Home Life :
Jordan is a muggle born wizard from a quiet suburban neighborhood. His family is very supportive about all that he does. They’re a working class family, but they live very comfortably.
His stepfather, Andrew, owns a small painting business that stays pretty busy throughout the year. Jordan’s mother, Bethel, works as a dental assistant in a federal prison. Both his parent’s work very hard for their family to provide a good life for their children.
Jordan has one older brother who still lives at home. His name is Jimmy, but unlike Jordan he has no magical ability whatsoever. Jimmy is 23 years old, but he still lives at home trying to save up money for a home. Jordan’s half-sister, Emyrs, is six years old. It is still unclear as to whether or not she has any magical ability.
Diving deeper : Jordan is a very independent person, unlike his brother and sister. One of the reasons for his independance is that his father, Edward, left when he was about three years old and they never had a relationship. Jordan's biological father was abusive towards his mother. Bethel, Jordan's mother, tried to make things work for as long as she could handle it. Then one day Edward found out that she was planning a divorce. He beat the women senseless, and repeatedly said to her, "Look what you made me do!" Even then as a toddler, Jordan knew that something was wrong. He begin to cry and throw a tantrum. This made his father more angry and he came at the boy, however, as he aproached closer and closer Edward began to notice the lights flickering on and off. He knew that it was because of his son, and he wasn't willing to risk getting hurt. The man turned and fled from the home.
Jordan's mother recovered and did remarry whenever Jordan was seven. Edward, Jordan's biological father, never attempted to pursue a relationship with either Jordan's younger brother Jimmy, or him. This, however, suited Jordan just fine. He never never thought about creating a relationship with his father since he felt like he owed nothing to the man.
Jordan’s parents first discovered he was magically gifted from infancy. After his parents took him home from the hospital they discovered that whenever he was crying at night for a bottle or a binky, it would seem to float to him all by itself. At first they were frightened, and thought about taking him in for observations, but their love for their son wouldn't allow them to do such a thing. Instead they wrote it off as temporary "condition" and hoped that he would grow out of it.
As Jordan grew older his parent’s noticed that his “condition” as they called it worsened, but only during times when he was feeling very strongly about something. If Jordan was angry then things around him might jump into the air as if they were thrown by some invisible force, or other times, lights would flicker on and on. This made it difficult to keep his emotions under control and to blend in at school. When he turned eleven though, that all changed. A representative from Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry visited his home, and explained that he was a wizard with magical ability’s. For most muggles that information would be a big surprise, but Jordan’s parents knew that something was different about their child, so they were happy to send him off to a place where he could learn more about himself, and possibly give him a better opportunity than they could provide.
Taking a closer look : A small wide-eyed boy looked out over the wide expanse of green hills outside his window. The countryside whizzed by in a blur as the train he was on continued to race towards his new school. The boy was nervous, but he was also excited about what was to come for the year. The past few weeks had happened so fast. First some strange character showed up at his home to deliver the news that he was a wizard. Even more unbelievable was that they also sent him off to a school where he was going to learn magic. The boy thought about all he went through to get ready. He even bought a cauldron, and wand which he pulled out. The seller said that it was made by a man named Gregorovitch. It was 10 and ½ inches long, made of cedar, with a floo powder core. The boy raised his wand and couldn’t help, but admire what was in his hand. As he was focusing on the wand it took him a moment to realize a group of larger boy’s standing in the doorway of his compartment.
The boys were fourth years and belonged to Huflepuff. While it’s true that most Hufflepuff’s are non threatening, there was something about those particular student’s that made them particularly nasty. The largest one, who was obviously the leader, strode into the compartment, “Hey twerp,” he said to the boy, “what’s your name?”
The boy looked up and nervously stammered, “J-Jordan. My name’s Jordan.” The older boy sneered down at Jordan and said, “Well, Jordan this is obviously your first time on the Hogwarts Express. If you knew anything then you would know that this is where I and my mates sit.” Jordan looked around the compartment and noticed that there was more than enough space for all of them to sit down comfortably, “Well isn’t there enough room for all of us?” He asked. The Hufflepuff boy laughed and moved farther into the compartment, “You know what? There isn’t.” He grabbed Jordan roughly and pushed him against the back window of the compartment. Jordan was frightened and angry which caused his wand to shoot out some small sparks. The other boy’s saw this and laughed, “Look at that. He’s angry now.” The leader who was still holding Jordan at this point laughed harder, “Awww, look at the little angry baby!”
Jordan had always been called names at his muggle school for the way odd things would happen around him. He had hoped that at a school of magic he would be more accepted by his peers. Now it seemed that he would endure teasing at his new school to. Jordan couldn’t take it. Not anymore. He pushed back against the window to get loose from the Hufflepuff boy’s grip. Once free, Jordan turned around and pointed his wand at the boy who had held him. He knew that they probably had better hexes then him. After all he only knew about what he had read in his schoolbooks so far. There was one however, that sounded particularly fitting for the boys that were terrorizing him. If only he could remember how to say it right. “Furnuncles!” He yelled out, but nothing happened. The boys laughed, “Furnucles!” He tried again, but only to result in more laughter from the boys. Jordan grew more and more angry, “Furnunculus!” He shouted, and this time a jet of light hit his antagonizer in the chest. Immediately boils of enormous sizes began to form on him. The other Hufflepuff’s stared in shock at their leader. Jordan took his chance and hit the rest of them to. The boy’s fumbled for their wands, but a few more hits with Jordan’s curse and he had them scurrying down the hall. Jordan smiled to himself and sat down with wand in hand. He could tell that he was going to like this new school.
