I'm a big fan of monsterous races. My favorite at this point: death-touched, spellweaver, mothman, tabbit, kenku, changelings, witchwyrd, undead, kobol, lizardfolk, others. Long list, but it's pretty diverse.

I like elves. Right now I'm kinda obsessed with drow, since I've been reading R.A. Salvatore's books. I'm planning on playing a drow warlock in an upcoming epic campaign, and I've had other half-elven and elven characters before.
I like humans too, mainly because of that nice bonus feat and the bonus skill points. It means that they tend to make pretty good fighters.
Otherwise, I'm more for playing monstrous races - outsiders mainly - along with various templated creatures.

Mines Elves, but I'm suprised as tohow many people actually prefer elves. Most everywhere I go people hate elves, after all their main attribute is intelgence and smart things/people are hated naturally

I don't hate elves, I hate the way people play elves, They act all arogent and highborn, then when it comes to a fight (with the people I know at least) they're the ones that are the first out of the fight (unless you have a kobold in the party, in which case it's a close call) I would love to see somebody play an elf in my group...IF they could play it right. If you're suppossed to be intellegent, act it, stratagize, don't just charge into a group of powries [I love powries at the moment] and let the beat the living hell out of you, get a few friends, say 20 or thirty, put them at diffrent distance in difrent directions around the group and take them down using true elf tact, hit and run.

My favorite is Shifters and Changelings. I like to be able to blend into a crowd and I like to deal a lot of damage in one attack.

For me, it's gotta be drow. I don't really like to cluster them in with other elves because there are some radical differences.
I'm not talking the Drizzt DoUrden drow. I'm talking the evil tourturous, unappologetic drow. A lot more fun to work with.

I am going to have to say I like orcs the most no level adjustments and like to use them for unorthodox purposes. ie playing the "friendly barbarian" who is well liked until you piss him off... or the smart orc who surprises everybody by demonstrating his really complex mathmatical and scientific equations. which reminds me I gotta do that some day.
my other favorite are the warforged . I need to try so many races though. I never got a chance to play them except for the elves

I've pretty much always despised Elves, yet I picked Drow. Somehow their own hatred for the rest of Elf-kind cancels out the contradiction for me sweatdrop

why disclude outsiders? That's like saying no humanoids, or no dragons, or no monsterous humanoids. but my favorate races are not outsiders anyway.
Dwarves, halflings, Goliaths, and poison dusk lizardfolk are my favorites.

reason being I am trying to keep to what I am allowing in my campaigns.I really try to keep to races in the normal realm. plus I am not really fond of outsiders especially demons, devils, angels and archons as they are usually a pain in the a** and I will only throw them in a game if someone pisses me off in a low level game either that or I bring out the percentile dice with insane out comes.

xd yeah, outsiders are always such annoying beings, being all extreme beings.... but they can make for interesting characters if developed in detail. smile the potential conflicts make for an exciting and gripping, and very very enlightening, storyline.
