User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.It happened one night in the big dark Spalding City. It happened so fast, they didn't even realize it had happened until they had failed. Four Thieves, who were famously known as, 'The Four Shadows', attempt to steal one of the greatest treasures of the city, The Candied Heart. A giant Ruby the size of a a fist that was crafted long ago into the shape of a heart. For the first time in decades, it was being presented in the open at a 'The Grande Ball', a yearly charity event for the wealthy people of the City. But what the Shadows didn't know, was that the whole thing was setup. Four equaly skilled detectived mingled with the crowd, watching out for anybody suspicious. Unfourtunatly, the Shadows, being the great theives hey were, hid themselves well amongst the Normal Folk. Each thief met a detective, and finally, had their heart stolen from them. The distraction led to the failure of the capture of The Candied Heart and they were almost caught. The detective were also smitten by their Thief counterpart, also being disracted from the task at hand.

A guideline if you like, you can like someone else if you want ^^ Not entirely required mind you, surprise me. These would simply be... I suppose, the most likely match ups, if you please. In your profile, you put whatever paring is stated here, though that doesn't nessecarily mean you like them (if you don't want them to) just they were the one they met at "The Grande Ball".

THIEVES

My Name is Alexandra “Alex” Brianna Jordan and I've existed in this world for Twenty-three. My Role In the Grande Ball Was that of The Leader of The Shadows; Thief One who caught the eye of The brainer; Detective Three. You see, what went wrong was I have always been headstrong, the center of the attention and the leader of the pack. People have always followed me, from day one, whether I chose it or not. It was only natural for me to become the leader of a group. The only odd part was what I was leading. All of my life I have had a desire to do things others would not dare. I don’t follow the laws set forth by society, not because I am above them but because I like to test my own boundaries by breaking theirs. And so it was, with much effort and with greatly detailed recon, that I found those that would add to my criminal dream. We won’t go into the details of how I found them or how I got into the business of a thief. Let’s just say that things fell into place and I left a potential life as a would-be contributor to society to follow what my heart told me. When the chance arose to steal the Candied Heart, I couldn’t pass it up. Rare gems are a personal favourite of mine. After much work and research I was sure that The Shadows were ready for this. We hid ourselves amongst the crowd and moved about, readying for the task ahead. As was usual I had stood where the others could easily see me, ready to give the signal. In this center point of the room, watching over my fellows and the crowd alike, I was almost not ready for what happened next. I met a man and, completely out of character, I began to speak with him. It started as harmless conversation used only to further my own disguise, but soon I found myself immersed in a deep, intelligent conversation I hadn’t expected from this man. When I realized the time I was shocked to notice that I had yet to give the signal. Panic had set in, though I did not let it show, and I excused myself from the man before me. It may have not been the brightest idea, but I knew I had to get my people out of there. I shut down the lights and booked it, knowing The Shadows would follow.. Some say I'm Well rounded; as the leader I have to be . Well educated and intelligent with great common sense, I am threat in any context. I always strive for perfection, checking and rechecking to ensure there will be no errors. I am a perfectionist, of this I am aware, but it is better to have every detail addressed than to leave it all to chance and risk winding up in jail. Don’t let this fool you, of course, I can be as spontaneous as the next bloke. If something does happen to go wrong I can think quickly on my feet and get my men {and woman} out. I refuse to leave a man behind, even if it would mean getting caught myself. I’m tough, I know I can handle whatever the authorities have, but I am loyal to my fellow thieves and would never let anything happen to them.. Oh, and you should Never forget A little known fact about me, something I have worked hard to keep hidden, is that I actually graduated from university with a Bachelor’s degree. I won’t mention what my major was, but had I not chosen my current path I could have been a productive member of society. Also I have bright, sapphire eyes.

My Name is Andrew Raycroft and I've existed in this world for 18 looong years *sigh*. My Role In the Grande Ball Was that of The Hax (or the Tech) who caught the eye of (short <3) Hot Headed Rookie. You see, what went wrong was My ADHD was acting up again. I was standing at my post not watching for the signal. I really hate getting dressed up and I really hate dealing with people, here I was being forced to do both. I could see the others they were talking with people being "social." I guess I kinda looked suspicious looking being the wall flower(?) that I am. I chose thief as my "profession," if that's what you wanna call it, because the goal is to stay hidden. I was in my corner fuming over my un-comfy pants when the little kid who'd been trying to act like a detective (I think that's what she was doing lol) wandered up to me. Come to find out she's actually a year older than me! I was actually able to hold a conversation comprised of something other than text! I had completely forgotten about the mission, engrossed in my conversation with this girl. I must have missed the signal because the lights when out and I bolted. Some say I'm Anti-social. And there right. I hate dealing with people. People change there mind, people make mistakes, people are completely illogical. I spent most of my life surfing the web. My parents tried to home school me but quite frankly they were n00bz. I learned most of what I know from the internet I stole my first identity at the age of 9 and got myself I computer that didn't suck. at 12 I got my bachelors in Computer Science from an online college. But it was just something to burn the time. I'd never get a job. Oh, and you should Never forget you can find just about anything on the internet. Just because I spent most of my time in front of a computer, doesn't mean I'm weak. I've got a knife and I know how to use it.

My Name is Miranda "Meera" Harris and I've existed in this world for 21 amazing years. My Role In the Grande Ball Was that of The Thief Three. (They say I'm a 'Distraction' Whatever... I am good at what I do.) who caught the eye of The lead detective that foiled us... I've always been one for a man in uniform. Especially one with sharp wits like his *sigh*. You see, what went wrong was I was SUPPOSED to coerce all of the security guards into following me and knock them out in the closet but that last one... UGH! he just saw right through me! When I turned my back he tried to wrestle me down and by the time I'd gotten up he was already calling in the cavalry... I didn't even have time to warn the others! . Some say I'm A Bimbo but I'm just extremely skilled with getting men to do what I want them to do.... Oh, and you should Never forget I may come off as your run of the mill ditz but I've been around the block a few times and I know when you are trying to pull a fast one on me..

My Name is Alerion, but the gang just calls me Al, and I've existed in this world for 24 years. My Role In the Grande Ball Was that of The Gun. I caught the eye of The Ex Con. You see, what went wrong was I made the mistake of leaving the heavy weaponry back at the hideout. I didn’t bring any of the weapons I kept in cases. I figured the job was going to be simple for me, didn’t even think I’d be firing a single shot on a job like this one. This was a more subtle, quiet job. If only I had planned ahead better.. Some say I'm the kind of person that just leaps before I look. I shoot first and ask questions later…. literally. Oh, and you should Never forget …if you tell anyone about this… you’re gonna find yourself with a bullet hole through your spine .

Weapon List~
-The Mini gun [on keychain in right-hand pocket]
-The 2 Automatic pistols [on each hip on holsters]
-The Sniper rifle [in a case kept at hideout]
-The 50 Cal. Machine gun [in a case kept at hideout]
-The Grenade launcher [in a case kept at hideout]
-The Knuckleduster [in left-hand pocket]
-The Beretta 92FS [on left-hand side holster]

My Name is Delphi Evans and I've existed in this world for 20 stupid years. My Role In the Grande Ball Was that of The Detective number two, the Ex Con who caught an eye on Thief Four, aka The Gun. You see, what went wrong was I was just strolling around the room, stopping occasions and keeping an eye out for anything suspicious, and I saw this guy who seemed to make an effort not to be noticed, at least in my opinion. So, I got suspicious, of course. So anyway, I casually made my way over to the part of the room where he was thinking that I better keep a closer eye on him. We ended up conversating about things as trivial as the weather. Although, he seemed really nice and honest. Maybe my suspicions were wrong. Anyway, in the middle of our conversation, the room suddenly went dark for a little and when, finally, the lights came back on, he was gone. Oh well. At least the jewel was safe and I could go home. Mind you, I'm not a fan of being dressed up like that.. Some say I'm serious and calm through most situations though I've been told I have a knack of being a little sarcastic. Let's hope that's true. Oh! And I'm quite cheerful when I've gotten a new case that seems interesting or when I'm not working.. Oh, and you should Never forget I'm an average seized woman, but don't mess with me. I have a rather unpleasant past..

User Image

My Name is Ellie Halleway and I've existed in this world for nineteen strong years. My Role In the Grande Ball Was that of The Hot Headed Rookie, Detective #4 who caught an eye on The Maestro of Technology, Thief Two and ala Techno Geek.. You see, what went wrong was I've always been a strong minded, intelligent and hardworking girl. Since I was just a little tyke I'd aspired to be a detective, someone who can help get the bad guys. I worked my butt to get the best of the best. I've always been a little vertically challenged, as my mother used to tell me, and so I had to work extra hard to get my voice heard. Well I worked, and it paid off. I was accepted into the police force, and promoted into the detective team. And still, I did coffee boy work. Eventually they saw me for my worth, and a big case came up. The Shadows. Chief concuted a plan to catch them and I had been included! My first big case! And I would prove I could do the deal. So I got prettied up, a novelty bonus but couldn't let THAT get to my head. And then, as I was lurking around the central ballroom, being all detective-like and stuff, I saw a suspicious guy wandering around the fuse box and security room. Naturally, I wandered up to him, being all nonchalant like and asking why he was there. I hadn't expected to get into such a fervent conversation. Boy was he a cutie, once he got started so passionately on a topic. Then, before I knew it, the night had flown by and there was a clutter. The lights flashed off, there was some screaming, the ligths came back on and the guy was gone. Tch, Candied Heart was still safe but... as far as we were concerned the Shadows had played their part and scat. What a complete and total failure. Some say I'm abit hot headed and short tempered. Well, I say amen to that. I'm a small person by birth, naturally. My family is... well, they're not small but there are no giants either. So, as you can imagine, I get treated like a kid... ALOT. Because of this runted height and to make up for it, I'm got chords of steel. My bark will break you and my bite will destroy you. Haha, but I'm not all vicious. I'm smart and a quick thinker... oh, and I also have my lazy side. And when I decide to be lazy... well, I get REALLY lazy. I like to relax every now and then but more often than not I'm trying to prove myself, haha. I'm a nice person, when I want to be. All I can really say is you get to know my many sides for yourself. Oh, and you should Never forget, I'm small, but I've got spunk. Never underestimate me or you'll regret it.

A sigh escaped Ellie's lips as she lay slumped over her work table. Pale bags could be seen under the girl's closed eyes and a crippling sense of irritation hung around her. Her long brown touched-red hair fell around her in a mess, no longer combed to perfection and pinned up in the simple yet tasteful style it had been just hours before. Her clothes were crumpled and everything about her suggested that Ellie had not gotten a very comfortable return to HQ, nor happened to be in a very good mood at all. Her arms stretched limply over her paperwork and occasionally a groan could be heard from the small girl's lips as if her very soul were being sucked out.

Her one night of glamour and she had lost sight of her work, oh, how could she even deserve to call herself a detective at this rate! She was raw but she'd always worked hard and reaped the results. Now that she'd finally gotten to do some big time stuff and she'd failed miserably. Oh yes, this was the inner rantings of someone who was WAY too hard on herself. Ellie had always felt a sort of inferiority complex because of her unusually stunted physical state for her age, but she well made up for it by her quality of work and when she didn't even have that Ellie self-bashed herself waay too much.

But that guy she'd met, oh, there was something about him... and he even suddenly disappeared, all before managing to get a name too! She had her suspicions about him and a part of her mind told her to keep tabs on those thoughts for now simply for the want and curiosity of meeting him again. Well, but that was what happened at parties wasn't it? And they'd never see each other again. But never mind that! The less distractions, the more she could focus on her work, and next time she wouldn't let herself be bested by the Shadows.

In a sudden rush of movement, she stood up, palms mashed against her desk and dark amethyst eyes narrowed. Tch. What now. And the LAST thing she wanted to do was paperwork, anything to escape reliving her failure. Hastily patting down her ruffled clothes, and grabbed a comb and brushed the tangles out of her hair, howling when it caught at the knots.
"Arg! This is NOT cutting it for me." Once more, Ellie sunk into her chair despondently and groaned. Well, there was just one thing for her to do now. Coffee. Standing up and grabbing her purse, she left the headquarters and proceeded towards the nearby coffeshop. That place always did wonders for her. Simply wonders.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.lerion was sitting on the couch, bent over the table. In front of him was an open case with parts to his sniper rifle. He sat quietly, checking and re-checking the weapon. He stole a glance up at Alex, knowing that she must have felt responsible for what had happened. She was pacing the floor in front of him. They were both waiting for the other two to come back to the hideout. They had gotten split up and were forced to find their own way back. He hadn't moved from the spot on the couch since he had gotten there; afraid that if he said something he would make things worse.

Ever since the group was formed, he had taken a liking to Alex. It was her charm and her ability to perfectly plan every situation out. The way she was able to think on her feet, and like tonight, be able to get the team out safely. Of course, everyone else generally liked her as well, hence her being made the leader. But one thing Alerion knew she didn't like was leaving someone behind. He knew that she would have a task for him at any moment, that they would leave to find the other two 'Shadows'. Which is why he was checking his guns. He decided he would be prepared this time. He would take the sniper with him in the case. He had a hunch that, if Alex gave the order, he would be on a rooftop overlooking the area as she scouted for their comrades.

Perhaps his silence wasn't helping her. He looked back down to his weapon. "It's not your fault you know. We weren't prepared. We all made mistakes in there. Hell, I even found myself conversing with some woman.... and I never talk to people." He screwed a silencer onto the end of the gun. "We should take the car this time. If were going after them."

As soon as she was back in her office, Delphi practically threw of the simple black dress she had been wearing and put on her black jeans and loose grey tee. She sighed and flopped down in her chair as she just looked at the paperwork on her desk before turned her gaze out the window. This had been a complete screw up, there was no denying it. The only good thing was that the damn stone was safe. Leaning back she closed her eyes and just relaxed for a moment until she heard someone shout and stomp out of the building. Chuckling she could only imagine it being the newest edition to their little group of four. So far, they were the only ones that had returned to the headquarters. The two guys had probably been held up by some talkative pretty lady. That would be an amusing fact.

She straightened her back and sat up properly, looking through all the papers that just were waiting for her to read. Most of them were either small fry jobs or reports that had to be filed. She hated paperwork but the again, who didn't?
She was bothered by their obvious failure though. How could all of them be so mindless? Thankfully, it seemed their beloved targets, aka the thieves had been just as mindless.
She then started to work on reading the papers, wso she could get them of her desk.

User ImageRapid, frantic heartbeats seemed almost to crash in Alexandra’s chest as she paced the room in which she and Alerion waited. They had escaped back to the hideout but still they waited for the others. Nerves weren’t usually an issue for her but when it came to the Shadows it was always a different story. They were like her siblings, the little brothers and sisters she felt responsible for. If anything happened to them she wasn’t sure she could ever forgive herself. Stopping for a moment, Alex glanced out the window, her amber gaze glimmering with the worry she was feeling.

Turning about, Alex looked back to Alerion as he spoke, his kind words striking her heart with joy. The smallest of smiles, weak in nature, slid across her lips. “Thank you, Alerion, but it is my fault. As the leader it is my responsibility to ensure everyone is safe, to ensure that things go as planned. I shouldn’t have left.” Those last words were spoken more to herself, though she didn’t bother to lower her voice. Pacing once more, Alex dropped her gaze to the floor.

She had yet to change from the ball, her long silky black dress flowing from her body. It’s low back revealed a great portion of her soft skin, her slim figure appearing more frail than usual. Though it couldn’t be seen due to the length of the dress, silky black shoes covered her feet, raising her height several inches. She had been too worried to bother changing as of yet, but if she went out to search for them she knew a change would need to be made. Finally stopping, moving to the window and pressing her forehead against it, Alex sighed, looking out at the street. “You may be right. We may have to go in search. Though, I think one of us should stay here, in case they return.” Turning about once more, Alex’s eyes seemed to set in stone with that determined gaze that showed she would have no argument. “I will go in search. I want you to stay here. I can’t risk loosing you as well.”

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.lerion was comforted when she spoke his name. She was the only one in the group that used his actual name, everyone else tended to call him 'Al', but he never minded the leader using his name. His comfort soon faded when she turned to him with her eyes fixed upon him. He knew what that look meant. It meant he was going to be left behind. "You haven't lost anyone. And I will not stay here and do nothing. What good am I here? I am of no use to you sitting in this empty room." He understood that she didn't want him to be put in harm's way, but he refused to let her go out alone.

He put the weapon back in the case. Grabbing the handle of it, he got up from the couch and held the case at his side. "I'll take the rifle along and stay out of sight on the roof tops. I wont be in any danger and I can make sure you're safe." Alerion realized he might be coming off as too protective, which would definitely make things awkward; let alone the fact that such a situation would require both their efforts, but the way he was sounding would likely not change her mind. He rarely spoke against the leader as her plans were always precise and well thought out, it would generally be ignorant of him to argue, but in this circumstance he felt he had to make an exception. "I know it is not my place to argue, but they're our comrades and I feel just as responsible for this night... Besides, this way I can get a bird's eye view of the scenery and lend an extra set of eyes in the search."

It must've been an interesting sight to see. This tiny red headed girl striding almost purposefully into the Evening Coffee House. Most people mistook her for a Middle School Student, on account of that small stature and her young face. It wasn't often nowadays you came across such people, and it had certainly been an effort to make her look mode adult. Consequently, Ellie tended to wear clothes that made her look more mature, and of course there was the magic of make-up too but she was never a fan. Currently, her rusty red hair fell in lazy waves down to just past her waist. She wore a pair of skinny dark blue jeans, black low-heeled shoes and a dark brown one sleeved top with gold swirl designs. It was a cold night, and over her ensemble she wore a long black coat with an array of silver buttons, because buttons were cool.

"Elinor... what brings you here m'dere?"

Mr. Horitz, the master of the coffe house looked up from his place behind the bar wiping a coffee up with that kindly smile of his. There were few people in the shop, it was designed to be a slightly out of fashioned coffee house but the antique feeling made Ellie feel comforted. Running a hand through her hair in an agitated manner, the detective forced an awkward smile onto her face and strode up to the counter.
"Things aren't going well on the job. Can I have four to take away pleace Master? The usual stuff please" The Master chuckled good naturedly and nodded as he turned to brew the dark drink. The aroma that had sunk into the wood coupled with the sounds of the Master using the small, manual coffee machine calmed Ellie. No longer so angry, she sat on one of the cushioned stools in a tired slump as she waited for her coffee.

One of the perks of this place was that it was close to HQ, and it was exactly her style so she came here often whether to just settle and have a chat with the Master or bring some good coffee back to her collegues. And he always used her first name. While Ellie generally preferred her often-used nickname, it made her feel a little bit more adult when he called her Elinor, but that was a right reserved for few people. The comforting feeling of the coffee house almost put Ellie into a well needed rest when the young detective heard a quiet clack on the table as the Master served her coffee. She looked up and thanked him with a grateful smile and picked up the take-away cups he had prepared her drinks in. Normally the best part of the Evening Coffee House were the antique cups the Master served his drinks in, but for Ellie who came and went often he made her a special brew which she could take back to the others.

While it wasn't served in a classicly decorated teacup, the drink was all that really mattered and the Master simply made it just divine. Ellie arrived back at the office a good few moments later. As far as she could see, there was only Delphi, dressed back in her usual casual wear, working on paper work. Picking up two cups, Ellie strode over to the much romured about ex-convict and wordlessly offered the drink to the woman. Chief's crew was made up of few people, and the kind most would call young and inexperienced too. THe recieved many odd jobs, and there was always some gossip or two floating around about them. But the Chief was a competent man, and although young himself he was well respected and conducted them well.

Miranda leaned heavily against the wall of their notorious 'hideout' and sighed, she was once again the reason for failure... of course she was. No one ever though she was good at anything, except taking watchful eyes off of the prize and gluing them to herself. She grumbled quietly and tucked back straight locks of rose red hair. "Might as well face the music... Alex is going to kill me..." she whispered, crossing her arms over her chest before going to the door.

She quietly slipped inside and hearing voices stopped, Alex and Al were talking about something important... and from what she heard their fourth member hadn't returned either. Hopefully he hadn't died in the escape. Her heart leapt with sadness.... What if he HAD died? She shook her head. No. It wasn't possible.

Quietly she moved forward into the room and made to announce her presence as she eased into the next room, "Hey... I'm back. Sorry if I ruined everything... I am glad you made it back okay." she offered, her heart sinking as her fears were confirmed: the last of the number was not home yet.

She always blamed herself for losing focus and doing something wrong but she was rather certain it was just that luck wasn't on their side that night. She took a moment in her reverie to admire Alex's gown... having not seen her since they'd gone separate ways... she was so much prettier in her dress than Miranda was in her own. The dress itself was a floor length fire engine red number with a plundering neckline meant to show off Miranda's assets in all their glory.... great for her particular task that night. Alex was the vision of elegance and a little risque... but Miranda just felt like a well paid hooker.... again.... all in the plan but a little depressing. "If you guys need to go look... I'll stay. I don't want to be in the way." she offered again, smiling as sincerely as possible through her self-blame.

User ImageAndrew was walking down the alley ways towards the hideout. He wasn't quite sure of the way, but he saw some of his security cameras so he wasn't completely lost. As he wandered around, he wondered how the others were doing. Even if they had already made it back he never told anyone any of the passwords to his computers so the cameras were pretty much useless to anyone but him. "Maybe if I had trusted someone I wouldn't be in this predicament." He thought to himself. "Lol...trust." He said aloud.

Finally he came to a building that looked familiar and was able discern his relative location. He pulled his knife from it's holster just above the right ankle and spun it in his hand as he walked. After a few more minutes he heard Miranda's voice, "If you guys need to look...I'll stay. I don't want to be in the way."

The girls were still in there formal ware. Miranda was as stunning as ever, but Alex's slim build was complimented well by the dress. As Miranda finished offering to wait, Andrew walked up from her side. "Don't bother." He continued to walk, "That raid was EPIC FAIL." He said as he passed by Alex and Al to take a seat in front of his computer. He booted up, spun the chair around and said, "So what now?"
