Would the correct estimate of how long he had been without a student be many moons? There was no actually collection of time, but all Odijo knew was he couldn’t stand not teaching. He lived for it, thrived for it even, and here he was, complaining about it. He’d find knew students one day, it was destined that they would come to him, or he would happen to fall across them. After all, he never really turned away one that needed help when he was traveled the Southlands.
It was there even, he met a few felines speaking of how they were on a quest from their pride. The intriguing idea caught Odijo’s attention, and he just happened to ask where he would find such a land.
That’s when he came across here. The lands he had come in were moist, different from what he had experienced in the roguelands. His cerulean blue eyes scanned the area, sniffing the air for a scent of another.

Mother had decided it was Maradufu's turn to go and say hello to strangers today. It seemed like there were an awful lot lately! One of them was sort of funny-looking, even, in a way he found fascinating - but he wasn't allowed to stare, because that wasn't nice. Still, it wasn't like he stared to be mean - he was just curious!
Not knowing how else he was supposed to find someone he'd never met before, the juvenile called as he went along, "Hellooooo~! There anybody out here?"

It wasn’t a scent that hit his nose, but the sound of another calling out. His ears twitched slightly, eyes focusing to straight ahead to where the voice was. If he continued to walk towards it, Odijo was sure he would find the source. Instead, he returned an answer in a calm voice. Looking around, he answered,
“Yes, there is one out here.”
He awaited to see any rustling from a certain direction, but he still focused before him. The voice wasn’t that of a cub, nor that of an adult either.

"Finally!" Maradu quickly switched directions, bounding towards the sound of the voice. "I've been looking forever!" That was actually quite the exaggeration, but still...looking for stuff always seemed like it took a long time!

Odijo’s head tilted. “What have you been looking for, young one?” The light brown lion asked as the other male came into view. His cerulean blue eyes assessed the male, before speaking once again. “Are you from the pride that sends other’s on a certain…quest?” The teacher didn’t know much about it, but from the ‘once thought to be rogues’ he knew from his calculations that the pride would be located somewhere around here ( or if not, he really better skidaddle out).

"You," he answered matter-of-factly, eyeing the adult male with open curiosity. "Oh, you mean name quests? Yeah! What for?"

“Me?” Odijo blinked. Well, that was a first. He never really was one to be looked for, but he guessed that because he /was/ in another land, it was to be expected.
“I met a few lions who mentioned a quest. “ He paused, so this was a name quest? Interesting. “The thought of it intrigues me: to send out one of a younger age on their own to learn. I can’t help but be pulled to a land that has these kinds of traditions. I have thought about it, and would love to become apart of the ranks of this pride. “

To Maradu, having a mother who knew when visitors were arriving was perfectly normal. He'd learn otherwise eventually, but for now he thought it was quite ordinary. Why wouldn't a Queen know what was going on?
"Really? Who were they?" His ears perked with definite interest. "I have a bunch of brothers and sisters out there."

Odijo shuffled through his mind to remember the name of that lion he had met. What was it again...A...Aatami? The male didn't think to ask the other if that was his 'real name' or birth name, but maybe this male would know who it was regardless. Or did the one just mention someone named Aatami? He couldn't remember.
"I can't recall their name, actually. If I see them in the pride, I could point them out to you," Odijo offered.

"Oh, alright." Maradu sounded a little disappointed. "Well, if you remember anything about them, my mother'd probably love to know."
"Anyway, come on~" the juvenile said, and started to skip off towards the center of the swamp.

"I will." Odijo stated, following the younger male. He watch where he was going, noting the trees as landmarks. However, with as many of them around, it was hard to get to know exactly where everything was.
"Where are we going?" The adult asked, trotting slowly after the skipping male.

"To Mother!" he answered matter-of-factly, "You did want to stay, didn't you? So you need to see the Queen, and that's my mom."

To mother? So this little boy was...how would you say it, royalty? Intriguing. "That's fine!" Odijo exclaimed. "Yes, I did say I would like to stay..." His voice was quiet, almost as a murmur. He needed to make sure he made a good first impression for the queen. Thoughts riddled his brain. Maybe he should have brought some kind of offering to the queen, as a polite gesture or something; anything that would make a better impression then ‘oh, I found these lands because someone on a naming quest had brought me here.
Oh well, there was no turning back now. Odijo followed the young male, making taking in the terrain. It was much different than that of the rogue lands, but that was to be expected. This was the swamplands after all. Odijo couldn’t help but smirk slightly at his dark stockings matching the same muck he walked through.
Oh well, here went nothing. He would find a good way to impress the leader, he had the brain to do so at least.
