" You've got the weirdest feet" Mareike Muttered as she crouched beside her little brother and tightened the velcro straps that held his oddly shaped feet to the roller skates. She never understood why they were called skates when they clearly were just a flat place for you foot and wheels attached. Roller blades looked more like regular skates as far as she was concerned.

Not that it mattered right now. Right now she was taking Taylor for the free skate at the local roller arena. Two hours of sliding ina circle to what was dubiously considered music. If nothing else it was decent exercise for the girl and it forced her to deal with balance issues on a non stable surface.

The fact that she was starting to not mind Taylor was clearly not to be thought about at all.

Taylor wiggled his toes and grinned " This is gonna be fun" he assured her as he dual coloured eyes watched the people already out skating " It's dancing on wheels." At least that's what it looked like to him and really anything with wheels was deemed pretty cool.

Mareike tightened her brothers skate one last time then slowly stood and balanced on her own at the sound of Ebony's voice. " Sprouting like a weed Ebony" The older girl teased. It was nice in a way that more of the people she knew that came from the facility were approaching her age.

Without a care in the world Taylor hopped to his feet and immediately instinctively used his tail to keep his balance " I'm Taylor, I'm her brother." He introduced himself cheerily " You look Trinket sort of."

Taylor nodded at the purple skinned girl's question. " Penny says so and that I'm really neat." Taylor couldn't really care less what his parentage was at this pointing in time, all he wanted to do was get out on the rink and skate. Preferably with this person who did know Trinket though.

Mareike nodded as well " That's cool, at least then everyone still got their same general age distance between them so it's not awkward or anything." The thistle haired girl couldn't imagine what she'd do if suddenly her brother was the same age as her.

Taylor nodded and began to slide himself towards the walled in skating are. He hadn't quite figured out the right way to move his feet to glide like the other people but he had managed to get himself moving and that's what counted. A satisfied grin pasted to his face he pushed himself out into the general population of skaters.

Mareike smiled at Ebby, sounded like her life with siblings was going well enough. Keeping her third eye on her purple friend the girl navigated her way out into the arena herself " He's gonna get killed" she muttered looking at Taylor who showed no fear of falling or having his tail run over for that matter.

Not that the maroon skinned girl feared falling so much for it's pain aspects as the fact that she hated not getting things right, besides the last time she's skated it had been on ice and she'd gotten into a fight. although it had been a lovely one and she had won.

Mareike followed tentatively after ebony, using her wings for balance as best she could without risking them getting clipped by other skaters. " At least he's not afraid or anything," she muttered. Her brother was no timid thing for sure. " So do you think the music helps people relax and get used to being sort of off balance or just distracts new learners" she asked ebby.

“Is he your friend or another brother?” Mareike asked, aware vaguely that Ebby had a large family but that the Wrath child had never been good with names and who belonged where.

Taylor having found himself extremely comfortably on wheels made his way back to the girls and grinned at Ebony before gently flicking a wing with his tail " you're it" he grinned before zipping off cackling gleefully.

Mareike rolled her eyes but chased after the other two being a bit more cautious, she still wasn't sure she felt fully stable on the these things yet. It was fun though whirling across the floor just a little unsettling, in time the maroon skinned girl was sure she'd find her feel for it.

Taylor was grinning as he skated across the floor, he was careful to keep his tails off the ground and out of people's way as he weaved his way around other skaters. This was so cool, much faster than walking and it just plain felt neat.

Mareike grinned and nodded " Yeah I'll be fine" and she was having fun,. Really it was just a matter of getting used to it and then the girl would probably be chasing others around just like her brother. "It's actually pretty nice here"

Taylor wasn't one to be ignored often he craved the attention of others and was quite the social creature. Having lapped them in his crazy game of tag that never went anywhere the boy slid between the two girls pacing an arm aroudn ebony's back and his tail around Mareike's she held them steady and sort of pulled them along at the same time. " there's going to be boring couple dancing in a few minutes we have to have all our fun now" he explained softly as if 10 minutes of snowball dancing was the end of the world.

Mareike rolled her eyes laughed softly and looked at Ebony " I can buy snacks during the break and maybe see if claw machines really are as rigged as they say" After all she was a wrath baby she had killer reflexes.
