before was one of the oddest sights he had seen, and Reizt had seen many odd sights before, since he lived in a most interesting herd. At first, the stallion before him would have been quite normal--his coat color was a nice brown, with light brown spots dotting along his back. It was what was on his face and back that had Reizt staring for a moment, before he glanced into the eyes of his new companion.
When the stallion bowed, he couldn't help but to roll his eyes. One of the polite ones. Fun. "Nice to meet you, Calcifer," he nodded in acknowledgment. "Don't worry, you're not bothering me. It's not like I own the place." He stepped back to give Calcifer some room to maneuver as he watched carefully, tossing his impossibly long mane out of his eyes. Sometimes he wished he didn't have such long hair; it mostly always got in the way in the first place, but whatever.
"The name's Reizt, son of Shizuka Tsuyoi and Zaicate." He didn't elaborate on anything else, since he wasn't sure how well known his family lineage was known to begin with. He knew that his family was very big, though. "I'm just here to escape my family for a while." He spoke nonchalantly.

"Reizt, that a very interesting name" he watched as the the other stallion tossed his hair around. The stripes in his mane seemed to dance... nothing like the shaggy mane he had inherited. "How do you manage all the hair?" he couldn't help but ask, wanting to know how Reizt managed to put up with all of it...
"Shizuka Tsuyoi... Zaicate those are interesting names" he paused and tried to recall if he ever came across someone. Focusing back on the stallion as he described escaping his family for a while "Well it's always good to get away at times" he laughed "I don't have a big family and they usually have things to do so I rarely have to escape."
Giving a quick strech he moved contently to the water and bowed his head down to take a sip of the water. Taking a break after he took his sip he looked at Reizt and just had to mention his coat "Those are quite vibrant colors you have" he looked at him with a bit of admiration before lowering his head to take another sip.
