"Dion, you have to wear shoes here." Zach said with a laugh as Dion muttered something under his breathe and took the bowling shoes out of his hand. "They're a size bigger so they don't bother you." Zach mentioned since he knew Dion would open his mouth and complain that the shoes were too tight if he hadn't. He didn't want that so he disposed of the boys opportunity before he could even take the chance. He watched as Dion shoved the shoes onto his feet in anger before he fumbled with the shoe laces and tried to master Zach's bunny ear technique. He couldn't do it and Zach had to grab onto Dion's tiny foot before he could kick off the shoes and refuse to bowl.

As Zach kneeled down in front of Dion to tie his shoes Dion stared around in interest. The bowling alley was dark and loud. Each lane was lite up in neon lights and the pins were lite up by white light. There were round booths for each lane so you could wait your turn while your friends took theirs. There was some music playing over head but all Dion could hear was the crashing of bowling pins as they were knocked down. He fidgeted a little, lifting his leg every so often to walk away but Zach grabbed his foot and pulled it back down.

"And done." Zach said as he leaned back to show Dion his neatly tied shoe laces. Dion stared at them for a moment, surprised to see that the white stitching in the shoes and the laces were glowing in the white lite above him. He looked at Zach with a sharp toothed smile and Zach smiled back. "Lets go!" Dion said as he turned to run to a lane but Zach grabbed him. "Hold your horses. We need to wait for a lane to open up first." Zach said with a laugh as he saw the dread creep up onto Dion's face. "Don't worry, it'll only take a couple minutes." Zach encouraged though he wasn't sure if that was true.

Zach and Dion hung out around the shoe rental counter near the entrance as they waited. Dion moved between watching others bowl to staring at the souvenirs. Dion's tail swayed gently behind him as he tried to keep himself busy. The rings around his upper body and tail turned and shook gently with his effort. Zach watched him before speaking, "Hey, Dion. Can you use your ring as a hula hoop?" Zach asked as Dion stared at him in confusion. "A hula hoop?" He asked.

As the two waited for a lane to open they used Dion's upper body ring as a hula hoop. It worked better with Dion since he was smaller and it fit around his waist. Zach settled with watching him get the hang of it.

Mara, thank heavens, no longer really needed to wear the harness/leash combination that Naomi had been forced to buy for her early on. Nevertheless, Kaimi still had the thing in her bag just in case. Their guardian was at work on earth, but Kaimi had some pocket money and she also had a mean case of cabin fever. So the two girls had taken the bus to the bowling alley to while away some time. Sisterly bonding and all that. The older girl also had a little bag of treats stashed away. The whole idea was to give Mara a treat when she did something good instead of bad. Naomi called it positive reinforcement.

Mara had never been bowling before. She liked the shoes, which were huge to fit over her clawed feet and therefore very good for stomping around in. She liked the loud noises and the bright neon lights. She especially loved the idea of hurtling a heavy ball down a wooden lane to try and knock over a bunch of pins. It was the hurtling and the knocking over that appealed to her the most. She took her bowling ball in both hands (and she was suprisingly strong for such a little girl) and bent over. She swung it between her legs and then out in front of her with great force, so that it flew about a foot before crashing down on the wood and wobbling over to the pins.

Kaimi smiled faintly. Bowling had been a good idea, she decided. The people in the lane to their right had packed up and it looked like a man with a young boy were taking their place. Kaimi waved cheerfully at Zach and Dion, admiring the boy's tail and the shiny rings that surrounded him. Those were pretty cool, she thought to herself.

Where hadn't Ebony been so far? Probably plenty of places but she was working hard to knock them out as she became able! First order of business, now that she was bigger, was the bowling alley. After all, it sounded interesting and all sorts of people went Bowling.

The white skirted girl carefully put the shoes on her dainty little feet, not really having much trouble getting them on. Unlike the other two, Ebony was pretty human looking for the most part, feet and all, so shoes weren't a hassle for her.

Walking around in wait for a lane to open up, she noticed two of her friends - one of which who had gotten bigger - occupying two adjacent lanes.

"Ooh, it's Mara and Dion. I should go say hi." So, being that as her logic, the girl wandered over to the divider between the lanes to smile and watch as they bowled. Between rounds she was able to greet them. "Hey hey all."

One lane had opened up after a couple minutes and Dion and Zach quickly occupied it. As they made their way over Zach had noticed two small girls playing besides them, one waved at them cheerfully so Zach did the same. The second girl, the one who was bowling, had ear wings and seemed pretty strong considering how far she threw that bowling ball. As the two made it to the lane Dion was watching the two girls. He had grown over night, which was an unusual surprise for the entire family, though he was still pretty much the same. He had gotten taller, his tail and hair longer and the crystals on his tail ring were regrowing. Dion didn't seem to care all too much for his sudden growth though everyone in the house was making a fuse about it. Dion was starting to take advantages of it, Zach didn't know it yet but he was.

Dion opened his mouth to speak to the two girls in the lane besides them but just as he did so a familiar voice cut him off. He turned his head to see Ebony and froze. Zach stared at Dion and Ebony while trying to hide a smile. He gently poked him in the back and Dion spazzed. He shot up straight and spun around to see Zach who was almost in tears with laughter. "Ebony's here." He said that was followed by a deep breathe to calm his laughter. Dion glared at him before turning back to Ebony.

"Hey Ebony." He said with a smile. Zach noticed that Dion only really smiled at home or around Ebony, he thought it was pretty cute actually. "Nice to see you again Ebony." Zach said with a smile of his own. He then waved to the two other girls, "Hello." He said. Dion waved to the other girls as well, "You want to bowl with us?" Dion asked Ebony. Was she alone? "You're alone?" Dion added.

Mara had just finished watching the ball fall into the gutter with a terribly satisfying clatter. Kaimi had wanted to put the rubber bumpers up to prevent gutter balls, but Mara had resolutely refused. She liked it when they went into the gutter with a bang. Kaimi was waving to someone and since her turn was over, the little spawn decided to see what was going on.

There was a boy she didn't recognize. Mara grinned her customary fanged grin at him and his guardian, and then heard a sort-of familiar voice. The other boy greeted the purple skinned girl and Mara just gaped a little bit. She remembered that girl! That was Ebony! That was the girl who had kissed her! She didn't know wether to scowl or to greet her or what. So she settled for clomping over to where the boy and Ebony were standing and crossing her arms with a scowl but saying very cheerfully, "h'lo!"

Dion heard the loud clomping of Mara's shoes and turned. He stared at the blond girl who scowled at Ebony. He looked between the two for a moment, before he frowned back at the girl. Dion couldn't think of any reason for this girl to be frowning at Ebony since, well, Ebony is Ebony. "Hello." He said to the girl but unlike her cheerful tone, his wasn't. Dion liked her ear wings but the fact that she had been scowling at the two of them (Dion had convinced himself that it was aimed towards Ebony) he didn't care too much for them anymore.

Dion wasn't sure what else he should say to this girl. She looked angry, sounded happy, and had feet that looked huge on her. Dion wiggled his toes inside his large shoes, maybe she needed a pair a size larger too? Dion continued to frown at her, not sure what to say to her so he decided to be bold. "You have big feet." He said as he glanced down to Mara's feet.

Zach was quick, he lashed out his hand and gently slapped the back of Dion's purple head. "Ow!" Dion said as he rubbed his head and turned slightly to glare at Zach. "Be nice." Zach warned as he slipped off to set up the lane. He'd only be gone a minute or so, what could possibly happen in those few minutes?

Mara grinned broadly at Dion. Admittedly, it was a rather terrifying and fang-filled grin. But still, the intent was more or less good. She raised one clown foot at him. "Thanks." She said in response to the big foot comment, feeling proud of herself that she'd remembered to use that word. "S'good for stompin' and stuff." Her face returned to a scowl as she turned back to look at Ebony. "No kissin' today. Okay?" It was important to get these things out in the open. "I won' bite if you dont kiss." This was called compromise. Naomi seemed to think that compromise was a good thing. Mara thought it was worth a try. Then again, Mara had trouble keeping her word. She wouldn't expect anyone else to keep theirs either.

Ebony had warmly waved to Zach and Dion again when they'd come over to her and then at Mara. But when the other girl made the statement about kissing, she cracked up.

"Of course not, Mara. I only kiss if I mean it. Or to make someone stop biting me but if you don't bite me I won't." and then she grinned, turning to Dion, and leaned over to give him a quick peck on the lilps. "Just so Dion doesn't get jealous since you're all talking about getting kisses and he hasn't gotten one."

Now to answer Zach's question. "Oh Mommy's about...somewhere." the child said with an idle wave of her hand. She was used to her mother tagging behind her - not interested in socializing but also not interested in Ebby getting abducted.

Dion wasn't exactly sure of what to think of Mara's grin. It was broad, and was given out of thanks but it was also fangy and creepy. Dion wasn't exactly sure how to respond to it. Should he say something? Maybe a "you're welcome" would be a decent enough response? Dion took a moment to think as Mara continued to speak. Good for stomping? Dion's stared at her with a blank expression. Dion hadn't thought of it like that. He glanced to his feet for a quick moment, she did have a point.

Dion stared at her with a blank expression before shrugging his shoulders. "I guess so." He said with a nonchalant expression and tone. He was going to say something else but he paused, frowning and staring at Ebony. He had heard what Mara said, when did these two kiss? Why did they kiss? He stared at Ebony before switching over to Mara. Thus another reason to frown at Mara. "You kissed Ebony?" Dion had never really thought about kissing anyone. He had seen people kiss on Tv and had seen Zach and Emilie kiss on occasions. When Dion asked what it meant Zach had said it happened when two people liked each other and were comfortable around each other. Dion hadn't thought about kissing Ebony since he did like her and was comfortable around her but the idea of this girl kissing Ebony bothered him. "Ebony you kiss---!!" Dion was cut off as he turned his head to face Ebony. He hadn't expected it in the least, Ebony had shut him up instantly with a very small and a very quick peck on the lips.

Dion froze, his eyes wide and back straight as he tried to register what had happened. The rings surrounding him spun extremely quickly for a brief moment before slowing down to a complete stop. He didn't budge an inch, he barely even breathed. A bright red blush covered Dion's face and ears.

Mara frowned a little bit. "Didn't kiss Eb'ny. Eb'ny kissed me! She was losing so she cheated." This was said very matter-of-factly. Mara was about to go on about honor in combat (funny, since she had none herself) when Ebony kissed Dion and his rings started spinning. The little blond girl blinked. That was cool! She wished she had spinny-rings. Oh, the things you could knock down with a set of those! "We bowl?" She asked, plaintively. Kaimi seemed content to let Mara visit with her friends. But Mara wanted to throw the heavy balls around more.

Ebony giggled at Dion's reaction. How cute! Turning to the blonde, she nodded. "Yes. We should all get back to bowling. I haven't gotten to try it yet. It looks fun."

Dion steadily made it back to reality, blinking a couple of times before forcing himself to hold back the goofy grin that threatened to stretch across his face. He ended up rubbing his face roughly and frowning like usual. "Yes. Lets bowl!" He said in a some what dramatic way, he pointed to the bowling balls with his frown which made it even more dramatic. As if the three were crime fighters and the bowling pins were the nemesis.

Dion didn't move for a couple seconds, he frowned and pointed at the bowling pins before finally looking to Mara. "How do we bowl?" He asked, his frown not leaving. Mara had been here before, or at least a few minutes before Dion. Surely she knew about the rule of bowling more then Dion and Ebony.
