It had been a long time since she'd looked in on those that she had blessed once. It had seemed that something had happened to them in her absence now that she looked down upon them. They were ... small.
She had never seen so few in number in these lands. It was heart breaking in a way and made her wonder what she had done to them for their lives to have been cut so short. At least some she recognized if only for the touch of their ancestors on them.
Setting her feet on the grass the bones around her wrist clicked softly. Luck always came to her and if she waited long enough someone would come to her. Someone useful ....---------------------------------------------------------- "Noo .... she was big, and pretty and looked sorta like a bird." She scrunched her nose as she tried to describe her dream to her sister. Sauda was the only one that really listened to what she was saying so she was the only one she trusted to tell these things to.
"Haven't you seen her too? She says she's looking for us in my dreams."

 "My dreams never make the same sort of sense that you do." Her nose wrinkled slightly as she followed after her sister. More often than not she couldn't put words to the things that she saw when dreams came to her so she just as soon didn't speak of them... Every now and then when she'd wake with a start she'd whisper something to Safi before settling back down but, come morning, she could never quite remember what it was. "I can't ever remember the good dreams..."

She scrunched her nose slightly as she thought about that. "Maybe you will one day .... some of the stuff you say makes sense." She remembered Sauda telling her about new play mates and not long after Grumpy and Miss Nya had cubs. "Maybe you just haven't grown into it yet." She grinned brightly. She didn't always understand her dreams they were just easier to explain because she remembered them.
Looking up she frowned. "..... what's that?" She could see something dark, a fuzzy shape, on the horizon.
She could see them getting closer, or more feel them. She knew those were the one she needed. Those with a fate that she could help. Ones that could help her pride make themselves everything they once were.
She just needed them to come closer.

"I don't need dreams to know that momma's not going to be all that happy if we wander too far and make Auri worry again like we did the last time." She glanced down, eying the ground that passed beneath their feet before looking up to the horizon to follow her sister's gaze. She paused, small body tense with something that she didn't want to call fear; knowing well that she needed to stand tall and proud as members of their pride should. Was that thing ahead of them what her bad dreams had been about?
"... I don't know, Safi... I don't think we should go near it."

Come to me little ones. She needed them more than she could really admit. If she couldn't get them to come to her she'd have to try to find some other way ... or she'd have to wait. She didn't really want to wait.
The pride couldn't afford it. They had the strength of each other but there were things missing.
"I think we should ...." She wandered a bit forward. "I think ... i think it wants us to. Come on Saunda. What if it's someone who needs help? Mama wouldn't be happy if we ignored them and it'll take too long to go back and get someone"
She looked back at her sister. "Dont ya trust me?"

"Wouldn't it come to us if it wanted us?" Giving them a proper chance to run... Of course, if it was that much bigger it wouldn't make a difference. It would be able to catch them easily.
Her brow furrowed and then something tugged at her, causing her to stand tall and proud when all she wanted to do was slink back. She did trust her sister... But she didn't trust whatever it was that had been lingering in the dark corners of her sight. "If it kills me... I'm going to haunt you, Safi."

"It wont kill you." She huffed as she continued on. The thing wasn't moving and she figured if it was dangerous whatever it was would have come at them eventually. You didn't sit forever waiting for prey to come to you right? You'd never get it done.
As they got closer the shape it started to come into focus. ".... Saunda ... i think that's it, her. My dreams!"
She smiled as she saw the little ones coming closer to her. Shifting she lay down so she wouldn't tower over them. Even though the lions of this area were larger than average she knew she would be even bigger than any of them. Her wings stayed tucked against her back so she didn't startled the small girls.
"Hello little ones"

"You be careful, Safi." She huffed as she caught up with her sister, golden eyes gleaming as she stared up at the larger lion that... Wasn't exactly all lion. Her boldness still had a hold of her as she stood her ground. "Who're you? What're you doing here? Don't you know this is where we live... Ma'am?" The last bit of politeness was added on as an afterthought, Auri's voice ringing in her ears as she thought about the last time she'd been 'disrespectful' to an elder.

She laughed softly as the little gray cub started off on questions. "Just what i'd expect from someone of your blood. Bold to the very end." She shifted slightly so she didn't have her head against her paws so she could speak clearly.
"I am Kitunda'bahati, Goddess of Fortunes." She hoped that the pride remembered that the lady of Luck watched over them and that the little cubs had been told. "I was hoping that the two of you could come see me, and yes i know this is your home"
"Sauda" She hissed slightly at her sister. "No being mean." The ... the goddess hadn't attacked them or anything yet. "Fortune? Is that like fate? or is that just luck? or are those the same thing?"

Her eyes went wide at hearing that and she shifted to nudge her sister with her shoulder to keep her from asking silly questions like that. "Fortune is what momma and the Mfalme and everyone prays to. They keep saying that Fortune watches us... And that she'll smile on us..." She didn't quite know why they'd want someone to smile on them instead of at them though. "... Have you been watching us?"

"Not as much as i should have been it seems, but i am now." She smiled softly at the gray girl before looking to the white one. "Fortune and Luck are much the same. They often go hand in hand." She laughed softly. She hadn't expected ones so young as these to understand the difference.
"I want the two of you to tell them i am once more, and that i am happy with what they have done."
"...." She scrunched her nose at her sister before listening to the goddess. "So, we're suppose to be your messengers? Why don't you just talk to them yoursellf? I bet the Mfalme's would like that."

"Auri says that her brother keeps looking for signs... I bet he'd really like seeing one from you." She nodded slowly, gazing up at the goddess. "His name's Mfalme Shujaa. He's biiiiiiig and tall... A white lion with mane that's black like your coat." She paused for a brief moment, little brow furrowing. "Why're we your messengers? Why can't you talk to everyone?"

"because i believe in you." She smiled as she stood up slowly. "He will see a sign from me. They all will. You both will tell them that you've seen me and spoke to me."
She stretched her wings before letting them fold again. "If i went around doing everything myself there would be no reason for you to believe in each other."
"I've heard Grumpy say that before ... or something like it." She tilted her head as she tried to think of exactaly what he'd said. "He says that if we can't trust and depend on each other then what do we have."
She grinned brightly at her memory. "So, we're suppose to tell them because that way they don't depend on you completely instead of listening to family?"

"I still think you should talk to Shujaa." Her nose wrinkled slightly as she sat back on her haunches, tail flickering back and forth behind her... A thought then crossed her mind, causing her to glance up. "... Do you know what the dark thing I've been dreaming about is?"

"Perhaps, later." for now the little ones would be her voice to the pride as it should be. That is how they'd always had it. It was easier for them to believe than if they all saw her.
"No, i can not say i do." She smiled at the young girl. "You two have powers that even i lack."
"How can we do something a goddess can't do?" That seemed a bit weird.
