Kanti was a young cub, one that liked to do those normal cublike things. She liked to explore under every rock and leaf. So today she was going to explore, she wasn't sure where her siblings were nor did she really care. She knew that by the ways of the pride her siblings were more important in some way then she was. She was too young to really get what it meant but she was a happy little cub running about here and there making a nusiance of herself.
She had found a rather large rock that she wanted to see underneath of but it was just to big to move. She pushed it and jumped on it and even tried to bite it but it just refused to move. Stupid rock why wouldn't it move? She gave it another push but yet it still refused to budge. Strange, normally she had no problem moving the silly rocks but yet today it seemed to just refuse. This was very strange indeed!

 Eyri was enjoying a quiet moment by himself near the edge of the males lands. He had just gotten done taking a nice relaxing walk and had paused to take in the scent of a near by flower. A flash of something vividly pink caught the lions attention and he tilted his head. Had it just come from behind that rock.
Curiosity got the better of him as he saw just a flash of it again from the other side. Stepping forward slowly. The lion was able to see over the rock before he approched to far and had to stop himself from laughing out loud and possably startling the little cub behind it. He took a step back so he wouldnt look so big and sat down.
"Hello back there." he said as he tried to lean out and peer around the side of the rock.

Kanti looked up as she heard someones voice. The white male was erm, very white, a bit like her really.
"Hello!" She smiled in a cub like way before turning back to the rock trying to work out why it wouldn't move. She ran at it again, head first and found that instead of it moving, her head suddenly hurt, a lot.
"Owwwww... stupid rock." She mumbled while laying down. Her head really hurt!

Eyri blinked a little bit as the little cub pounced at the rock he couldnt figure out what she was trying to do. "Hello there, what brings you here little one?" he asked her as he watched her with a keen interest. The way her body wiggled and she swatted at the rock it was almost as if she was trying to will it to move out of her path.
When she hopped down from the rock and ran head long into it he could only wince and shake his head. Cubs where fasinating as it often took something as drastic as running head long into a rock to understand. "Well..the rock didnt do anything dear, you're the one that chose to run into it."

She looked up at him and smiled,
"Oh I am looking at things. I like to see and know lots." She smiled. One way or another she would get under this rock and so she tried. However it seemed however many times she ran head first into the rock it really didn't want to move for her.
"This is a stupid rock! It won't let me see whats underneath it!" She looked up at the male again as she spoke, a little sad look in her eyes. She only wanted to see what was underneath it! It wasn't like she was trying to kill the rock or anything, she was just curious.

Every time the little one ran into the rock he winced. She was going to end up hurting herself before she learned the lesson.
"But even though you want something doesnt mean the rock will move for you. That rock is big and heavy and has stood there for many many years. Sometimes a bit of curiosity is good, but you cant have everything you want."
He hoped she was going to listen to his message as he approched the rock he knew with a little effort he could move it, and even though she was giving him that look he was going to try and hold his resurve.

She wasn't quite sure what he meant. All the other rocks moved so why wouldn't this one? She only wanted to see what was underneath it, why was it being so awkward?
"Normally I can move the rocks though... this one is just silly." The look on her face didn't change and the way she spoke showed her ignorance and innocence. She really didn't understand why it wouldn't move. It wasn't her trying to be stubborn or demanding, she honestly didn't understand that this rock was heavier then the others and that she won't be able to move it at her age.

Eyri frowned a little as he tried to figure out a different way of making her see and understand. Not everyone learned the same way and it could be that she might not learn until she was granted a head ache from trying to move the rock too many times. His tail flicked back and forth in thought as he mulled it about in his mind.
"Well, its like this little one. That rock has been placed there for many and many years. It is larger than you are and its weight has settled it into the soil. So not only does it have its weight to help it remain firm... you dont know how deeply rooted in the ground it is."

Kanti just looked at him completely confused.
"Weight?" She wasn't quite sure what that was. She didn't know what it meant nor what rooted in the ground meant either. So she just stared at the male as if he was the most confusing male in the world.
"The others moved. This should move." She really didn't understand why it would not move. It made no sense to her.
"Will it move if I ask it nicely?" She hadn't thought of this yet. She then moved closer to the rock and looked at it.
"Excuse me miss rock, can you move please?" She looked at it for a while longer but it still didn't move. What was she doing wrong?

Eyri hung his head for a moment as she seemed to still be completely oblivious to what he was trying to say. How could he word at any differently. He sighed a little and flicked his tail. He had one more way to explain it and then he was going to be completely out of ideas. "No, asking it nicely wont help. You see the rock does not have ears." he flicked his own. " to hear you."
He moved over to the rock and placed a paw on it. "Would you say im bigger than you? And that if I wanted to I could push you over easily? See you have been able to push over rocks before as you where bigger than them and had more force. But if you tried to push me over, or any adult, You wouldnt be able to because we are bigger and stronger than you." It was a poor anaolgy but he hoped that using this explination would finally sink in. Females thought process' where a mystory to him.

"No ears? Oh." She was a little confused as she had never thought that rocks didnt have ears just that you couldnt see them because they were like really clever and could make their ears invisable!
She listened to the older lion and watched him talk about the rock as if it were he. She understood though, at least she thought she did.
"So I cant move it because it's big like you?" At least thats what she thought he meant, whether he did or not she wasn't sure.

Eyri nodded at her ethusiasticly, so proud that she was finally getting the idea. He had managed a break through at last! He grinned at her a beaming smile. "yes! Thats it exactly young one. You cant move the rock because its big like me. Its solid in its place and wont budge."
He watched her, watching the wheels turn in her head as she thought it over. It was so nice to have finally made ground, he couldnt stand watching her head butt the rock anymore.

She wasn't sure she liked that though. How could she look under rocks if she couldn't move them? She didn't want to wait till she got bigger. She let out a soft sigh and looked up at the big male.
"Can you move all the rocks then?" She smiled wondering if she could get him to move them all for her so she could look under them. Yes she was indeed a strange curious little thing.

Eyri chuckled softly at the little one, she was so delightfully curious. One day he wondered if she would ever lose that quality. He certainly hoped not, he liked her this way even if it was a little daunting. He hoped she kept a little bit of that nature inside her as she grew, or was able to find out all the things she wanted to know before she became an adult.
He raised an eyebrow. "All the rocks? No sorry, while I may be able to move some of them for you. No one can move all the rocks for you little one."

"No one?" She scrunched up her face as she thought and then came up with a great idea!
"What about if I got lots of lions, then could we move all the rocks?" She smiled widely at him as she spoke. She was sure that her idea was going to work, after all it seemed to all make sense!"
