AIM LOG: Thalion & _ p a o cx Naya had lucked out, yet again that day. She'd stumbled across a pretty little oasis of sorts, with water and enough shade for her small frame. With a thankful expression on her face she padded over to the edge of the water and lowered her head to take a drink. It wasn't particularly hot that day, so when she was done she simply lay down beside the water, staring at her own reflection. This was among the very few times she ever bothered looking at herself, and each time she would always get caught up looking at the spots on her cheek. They were nothing like her parents, so they always intrigued her. With a curious expression she pressed her cheek in slightly with her spotted paw and she sighed. Well...she looked nothing like either of them, so that really shouldn't be that surprising..There would first be the faint smell of sandalwood- a rich, soothing smell that seemed to drift easily on a faint breeze. In the reflection of the water, something would seem to blur just behind her. Upon turning her head- there'd be only a slight movement in the grass. A small dusty-pelted cub crowned with a dulled gold sat just accross from the small puddle once her attention found its way back ahead of her. He had his head dipped slightly, pink tongue lapping quietly at the surface of the water.Had it not been for the tiny ripples in the water, a lion may have well been stalking her and she wouldn't have noticed. The cheetah looked up now, brows furrowed in confusion as to how a young cub had managed to make its way to the edge without her noticing. She was, however, oblivious to how entranced she was by her own reflection. She cleared her throat gently to try and get his attention, then spoke softly so he wouldn't be alarmed. "Hello there," she called, just noticing that he was alone with no parents in sight. It worried her, but if they were looking for him she could at least keep him company until they found him. Strange though.. he was perfectly calm despite the possibility of being lost. The cub took a few more slow laps from the pond, licked his chops, and glanced up with a soft smile. "Hello." He lifted his head up and tossed aside his bangs, "I hope you don't mind. It was the closest place to get a drink. I've been running around for quite a while. What's your name?"She was taken back by his polite reply. It seemed odd, coming from a cub. She hadn't been that way when she was young, anyway. Her smile had faltered only for a second though, before she thought of a reply. "My name is Adannaya, Naya for short. And no, of course not. Drink as much as you like." She tilted her head, curious as to why this cub didn't seem the least bit worried about his predicament. Then again, it could all just be in her head..she hadn't asked to begin with. "So what's your name?"

"Naya. I like it." He chuckled softly.
"Oh!" The cub brought a paw up to his mouth, containing a quiet gasp. How rude! He'd not introduced himself. "I'm Li Wei. You can call me Li for short."
He stepped around the puddle slowly, careful not to dip his paws in the water, "What are you doing all by yourself? Aren't you lonely?"
Naya chuckled at his last question, and shook her head gently. "I should ask you the same question. I have to admit it's a little weird coming from someone so young compared to me. But...well, I'm fully grown and thought it was time I went out on my own. I get lonely, but every so often I run into good company, others like you, so it goes away for a little bit." She smiled down at the little cub, her worry abating for the time being. "And what about you, Li? Don't you ever get lonely?"
"Well it's good to travel! You see a lot of places, meet a lot others... I just started to travel too!" He tipped his head to one side, seemingly distracted by a small flock of birds that had passed over-head. They were pretty! He twitched slightly, as if to break after their shadows but seemed to catch himself at the last moment.
"Me?" He blinked, "Well...yes I do! I don't know anyone. Not yet anyway."
An interesting cub, to say the least. She chuckled a bit more at his reply, both surprised and delighted that he wasn't the least bit bothered by the fact that he got lonely and had yet to meet anyone to keep that loneliness at bay. She noted he had a small twitch, but brushed it aside. "Well then I guess that makes me your first new friend, doesn't it?" she replied to his last comment first. "Yes, I agree. It's fun to travel, but it's also fun to relax and take it slow whenever you get the chance. Don't you think so?"
"You?" He looked back to her and tipped his head to one side. Well... it made sense! They were being nice to each other, and they were talking. A wide smile slowly pulled across the cub's maw. "Okay! We'll be friends then-"
He sat back on his hind paws and leaned back, his front paws curling up against his chest- the pose would be very similar to that of a meerkat. "Sometimes. Like naps? I like those."

Naya chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, like naps. Or sunbathing, or just lying around doing nothing." The femme smiled down at him, glad to see that he hadn't rejected her offer to be his friend. This would actually be the first time she'd ever run into a cub during her journey, and she was...handling it surprisingly well considering that despite her friendly nature she wasn't always that great with cubs. It probably also helped that Li wasn't crying out for his mother.. "So what do you like to do for fun Li?"
"Let's see...." He tapped his chin and took a short look around, "Well I like to run, and sleep... and jump...and...uh..." He dropped his paws and flashed a grin, "Lookit clouds."
Sleep and cloud-gazing were normal pasttimes, she thought, but running and jumping? Probably normal for cubs.. She shrugged off the strange thought and laughed lightly. "Run and jump? It's good exercise I guess. And I like looking at clouds too, I do it to relax." Naya thought for a moment and looked up, glad to see that there were clouds to look at today. There weren't any on those really hot days.. If anything she could watch them later, if she got bored enough. "Well, did you want to do any of those things right now? I could join you, if you want."
"I can teach you how to run and jump. If you do it together- you can jump higher- farther! It's like you're flying- but not...'cause you come down." He leaned forward and landed on his front paws. "It's good fun."
She grinned and shook her head, rather amused by the motion. "I think it works best with cubs, not so much with someone as big as me. Um...how about we take a nap instead?" It seemed like a good idea right about now, considering she felt so tired suddenly. Probably because she was kind of over-thinking how to talk to him.. It was different from having a conversation with an adult, but it was nice all the same. "I could really use one right about now, what do you think?"

"Aww...." His ears fell down along the side of his head. "Come on, just try it! You'll feel good! I bet adults do it all the time! I'l-" He paused as his stomache started making a queesy growling sound. "WOA!"
Naya smiled sheepishly at Li, a little worried that he might not think of her as being that good of a friend if she didn't give it a shot. And she almost did too, until his stomach growled. She chuckled lightly at his reaction and sighed. "Did you want some food? I could get some for you, if you want. Hunting's another good way to exercise, it's how adults stay in shape. Or...it's how I stay in shape anyway. That and all the walking that I do. So how about it? You can show me how to do that run and jump thing after you eat."
"Cool! What do we eat?" He got to his paws and sprang forward onto a patch of grass. "How about this? I caught it. I must be real good." He looked back and flicked his tail, "You want some?"
He really was a strange cub...you'd think he'd never been fed before, considering he didn't even know what a cub ate. Naya smiled and shook her head. "You and I, and others like us, eat meat. You know, gazelle, antelope...or any other creature that eats grass. We tend to stay away from meat-eaters...or, I do anyway. And we also don't eat grass." With that she stood and took a good look around, sighing when nothing was in immediate sight. "It might take a while to find a big meal, but I'm not all that hungry anyway. I could find a hare for you, that shouldn't take too long." Naya started walking off, eyes looking at the ground for paw prints of any sort that she could follow to a burrow. "Wait here, okay?"
