 Lolita picked her way through the snow, and inside the building. She was lost in thought. It'd been a long year, and the new one fast approached. She shifts herself some, her black hoodie sliding back into place. "Mmmm I hope this next year is as good as the last."

 Slinking from a darker corner of the room, Azrael glanced about with a soft sense of nervousness. He had been startled, to say the least, by the previous group that had been around, and had slunk off to settle more by himself where he was more comfortable. He moved towards the nearest armchair and was about to leap up into it when movement caught his attention. Eyes darting towards it, the reaper felt his breath catch in his chest as he realized the new arrival wasn't an intruder, but rather his beloved.
"Lolita," he whispered, voice barely audible as he swept towards her, tattered cloak trailing behind him. His wings folded and unfolded in excitement, ears turned and eyes on her. It had been many moons since they had last seen one another...

Turning, startled, at the whisper, then recognizing her dear Azrael, she ran over to him. "Azrael... Azrael, I've missed you! I was just thinking of you, and how you'd made this past year bright... And how I looked forwards to the next year, that you might make it bright again." She looked at the sky, for a moment, through a window, noticing it drew close to the hour of midnight. "It's so close..."

A broad smile crossed the reaper's face, neck arching so he could reach down to nuzzle against her cheek. "I am glad... for that," he murmured against her fur, tail twisting knots in contentment, "For I was just thinking... the same thing." His eyes drifted after hers to the sky, watching it quietly for a moment.
"There is something... so beautiful about the end... of the year." he started, shifting his body to stand close against her side, "It is the end of things, but... at the same time it is only... the beginning."

Loli nuzzles back against him, her shoulder pressed to his. "Very true, love..." She hummed the chorus from a song she'd heard Aria play. "Every new beginning is some other beginning's end." She smiled a little. "It will be a good year, love, I am sure of that. I have you."

"And I have you," he replied, a soft purr rumbling in the back of his throat, "More than I could... ever ask for." His eyes closed for a moment, muscles relaxing against her push and swaying with her weight. His eyes opened again, looking out at the stars through the window, watching as more and more fell into his field of vision.
"Stunning," he murmured, wings unfurling and draping to the sides, "It is... beautiful."

Loli snuggled under his wing, beaming up at him, then gazing out the window. "Yes... It's a gorgeous night, Azrael... A wonderful omen for the new year." She runs a claw on the glass, lightly, tracing a pattern on the stars.

A soft sigh escaped the reaper's lungs as he circled where he was, reaching out a paw to pull over a rather large beanbag towards him. He settled atop of it, shifting to leave enough room on it for his beloved. "What better way to... spend this evening." he murred softly, tail curling about his side and wings folding to his back.

Loli lifted her head, as she snuggles onto the beanbag next to Azrael. Her ears twitched, as she heard bells ringing. "Midnight..." She leans over and kisses Azrael, whispering "Happy New Year, beloved."

A soft croon came from the back of Azrael's throat, muzzle reaching to nuzzle gently against the top of her head. "So it starts... all over again," he murmured, wings tucking themselves close and tail twisting to rest about her side, "I could not... ask for more."

"And it will be well." She closes her eyes, cuddling close to her dear one, happy.
