She had, through much pouting and sobbing and huge puppy-dog eyes, obtained the use of one of the large and empty rooms with lots of chairs that maybe once had been dining rooms of some kind. Now, though, they were empty, and thus the exact perfect place for one such as herself to present a seminar on color to the other Tabulae.
The room was not huge; large enough, certainly, to fit all of the tabula and then some, if anyone else wanted to go. (Tanee was realistic for once and did not expect all the seats to get filled.) There were tables with brightly-colored marker packs she had pilfered from somewhere (she forgot) and stacks of paper; from somewhere she had else she had found a huge pad of paper and an easel. With her allowance (or whatever it was) she had gotten color swatches and lots of colorful markers.
On the front page of the pad was colorful word art in bright pink and neon orange reading "Welcome" with eyesore-yellow flowers around it.
In more sedate blues and purples, she had written carefully 'Color Seminar by Tanee'. She had even spellchecked it.
...Now she just had to wait. She'd told everyone about it, so either now they would show or they wouldn't!

Gavin waltzed through the doors like he owned the room, not even stopping to look around as he did so. However he had heard of Tanee's seminar, he was absolutely ready to learn how to properly use colour in his everyday life. Or whatever it is he was supposed to learn from this. It was just another thing to add to his repertoire of knowledge on beautiful things, or so he hoped. And he was always ready to become more beautiful.
He had even dressed the part. Someone somewhere had decided to humour him, and he had (somehow) managed to acquire a bright gold and pink paisley skirt that fell to mid-calf. The rest of his outfit was similarly violent in colour, and Gavin definitely managed to make an impression...hopefully a good one.
Stopping in the front of the room, he looked up at Tanee and smiled. "Hullo!" he said brightly. "I'm here!" Obviously. "Am I the first one?"

"Oh my," said Tanee quite seriously, considering the outfit of her first 'pupil'. "Yes, you are." She smoothed her own skirt, which was small and bubblegum-pink over navy blue leggings. The t-shirt she wore matched her skirt by some stroke of luck, but the eye-searing neon green of her shirt ruined it. Bangles and bracelets, also the results of many 'appropriations' and a trip to the bazaar when she hadn't 'appropriated' something for a while, jangled as she crossed her arms.
(She wasn't wearing any shoes, which was perfect because her toenails were painted every color of the rainbow.)
She tilted her head, cotton-candy-pink pigtails brushing the sides of her face. Then a huge smile broke out over her face and she jumped down to wrap both arms around Gavin and squeal, "Your OUTFIT is SO PERFECT!!!"

The hug disconcerted Gavin, as he had been ready to once again be chided for dressing in women's clothing, and he almost capsized as Tanee pounced him. She was dressed in eye-searing shades that clashed so much they actually almost seemed to...match. Insofar as that was possible. Gavin loved how happy the outfit made her look! Oh, it was lovely. Righting himself, he returned the hug and then squirmed away and inspected Tanee more closely.
Yes, somehow everything came together...or something. he wasn't entirely sure what others would say about it, but in Gavin's opinion, she looked marvelous, if a bit eye-watering. He grinned at her before running a hand through his hair and dropping a tidy curtsey.
"Thank you! I love your jewelry," he answered, moving in once again to inspect the bangles. They were very, very pretty. Gavin, who wore no jewelry, but did hang his key from a ribbon around his waist, approved.

Lenneth was a figure of pure white, as she shyly stepped into the room, pale brows gently knit. "Hello?" Her soft voice called, as she finally stepped past the door, clad in a long white dress, the top gathered like a 'peasant top,' and a pale pink sawl. It was simple, elegant,..and so plain. It was bound to get remarks, seeing as this was a 'color seminar'....and Lenneth certainly did lack color.
However, this was how Lenneth liked it. The pale shades appealed to her. She had come because she was curious, and liked to learn, but also because she thought it would be un-kind to decline.

"Do you want one? Here! It'll round out your outfit perfect!" And she passed over a gold bangle with a purple stone in it. It took a moment to wrestle it free from the jangling collection on her wrists, but eventually she did get it off, and with great aplomb she grabbed his wrist and fastened it about the appendage. "Gorgeous," she said, smiling contently.
Then this horribly pale thing walked in and she gaped. Her brain could not comprehend such a pale white thing walking into her seminar. CLEARLY she needed help! "Oh you poor thing," cooed Tanee, drawing Lenneth into the fold of herself and Gavin. "You don't have any color at all."

Much as he might dislike to admit it, Jaydon was still trying to figure out the why in his current situation. He had tried everything possible to learn about color, but there was just something about the seminar that demanded he participate, whether he desired or not. Maybe it was the speech he'd received earlier that same day on etiquette, and the way the face of the Tabula with the frothy pink hair kept crumpling with disappointment in his mind. It wasn't that he was trying to be mean, it was just that, as he'd recently learned, crowds tended to make him...twitchy. Especially if there wasn't enough room.
But he couldn't just walk around being rude, either, as had been pointed out. So, wearing a light blue shirt with a distinctive eastern cut and flecks of silver and dark blue (which matched his pants, too), and even darker shoes, Jaydon found himself heading towards the room where the seminar was to be had. Including a massively garish, colorful sign announcing quite plainly that he hadn't gotten lost.
That was nothing compared to the sight waiting for him; the colorful Tabula was there, complete in an eye-searing costume of things he wasn't sure counted as color so much as...light? It was awfully bright, but it seemed to fit her well. Then there was that pale little thing with just a dash of pink, also bright, but a bit easier on the eyes, and another clad in equally bright colors and patterns...women's clothes? A mild blink of surprise was his only physical reaction.
Dressed entirely in somber hues, he felt as though he stuck out like a sore thumb. Maybe, if he was lucky, they would be too busy with the friendly embrace to notice his presence. He could always claim he was lost or something, right?

As Lenneth was pulled in between the two, she tried to almost shrink into herself. "I, uh, actually, I umm-" she pointed to her shawl, "I have pink?" she gave an uneasy grin.
Then the door opened to reveal yet another tabula. For a moment she panicked, thinking it was another color-crazy......person, but taking in his appearance, he looked as if he didn't even really want to be there. Come to think of it, if not for being polite,..she'd have been trying to run away, too.

For once since he materialized, Zero felt very, very foolish. He had snuck a quick peek into the room and was already struck by how dull his outfit was. Whereas others flounced and wore colors bright enough to rival the flowers, he wore a simple, practical outfit: brown leather breeches (that were too short), a worn long-sleeved shirt (with the sleeves shoved up past the elbow), and over that a plain brown vest (this time a little too big), and finally a pair of snug sandals tied securely to his feet. Over all this were patches of dirt here and there – quickly the tabula tried to dust himself off as best as he could, then gave up.
He took a deep breath and ran a hand through his hair, clenching his key for reassurance. His key was the cleanest thing on him: a bright white, curiously bunted and rounded on all edges. If it wasn’t for this, then the Tabula’s necklace would look more like a dog collar.
With his jitters calmed, Zero entered the room and blinked. Twice. He closed his eyes and rubbed them, then opened them again, peering at Tanee and Gavin, then shifting to Lenneth and Jaydon. Zero trotted forward towards the group, his brow wrinkled in confusion. “What is..?” He asked, gesturing towards their outfits. “Looks nice, not plain. Bright. Veeery bright. Are eyes supposed to hurt? Ah! Not with your’s or your’s,” he added, gesturing to Lenneth and then beyond to Jaydon’s, “But not know where to start with...” He tried to grasp the words, then gave up and simply indicated Tanee and Gavin’s outfits.

The spring tabula didn't answer because more people had walked in. Her jaw gaped open for a moment, and she finally said, "Oh. Oh. My god." She frowned at Jaydon. It was like she and the dress-wearing boy were the only ones who truly understood COLOR! "I will be right back, oh my god." Tanee scrambled away, up onto the platform at the front of the room. She took out the beaded hair ties and shook the pink locks out. Then she leaned forward, putting both hands on her knees, and shouted-
"OKAY GUYS, TAKE A SEAT AND THEN WE'LL START, OKAY?" She straightened up, jumped back down and started to sort people out. There were few enough people there that they could all sit up front, but she put the ones who really needed the color nearer the front.
That done, she climbed back up and clapped her hands.

Zero watched curiously as Tanee took off, wondering -- ACK! He jumped as she yelled for attention, then he found himself being swiftly propelled towards a seat. He sat down in the chair, then frowned and stood up before sitting again -- this time with both feet on the chair, as if crouching on it. As much as he preferred to sit like this, already his muscles were starting to protest. He shifted again, this time choosing to sit on one leg folded over, the other dangling forward in a "proper" seated fashion.
Muuuuch better. But now what?

Jaydon wasn't entirely sure what he should have been expecting but the sudden shock on the colorful Tabula's face was not it. He blinked a couple times in surprise, wondering what was so wrong with what he was wearing, and figured that if he didn't know now, he might after this seminar. Trying to get someone to explain the importance of color wasn't something he'd thought to do, and that seemed to be quite a disaster.
Before he could say anything, though, she was moving bout, setting people where she deemed best and directing them about before taking center stage and shouting rather loudly. Jaydon couldn't help but wince slightly; they weren't that far from the stage...
So, what next? Any guess was good, but he sincerely hoped she wasn't going to force him into vibrant, flashy colors. Please!

"Alright," she said, pleased at the silence. "Now. Okay."
She took the first part of the presentation board and flipped it- it had a picture on it, big and childishly drawn, of a person in a white dress. Next to the person was someone else in something brightly colored, with a million and seven layers. "Okay. Color is IMPORTANT, but you know that because well you are here, aren't you? Right. So color is important. This picture clearly demonstrates the first reason why color is important because look: when you look at this picture, does the white girl catch your eye as much as the green pink blue orange purple yellow girl? Nope! She does not. So. Clearly if colors can get people to pay more attention to you it is very important."
Then she paused and looked at them all expectantly. "Well? There's paper right there, you should make notes because this is important." Reminded of Gavin, she looked at him (him?) and said, "Well, you don't have to, on account of already getting this part, obviously."
Another pause. "I want you guys to also write down your favorite color. This is for posterity. Mine, for instance, is rainbow."
Rainbow was not actually a color in the strictest sense of the word, but Tanee doubted they knew that.

Lenneth sat down, and seemed to almost sink in to her self. The brightly colored girl somewhat intimidated her. And she'd hate to admit it, but the white did catch her eye before the bright one -- she'd rather not look at that. It hurt her eyes.
She looked at the others, trying to see if maybe they felt the same way. It didn't seem like most of them had much enthusiasm. Thaat's alright -- clearly neither did she. the only ones here that seemed ready and rearing to go were the two in the most colorful outsits she had ever seen. Sure, they liked color,...but they really didn't seem to know how to employ it in an eye-pleasing way. At least, that was Leneth's oppinion. She wondered if anyone else felt the same way,...
Picking up a sheet of paper and a simple black pen, she wrote in elegant writing - not quite cursive, but with legible letters none the less - 'Pastels,' She couldn't pic just one, but she did know the shade of colors she liked. Light, pretty, soft pastels.

Jaydon looked at the two figures on the page, brow furrowed slightly as he realized that neither really appealed to him. The snow white one was rather pretty, but the colorful one did pull at his attention, too - it was too wild and vibrant not to. Why couldn't there be a happy medium? Hadn't he heard someone say on the way here that too much of a good thing, no matter what it was, was still bad?
It was fairly obvious that this colorful tabula was going to assert herself, and he figured he'd draw less attention by simply blending in, as impossible as that seemed. He glanced around, noticing the snowy-hued girl doing the same, and reluctantly picked up a (guess XD) blue marker and a couple sheets of paper, praying that Tanee wouldn't praise him or something like that.
But what was his favorite color? He had to think for a moment before the obvious hit him and he labeled his notes and wrote down "blue." The handwriting was tiny as all get out, but neat and precise, too. Jaydon found he liked it, surprisingly enough.
