[Weeeellll, I figured I'd get this thing started. Onward! And technically, Marissa's still on her "quest"... But we'll pretend we don't know that. blaugh Hoorah for time-warping!]
A large, elegant bird raised her head within PhoenixSong. She was creamy white and tipped with orange, like fire, and her black eyes were alert and observing. She clutched the gilded bars of her copper rest-post with her strong calloused claws; they tightened.
Then, with a voice that was eerily human, the banya bird Aryel spoke:
"The caravan is rolling. It will meet the water."
The gypsies of the caravan were well aware of this, bustling outside. Marissa was tending to her oxen, Gim and Dixy, and the others were about their business. So no one heard the bird as she said quietly,
"Keep the fire from the water."
And then, with a silent bird yawn, she went back to sleep.

"Oi, Marissa!" Em called, Pierre on her hip, and a nearly empty bag in the other. "Look," she laughed, indicating with a nod to her head at her giggling boy. "he's in a good mood... for once! I think it's because we're moving. Anyway... I came to ask for some grain, if you had any to spare. My poor oxen are trying to subsist on the grass around here, and I would like to give them just a few chews of grain. I saw you yoking your own oxen, and wondered if you had some to spare."

Kesali and Vakejo trudged on, following the wagon in front of them. Silver, for once, did not walk with them, but rode in the seat because she was still a bit sore. Every once in a while, a wave of dizziness overcame her and she nearly fell out of the seat, poor Aisrhan giving a worried squeak and finally settling back into the sling around Silver's neck and shoulder until the next frightening jolt. To distract herself from the dizziness, Silver lost herself in her thoughts. Once again the caravan had packed up and started moving, thankfully, away from Mulden and toward the Pythos River. Silver hadn't had a chance to replenish her supplies in Mulden due to all of the chaos and drama that took place. She only hoped that some of her fellow gypsies had managed to do so. If she could possibly borrow some food from anyone, she would pay them back twofold at the next town. She would have to ask when she ran out in a few days. As for now, she used what was left of her food sparingly, very much regretting her indifference toward the need to ration while she was ill. She was thinking she could at least catch some fish at the river to smoke and save so she wouldn't need to be such a burden on her caravan members in the coming days. Aisrhan, however, was fine with the lack of human food. This meant she could go back to munching on grasshoppers and mice. Silver never had understood why a snake would eat grasshoppers, and could only guess that it was a peculiar taste Aisrhan had developed after she had changed. The girl seemed a little less gloomy, almost happy again. Perhaps it was because they were on the road, or perhaps it was just because she really liked grasshoppers, Silver didn't know. What she did know, however, was that Aisrhan still cringed at the sight of Val or hissed when Silver mentioned her name. Silver had become increasingly worried over this, but decided it was something the girl needed to work out on her own. If there came an opportunity for Silver to settle things between them, she would do her best to pounce on it.

Marissa looked up and waved cheerfully. Kale was atop Gim, the male ox's back, barking playfully as the mellow creature blinked lazily. "I've!" she cried as Em came near. Trudging through and between the oxen's harnesses, she came to her wagon's door. The girl leaned in and grabbed the grain sack by a bunch in the burlap, preparing for a tough haul when she pulled. She was surprised to find it relatively light.
"He is, indeed!" she said with a look over her shoulder at Pierre. "I think we were all getting a bit stir-crazy," she added, and laughed. Walking to Emelyn, she set the grain sack on the ground and flew open the top. She reached down inside of it and felt around, her hand uneasily traveling to the very bottom before she found any grain at all. "Oh," she muttered, "It seems I've less than I thought."

"I think we're all worse off than we figured. I barely have enough milk for Pierre to last the next few days. ...I think we ought to do something about it. Collect herbs and plants- fruits... some of us could go hunting. And I think in the nearest encampment, we should all try to trade for a nanny goat. That way we'd have milk for the children- which is the most important."

True to Valleldia's word, Gwynna had found a small wagon perfectly suited to her needs, pulled by a stubborn old mule called Daisy. Her few possessions stowed and the simple bed put up for the day, Gwynna prepared for the day's journey.

Caroline, meanwhile, is having her own troubles. "Cornelius, ye stubborn auld bugger! Move! I think all the rest has gone to your head, ye wee...thing!" She tries again to get him to move. Rojiza scampers around inside the wagon delightedly. Caroline seriously considers taking out the bridle she'd received from Valelldia and Oqaia.

((All right, ladies. Your wagons are all hooked up, and we're rolling towards the river. Things in this area: ...Pretty much nothing. Lots of gopherferrets, that pop up out of the ground, and make wagoning on the earth a little unsteady.
This is plains country- so everything grows wild- and thick. Lots of small animals, but that's about it.
Feel free to rp- but even if no one does, there will be a wagon ordering ceremony next time we stop. Make sure to come, so that you can learn about magic balancing and get the best spot for yorur wagon. Time will be posted later. ^_^))

Her horses were trotting along side, the dogs were in the back of the caravan and she just sat with her lamp on her lap. She watched others though kept silently, occasionally looking at the gift she had recieved. She had one of her dogs laying beside her and as one of her dogs had just had a puppy she had that close to her, her little Frazzle though the lamp was kept closer. This could be a long journey but she didn't care she had her animals that she loved dearly and that is all that mattered.

Mirla rolled idly with the caravan's movement, her hands loosely clasping Bavol's reigns. Her sapphire eyes glanced excitedly about her. It wasn't that the landscape was all that exciting, but rather was far differant from anything she had see within Mulden. Beside her lay the folded blue blanket, a hand freeing itself from the reign's to gently stroke it. It was a rather unusual blanket, and she could sense that there was something extra to it other then its strange design.
A snort of frustration issued from Bavol as he stepped atop another gopherferret hole. The stallions obvious frustration brought an amused grin to Mirela's lips. "I'm sure we will be rid of the holes shortly Bavol" she said brightly to the annoyed horse.

Leshya'e took a deep breath and looked around, smiling and taking in the scenary. Anezka was also smiling, sitting bareback on Alexander, holding to his briddle as he strolled along pulling Varekai. He was well trained and well behaved horse, so Shy let him pull Varekai without having to lead him. She leaned back and thought to herself, contemplating getting another horse to either help Alexander pull, or maybe be a mate.

Caroline, accompanied by Rojiza, wanders the woods near the river. She'd thought she'd heard a distant braying, and when she'd set out to find an escaped Cornelius, she'd found him. Still hobbled near a sweet patch of grass. So, with Rojiza on her shoulders, she sets about to find the source of the mysterious braying.

Voltaire sat on his seat of the wagon guiding his horse, Slaine, along the path. Next to him sat a small girl with strange violet eyes. Along her arms were black feathers and her feet were black and looked like a duck's. The girl seemed quite attached to the man already. The girl seemed no older than an infant, though she sat up on her own and even talked a little. Walking still gave her issues however.
He glanced down at the girl with a small smirk, "You sure you're alright sitting there?"
Annjette glanced up at the man and pouted a bit, "Hungry!" the small black haired girl demanded.
Voltaire gave a laugh, "Soon, Duckling, soon. I think I see someone up a head." He replied patiently.
"Not duckling, Annjette!" she responded with a small playful grin, in truth she liked the nickname.
The half-elvish looking man gave a small chuckle and nodded, saying nothing more to it for the moment as he continued on.

Anezka turned and flailed at Shy, pointing to her stomach. "Oh, hungry?...yes, it does seem like a good time to eat." She pulled at Alexander's reigns and lead him off to the side of the road. Standing up she went into Varekai and rummaged around for something to eat.
