Every day became a challenge he couldn't handle, something he couldn't stand up to. He felt weak and useless, his strength slowly withering away right in front of his eyes. Afraid to tell anyone of his growing weakness he had fled to a nearby tree, hiding himself behind to tree in hopes of no finding him. No one needed to find him like this. He would simply die of embarrassment of someone were to discover him like this. They would laugh he imagined, laugh at his failures and weakness. Never did he want something like that. Tshila was known for his arrogant and mean self. Any other change to him could have the affect of setting worry on others. How would people react if he was sad and down under his money?

The trickster was becoming something different. Instead of the constant grin that usually appeared on his face, he often frowned in anger, waves of frustration always existing him. He never ranted, no, he simply turned around and let his anger fuel on another. Someone he hardly knew. Someone that had gotten in his way and would pay the price. Well, he really did need to realize that revenge was simple, and he wasn't the only one out for revenge.

There was a lot he needed to know. But, sadly for him, he hardly looked at others the way he looked at his siblings. With a soft-spot he had towards his siblings and parents, everyone else was the enemy.

He needed to figure out that he could also be an enemy to his siblings, with his anger, frustration, and constant jealousy.

Something had been bothering his brother lately, that much Fyja knew. His head hung a bit lower when he sat, and his steps weren't as lively in walking. It seemed that he'd become even quieter of late, and as he'd always taken after Mother, that was saying something indeed.

Today Fyja had lost track of him, after hearing about this sister's discovery, and that brother's wrestling. Sometimes he wished there were two of him, just to help keep things ordered. Still, everything was nice, here with the family. He just wished it would stay that way.

Eventually he spotted Tshila, sitting under a tree, just barely visible around the curve of its trunk. It was Fyja's first instinct to go over to him and see why he looked so distressed, but after a moment he simply sat back at a respectable distance and watched.

Ears down, tail-tip curled, but moving, slowly. Breathing in sighs, shoulders slightly hunched, head down, jawline lax... Fyja saw others this way. By what their bodies said, and not what their voices said. Something was wrong, for the usual upbeat, almost vain cub. Still, he didn't look like he wanted company just yet.

And Fyja was right. If anyone interrupted him of his sulking, he would likely react to driving the other away, unable to face the curiosity and worry they would defiantly show. Now if anyone did care for him, he would likely rebuff those feelings. No one cared for him. Even if he disappeared he expected no one would notice his sudden disappearance, not caring the ask where the grumpy cub could have wandered off to. He often wandered off, without the concern that his parents could grow too worried over his wanderings. After all, in the big, bad world, if he wandered off and was attacked, no one could come until he was close to death. The weakness to wandering he was not learning, and thus he really was inexperienced over the world and wandering status.

Actually, there was two of Tshila. They didn't share the same personalities, but his twin was his other half. They were opposites. She was happy, loved everyone, and cared for everyone. Him on the other hand. Well, he wouldn't want to drag himself into that.

He sighed once more, tail curling even further as he dragged himself into more depressing thoughts. Unaware that his brother was nearby, he started muttering strange words under his breath, eyes staring off into the distance.

If he cared to actually scent his surroundings, he wouldn't been able to spot his brother. But, he wasn't really thinking straight, and instead he almost shouted out. The anger he always felt ever since he was old enough to speak was going to roll off of him in waves.

Tshila was angry. Anyone with eyes could see it, the heat was almost palpable coming off of the cub. Ears went from down to back, and face muscles tightened. The chest deepened and broadened, and the breaths came longer, making the nose flare. He was so tense, too tense. He needed to let some anger out.

Maybe it was a stupid idea, but Fyja stood then, and made his way over. He didn't bother to sneak, that wouldn't work for his idea. He took calm breaths as he went, determined to not seem too concerned.

If Tshila needed to be angry, and yell or even fight with someone, better it was Fyja than one of the other cubs. He could take it, and he knew that anything that was said wasn't meant when one was angry.

Without a word, he stopped beside his brother, and calmly looked out at the surrounding lands.

The appearance of his brother was something he found surprising, because as Fyja sat next to him, he almost turned around and swatted him, unaware that the stranger was actually his brother. When he did realize it was his brother, eyes staring at the black and tan-like, he felt a pang of guilt hit him hard. It was like a pain done to his heart- he almost hurt his brother. Tshila never wished any ill intentions on his siblings. He loved them with the love he never showed anyone, and thus he often secluded himself. He wanted to feel like the one left out. He wanted to be the one to explore and soon leave the family. It was just the realization that leaving could be a toll on his family he was too unaware of.

Of course his family loved him, he knew it with all his heart that they loved him. If his family didn't care for him, then he would be kicked out immediately for the way he acted.

"How long have you been here?" asked the cub, quiet and withdrawn. He wasn't going to hurt or rant out at his brother. Someone he cared for, someone he would protect with his life, if it depended on it. He would never be able to forgive himself if he turned around and attacked his brother.

He looked over at the horizon, too, unable to hold his gaze towards his brother. It was too much to bear.

Tshila might as well have been speaking his thoughts aloud as far as Fyja was concerned. From the corner of his eye he could see the emotions come over him in turn. Anger, surprise, shame, worry...He felt a slight twinge of regret for sneaking up on his brother so, but something was certainly wrong.

Even as his brother looked away, Fyja's eye never left his face. A slight shrug was his way of saying 'not too long'. Long enough of course, to see that his brother was upset. Unlike his brother, who seemed somehow ready to burst...He'd noticed it before, the strained look about him. Like some days he just wanted to break and run, or pop like a bubble in a puddle, grown too big to support itself. Whatever was causing that feeling in Tshila was getting worse, he knew.

He ever so slightly tapped Tshila's shoulder with the very tip of his nose. 'I'm here to listen, if it helps,' His eyes said, though they also hinted that he could deny Fyja's help if he preferred.

Tshila did feel his brother's gaze burn his pelt, which made him turn his head further from him. He didn't want to look at him right now. He wondered why his brother cared, but he knew Fyja cared for everyone in the family. He was the one to talk to when you had problems. Had he ever come to Fyja? Not that he knew of.

He turned to look at his brother as he poked at him, a twinge of annoyance clear on his face. Not enough that would read 'go away, before a kill you', but just enough to send him a warning. He wasn't in the mood. Never would he snap at his siblings, but he did let his irritation be known just by his eyes. Oh boy, his eyes did the talking more than his words did. With his whisper-voice, he, like Fyja, preferred silence over noise.

"I don't know if it will help," he murmured quietly, easily able to read his brother's eyes. That was one of his talents- reading the emotions in eyes. The eyes were the easiest thing to see emotion, or what the person was saying.

Fyja had leaned back away from Tshila directly after the touch, figuring he'd react this way. His brother was never the type to rely on physical expressions to soothe his worries. He was most like Fyja of the litter, already quiet, and fluent in their own eye-language. Their attitudes were different, but you'd almost think they were more like twins than they were with their actual respective counterparts.

Fyja shrugged again, an ear swivling towards Tshila, the other aiming away for the sounds of others. 'Couldn't hurt to try...If it's no good, I'll go.' He wasn't going to make his brother talk. Just sitting here would do, if that was what the other wanted him to do.

"You could go if you wanted to," Tshila said flatly with no emotion, no air, to his voice. He turned his head away from Fyja forcefully. Eye-contact was something he never kept long, always afraid that someone would see the jittery emotions that floated around in his eyes. Frightened by this, he adopted keeping his gaze away from someone when they looked at him. He couldn't bare being read by anyone. The only one that could ever really read him was Fyja, since he was used to reading the emotions in his eyes as well.

Somewhere in his troubled mind, he wondered why he would call his brother away. "Have you been troubled before?" He asked slowly, turning his head toward his brother, in question.

Fyja shook his head. He didn't want to go without at least trying to help. He blinked slowly at Tshila's question and then nodded. 'I have.' His eyes said, though that was only half the truth. 'Every day.' He worried about his parents, about his siblings, about Tshila especially. What would happen when his parents were too old to hunt? What if rogues came and attacked them? What if the pridelanders decided they were no longer welcome? Still...

'If you let the troubles overwhelm you, they win.' He puffed himself a bit in emphasis. 'What's bothering you so? I want to help.' If he left Tshila still upset his own troubles would only grow, as selfish a thought as that was. Everyone's would. He wanted his brother to be happy, to be able to relax.
