Note: I should probably stop making role plays, eh? xD
Couldn't stop thinking about it and I just wanted to get it down and everything... and if anyone thinks it doesn't belong in this subforum for whatever reason or better suited in another just let me know and I'll move it.~

Updates: Nothing yet!
'Cept we're open to posting.

An envelope of the finest and most delicate making is found in the pocket of your coat as you reached inside expecting something other than that. Confused to find something that doesn't belong there, you wonder what this thing is, who could have given it to you and why. Even more so as you open it, gazing at the golden leaf trim and small inked words upon the fine letter. It says:

You have been chosen.

And for a moment you think that is all! But wait, you blinked and suddenly there is more:

You have been invited to a dinner party along with a few other guests. Entertaining conversation and company is what I seek. Of course, you may refuse or accept the invitation by simply stating your answer loud for all to hear.

Odd for letter to contain so few words and nothing of the place and time. How exactly are you to know when and where to arrive? You check the back of the letter and the envelope more. Nothing. So, you heave a sigh and decide to do as it says. "No. I do not want to go," you speak to the letter and receive a strange look from a passing woman. Then, you blink and again the words have shifted:

Too bad, so sad.

Struck with a sudden pain in your chest, you clutch the front of your shirt and drop the letter! A strong gust of wind blows it away and as you turn your head to shout and reach for it, you see it drop off the side into the water below. How strange! You were not standing above the waves of the sea a minute ago. The salty air whips you around and you face the opposite direction. It is a tower. It is a bridge and path that leads to the door which you stand upon. A glance back, the stones just end. How is that possible? Fearing that the bridge should give way, you dash for the tower door, tug and pull you do to open it, but it's only when you use the silver knocker is it opened and you are pulled in.

{ The Place of the Sorceress }

The room you entered and expected to be stairs of a tower, are not, but a victorian styled parlor. Chairs and cushions of the era, lit lamps and chandliers. A harp sits in one corner ready to be played. The windows are bigger than you and about the room, not at all that of a tower. Looking out them, however, you see the waves and endless sea. How can you? These windows do not show on the outside! Strange it is, as you examine further the statues of wood and stone, their bodies and form barely covered by a realistic-looking cloth carved as they are, their height starting from the coffee tables and end tables about the room starting at your belly and ending at your chin. Women are the statues, as the portraits hanging on the diamond patterned walls are of a man. In one he is white bearded, wrinkled with wisdom behind his eyes. A second he is young and handsome looking, the wisdom that you have seen but do not know still there, but accompanied by a bright fire. The third, an angelic looking child, but when you look at it a certain way, something evil can be seen on its face. Is it the same man?

A door on the left and right from the victorian parlor, you enter the first of the hallways that are large, marble and stone with statues of figures unknown to you. Human, or seeming human with animal characteristics, they hold poses of heroic beings, demonic beings, angelic and saddened or defeated people. The doors are rather large and seeming heavy, but quite easy for you to push open if they are not locked. The ones that can be opened by you alone have numbers carved into the them. Doors with pictures of roses, crosses, or whatever suggests what is behind them, cannot be opened unless you possess a key. In other words, the rest are locked. Infinite doors, it is also very easy to get lost.

The dining room, first room of the hallway with a fork and knife carved into the door. The fire is always burning, the temperature always staying just right and the paintings of the red walls are always moving. The pictures are alive, but unable to voice themselves. The people inside will speak to you and one another, yet cannot be heard.

• Numbered doors: One, two, four, five, six and seven. These can be opened by you, the guests. The decor is chosen by you without you knowing, as you enter it changes in the blink of an eye. This is where you will stay.

• Locked doors will hold rooms of magic. Everchanging, neverchanging and other Places. Entering these rooms without the Sorceress or Servant is dangerous, for you do not know the Laws of the Places. Enter at your own risk! But there is no sign for warning.

• Furniture can move and act on its own. Somehow they have been granted a sort of mind, but only some and few. Chairs do not like to be sat upon, or they do, and may move out of the way without warning. Lamps will flicker as they please and tables will set themselves... anything can happen.

-The Sorceress Nimue-
Born to a witch and wizard, Nimue showed her talent at the age of three by summoning a demon of the underworld to their cozy little home on the shores of the lake. It destroyed her birth parents and the small house, leaving Nimue for the nearby village. Eventually it was killed by a knight as she was picked up by peasants. She grew, forgetting the power and her doing. At the age of sixteen, she met a wizard. He fell in love with her, but she was not interested in him. She did, however, want a teacher. He became that and when his advances annoyed her, she sealed him in a tree. He thought of it as a vacation while she went on her own. Years passed and she grew bored, tired of the world and its men. Discovering one with a strange natural power, she took this one as a servant for the Realm she created, connecting the different worlds for her pleasure. Many centuries later, in her ageless Realm, she again grew bored. Watching and playing sometimes in the world of man and God, she wanted to take some of that world and put it into her own. So, she sent the letters.

-Her Servant-
A boy was born to a farmer and his wife, a boy that for all intents and purposes seemed adequately normal. However that changed as the boy grew. He never made friends preferring to play in secret with clones of himself, causing him to never learn to interact well with others. When the boy had grown his father sent him into the world to make his fortune. The young man managed to survive for a time until he came across a trio of thieves threatening his life. With no other options the young man created a trio of his own clones and taking the thieves by surprise he managed to kill two of them before passing out.

Waking up he was greeted by the face of the sorceress Nimue and was quickly given a choice serving her or an allowance to join the thieves in eternal rest. At first he resented being forced into servitude by this witch but soon came to understand his mistress, if only very slightly. So after twenty-one years of despising his “employer” Arch became a willing servant ready to happily do anything for her.

-The Letter and Those Addressed-
One Guest by Letter (Male)
Two Guest by Letter (Female)
Three Guest by Letter (Male)
--
Four A statue granted life by the Realm. Real hair and eyes, its skin is still like stone but silky feeling. Nimue doesn't know it exists! (Male)
Five A being let in by a Guest. Again, Nimue does not know.
Six A wizard who has sneaked inside for some reason... the Sorceress should really keep better watch!

The room number is the number your character joins, so first person gets One and second, Two. So where does Three go? Hmm, we'll find out when we RP! Muwhaha!
+Whoops, wrong link. Fixed now. xD

Blindingly bright were the colors of the room. The walls and floors seeming to be made of clothes of all kinds of styles and many colors. Nimue stood in the middle, her heels digging deep into a yellow sundress, with a black crow upon her right shoulder and back to the door. "Welcoming the guests calls for something... special. What do you think?" she asked the animal, pulling a red shawl out from between a green clown shoe and a crumpled evening dress. She held it up a moment before it was ripped from her hand and thrown away by the bird. "Oh, fine. I should've asked one of the mice if I wanted something different..." she sighed, resigning from their hours of standing and choosing.
The Sorceress jumped out the door of the wardrobe to land into a normal enough looking room. She slammed it shut and shooed away the familiar, that jumped off to perch atop the vanity mirror. Always the Witch look with these things. Aw, well. Nimue slid out of the bedroom to walk upon the smooth floor of stone in the hallways. Her guests should be arriving soon, having sent those letters a few minutes ago. Or was it an hour? Time did not work properly, she wasn't able to keep it. The only thing she knew was that they were arriving and that dinner would be made. How? Well, she was hungry. And she wanted them to come.

Alone in the dark Arch stretched his arms over his head as he shook himself from his short rest. He stood quiet in his own nearly empty room straightening his clothing and running over his to-do list over and over in his head. He had left his copies take care of most everything, but he’d be damned if he let one of them try cooking again, especially when his lady was expecting guests. He had nearly paid with his life the last time one of them set fire to the kitchen. Arch couldn’t help but smile as he straightened the collar of his shirt trying to keep a simple blue tie in place. Once more he felt the creases in his slacks before stepping out into the hallways.

His clones should have long finished their appointed tasks and dismissed themselves back into the ether. Eyes darted back and forth checking each area for spots of dirt and dust that might have been missed in the mass cleaning. Nothing, his other selves had actually pulled it together today and it was a good thing too, his mistress would have been furious if anything was out of place when her guests arrived. The whole time of course he remained silent and watchful for any unexpected disasters.

Yvette stood very still on the stone bridge up to the tower. She had her pale hands set stubbornly on her hips, and was eyeing the building with a cold purpose. A part of her psyche prickled, telling her she sould get the ******** off of the bridge before it collapsed beneath her. So standing here still was almost a like a test of will for her. Exactly like a test of will.

She had stolen her letter from the human who was supposed to read it, simply walking up and taking it. They had seemed surprised, but she figure they were likely better off without the letter, and without having to come here.

She let her hands fall lazily from her hips, and began taking slow, absent minded steps towards the tower, her heels click-clacking lightly on the stone pavement of the bridge as she moved. She snapped her fingers nervously, though her hands remained at her hands as she did so, betraying her worst nervous habit.

So the sorceress Nimue. She was going to be.. interesting.

I wonder which one will be the first to arrive... "Arch!" she yelled, her voice making the windows and walls shake as it travelled down the hallways. "Get to the door and wait for the guests. Now!" Nimue smiled to herself, glancing down at her feet where ran a mouse. Before it could run further for cover, she snatched it up from the floor. She held it gently and began to pet it lovingly. Admiring the white and brown coat while mentally telling it just how beautiful and lovely it was. Still, it squealed and squirmed, begging to be released. Scowling at the animal, hating it for not returning the love she gave it, the sorceress held onto it tighter. "Ungrateful. I could've just squashed you," she growled and tossed the animal out a sudden hole that appeared in the wall. It closed up as the mouse fell through and Nimue laughed. She continued on down the hallway without a glance back.

She reached forward and opened the door, letting the momentum carry it back to be stopped by the wall. She didn't even wince at the sound it made. She hadn't opened it very sharply so she didn't know why it did that - it was probably the doors own fault. She had her hands back on her hips, and tapped her foot rhythmically on the wood, surveying the room critically. It was so... Old. Victorian.

She heard the clicking of heels somewhere down a hallway somewhere in the tower and arched one strawberry blonde eyebrow. She hoped their Hostess was quick about arriving.

An instant shudder went down his spine as he felt the walls around him shake with his Lady’s voice. Ache had always preferred to receive his tasks from her directly rather than being yelled at from halfway across the realm. Some times his mistress could seem so kind and human, warm and caring of the things around her. However other times she could be cold as ice and totally ruthless, but this wasn’t his place to judge his ‘employer.’.

Still, these guests made him nervous, Arch had to remind himself over and over that they were just Lady Nimue’s toys. It didn’t help much as he knew that he was just another of her possessions, but he still liked playing with the idea that he might have served her long enough that his mistress couldn’t want to replace him, then again he knew better than to think she wouldn’t. However, for now he moved quickly along the corridors hoping that his mistress had not moved anything recently. He didn’t respond verbally as he wouldn’t dream of disobeying and he knew his mistress knew it too. So he walked still silent entering the parlor and was surprised to find the first of his lady’s guests already waiting.

Arch wore a quiet almost emotionless smile as he bowed slightly to the young lady before him. Once again straightened he spoke softly, not allowing his voice to carry too far, “welcome, my lady thanks you for joining her so quickly. If you would like I can have you shown to the dining room immediately or you may rest here for a moment.” Arch waited, but slowly allowed a little warmth to the smile he was wearing.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 01, 2009 10:04 pm

Instead of going into the parlor to meet the guests, she would have Arch there while she checked over the set table. Nimue turned sharply into the dining room and noted the difference in heat. The figures in the paintings turned all at once to watch as the sorceress walked to the edge of the table. Her green eyes examined every plate and napkin, attention to every piece of dust and design upon them. Of course, there was no dust, as Arch had already seen to cleaning the rooms. There were no spoons, either. If there had been spoons, she would have gone into such a fit! Nimue chuckled at the thought. How silly it was, the times she almost went to kill her servant over things...

She frowned, sighting a crow upon the mantle of the fire place. "I thought I told you... you're not allowed in here anymore!" she sighed and crossed her arms. "Why don't you all just go into the parlor to greet the guests?" She suggested and then grinned at the sight the whole murder would be in the parlor as each guest entered. Nimue moved to sit down and as she did so, a rather ugly leather chair dashed across the room to take her feet out from under her so she would sit upon it. "Oof--No, forget that. Just don't make a mess over there..."

"Oh, thank you, but no." She smiled at Arch too sweetly. "I'm going to have a look around, if you don't mind. Or if you do." Yvette bobbed her head, and spun on her heel to swagger off down seperate hallway. She enjoyed, ever so slightly, being impolite and irritating. With another smile - this one more a smirk since he was unable to see her current expression - Yve set off down the hallway, heels clacking impudently.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 12:08 pm

Arch stood silent his mouth hanging open as if about to speak and the thoughts on what had just happened going through his mind. After what seemed like an eternity staring at the front door he composed himself straightening his sleeves. He reacted now more quickly creating two clones and issuing his commands. Pointing to the first he spoke quickly and decisively, “you wait for my lady’s other guests,” however with the second he was more verbose, “you talk to the mistress. Just make sure she knows it’s all under control. If she gets angry because of you I swear I will stab you in the chest and throw you out a window.”

As Arch moved silently and slowly after his mistress’s guest his clones set to work, the first taking up a post just inside the front doors and the second moving immediately toward the dining room. Arch’s clone upon arriving in the dining area was instantly distracted by the crow on the mantle, but he shook it off as yet another of his mistress’s oddities. Upon finding her in her chair he spoke with no emotion quickly and efficiently delivering his message, “Mistress, your first guest will be a little later than expected. I am currently taking her on the grand tour.”

The real Arch however had just caught up with the wayward guest. Still moving silently he ran through all possible actions he could take before deciding on a less aggressive approach. So walking only a few feet behind her, Arch spoke, “there’s really nothing to see this way, other than plenty of locked doors.”

Nimue looked up at the entry of Arch, but once he spoke, he turned out just to be a clone. She sighed and rested her cheek upon her palm. "She?" she sighed and crossed her legs. If this guest were curious enough to try and unlock any doors that were locked, well, she would be... marked. The sorceress smiled, almost to the point of laughter. She sort of wanted the girl, whoever this was, to try. Just so she could see the work of her spell on the girl's face. Her green eyes were brought back up to the clone and his simple dress. She preferred the real Arch. At first, it wasn't so. She enjoyed his talent since creating clones of herself was always a difficult task (no one knew that, and they never will!) and liked to poke and play with them. Now they were thought of only as lesser beings, cheap substitutes that annoyed her every once in a while. "Arch-clone. Sit and talk with me," Nimue commanded, waving a hand at the wooden chair near the fireplace. "Until the guest gets bored with the tour or the others arrive."
