(AARON AND AVERY)
Aaron had two dollars clenched tightly in his hand. It wasn't as if he hadn't had money before, but this was the first money he'd actually earned at a job (albeit not an official one). A grandmother had slipped him the bills under the table when he brought her a cup of tea without spilling a drop at the bakery where he helped out after school. He'd refused politely, but she'd winked and reminded him that a growing boy could always use a few treats. And that Aaron could not refute.
Now, he stood outside the candy shop on the corner of the next street over from his house, shivering slightly in the brisk breeze. He was going to buy something tasty with his very own money. The thought brought an unbridled smile to his face and he yanked the door open and strode inside proudly.

It wasn’t long until after the first boy entered the shop that a second boy (accompanied by a large metallic looking man) walked in with large green eyes gazing about all wide and in awe. This place smelled wonderful! Plus, there were so. many. colors! Avery looked up at his guardian and grinned brightly, papa knew all the best places to go, this was no exception, but little did the boy know that the tall ‘construct man’ was merely going by guesses and suggestions of what others told him.
Ethe (the metallic looking man) glanced around and then went to quietly look at a display of candy that was in odd little shapes and designs.
Meanwhile, Avery went clip-clopping about in his odd little shoes and was looking here and there before he noticed the boy that had first entered and he brazenly wandered over, "Hi! What candies you likes?"

Aaron blinked, surprised that anyone would be talking to him...he tended to remain unnoticed in dimly lit places, probably because of how well his dark feathers masked his pale skin. He turned and looked down at the light-haired boy who seemed to be almost the inverse of himself in colouration...and also rather feathery himself. Aaron always felt more at home around the feathery sorts.
"Oh, I like chewy candy the best, but I also love chocolate, so I don't know what I should get. Especially when there are so many options..." He looked around at the towering shelves in awe, then looked back down at the little boy.
"What about you? What d'you like?"

Avery talked to EVERYONE. This would be something the other boy would quickly learn as the peacock-tailed boy seemed very much focused on talking to this other young person before him. Emerald eyes pointed up thoughtfully, “Why not gets you some chocolate covered chewy candies? Like chocolate caramananels.” Avery said brightly as he came up with the suggestion, with some problem saying the word ‘caramel’.
The dark skinned boy paused again more thoughtfully when asked about his own preference before he said with a small smile, “I likes lollies and chocolate.” Avery said with a small nod. “Sometimes they make chocolate-lollies!”

The little boy had a point....chocolate covered caramels or toffees would be absolutely ideal. The chocolate lollies he spoke of reminded Aaron of Tootsie Roll Pops as well...maybe he should pick up a few of those as well. The key was finding them in all the clutter of the store.
The pops were well marked if he could find them, but which of the many jars could be chocolate covered chewies? They were labeled in a calligraphic scrawl that Aaron pretty much couldn't decipher.
"That's such a good idea! That's like everything I want in one thing! Have you ever tried Tootsie Roll Pops? They're hard on the outside and chewy and chocolatey on the inside!"

Avery tilted his head at the mention of this new (to him) confection and he shook his head his eyes becoming wide at the thought that such a thing could exist! The world was truly a beautiful candy coated place and needed more exploration so that he could learn all of the secrets! “No, never trieded. I wants some now.” He said in that oddly excited breathless way he sometimes did when he was so excited he could barely contain himself from jumping about. The white feather-tailed looked around as if trying to discern things, but alas, it was useless since anything marked he was unable to read at the moment. Truly frustrating!
