Inikasa'penzi let a yawn roll off of his tongue and out of his maw as he stretched his limbs. A smile decorated his lips as he glanced over to the sleeping form of his mother, the one he looked so very much like. His gaze drifted over to the dark, gray-maned male beside her. His father. A small frown formed upon his features as he shook his head. It was hard to tell that they were even related. Actually if it weren't for the mark upon his shoulder the other would never know.
Shaking his head he let out another yawn and turned away from his parents the smile back on his maw. Stretching just a little more he started a slow jog before breaking into a full run enjoying the feel of the wind against his fur. Running was something he enjoyed greatly. Probably because it made him feel as though he was flying. Something Tizona constant talked about.
After a while he started to slow his breathing coming out in heavy pants as he lowered his head.
In a small den was a rather large family. Six cubs, and two parents were snuggled together. In the midst, a rather pale female layed, her blue eyes wide awake. If she shifted, she would roll over one of her brothers that were sleeping soundly. Her nose twitched. She was tired of sleeping. The sun was already out too! As carefully as she could, she rolled onto her feet, bumping her sisters in the progress and paused. She had to be more careful!
Slowly she tiptoed toward the entrance, making it out without waking her parents. When she saw a flash pass the den, her eyes widened. “Wow!” she gasped, bounding after the blur as fast as her little paws could carry her. She didn’t know how far she could follow, or let alone look around to see where she was going.
She was thankful when the male slowed after she started following. “Hey!” She grinned, trotting after the male.

At the sound of another's voice, a small voice too, Ini blinked and turned his head back before seeing the pale cub. "Hey yourself!" He called back smiling brightly at the girl as he completely stopped, having regained his breath. He turned towards her and stood there with his head tilted to the side.
"I'm Inikasa'penzi! But you can call me Ini."
He told her still smiling. Then he waited, but only for like a second before speaking once again. He wasn't very patient.
"What's your name?"
“Hi, Ini!” She giggled, the little run she had not seeming to affect her as much as it had the male. “My name is Otea. You can call me Otea!” She said excitedly. “I never met another lion that’s … well, not my family?” At this, the cream female circled the older male. “You almost look like my family, but that’s a weird thing you have on your shoulder…” Her head gave an equal tilt as the male’s. She bore no markings, but her siblings had anchors and circles on their bodies.
“You’re pretty fast, you know that?” She gave him a devious smile. “Bet I’m faster!!”

"Hi!"
He chirped back happily taking a step towards her before pausing as she circled him. Shrugging lightly to himself he settled back onto his haunches and watched her as she made her way around him. "Otea? That's a pretty name!" He declared with a firm nod. He liked her name a lot. Nice and simple. Just like both his parents. Thinking about them he chuckled, they had to give him a long name.
"Do I now?"
He asked tilting his head as his brows knitted together. He turned his gaze to the heartless symbol that decorated his shoulder when she pointed it out. "Really? I don't think so. It's from my father." After replying to her statement he shrugged wrinkling his nose.
"Bet you're not!"
“Thanks, I like my name, but I don’t know what it means. I guess I need to ask mommy or daddy about it one day,” she shrugged, it really didn’t interest her to know the meaning, but it might be useful in the future.
“Yes you do! Well…at least color wise you are.”
“Is that so?” the cub smirked. “Well then, I’ll race you to that tree, first one there wins!” She crouched low to the ground as if getting ready to bolt. “Three, two…” Her bum raised in the air; she licked her lips in anticipation.
“…one…”
“Go!” She dashed, going further and further from her home.

"Still a pretty name even if ya don't know the meaning. I don't know mine yet either." He replied shrugging again before chuckling at her softly. "That's pretty cool then." He told her thinking about his own family. It was HUGE but he hadn't even met most members of it yet. Not that he really minded, he'd get around to it someday.
"It is." He replied sticking his tongue out at her. Then she started to count before he could even get ready. Before he really had a chance to blink she had said one and was off! Like a bullet! Not giving it a second thought he shot off after her pushing himself harder than usual to make up for the distance he lost.
Otea didn’t know who else was apart of her family. Hopefully, when she found out, she wouldn’t try to search for them all. Her family was rather large when it came to relatives. Lines would certainly get confusing.
She giggled when she caught him off-guard. Her blues eyes glanced behind her, not seeing the male there. She faltered, but regained the pace she had when she heard the pounding footsteps right beside her. Heeeey he was suppose to let her win! Ini’s legs were longer than her’s, so he could take less steps then her. Quickly he had over passed her, and she was getting real tired. She didn’t even finish the race at the same pace she had started.
“Alright, you win.” She said when she reached the tree. “But…when I am…older…I demand a… redo!” She stated out of breath.

Ini reached the tree rather easily once he had found his pace. All of his constant running definitely helped. And his much to energetic mother as well. He panted softly before glancing at the girl he had just beaten. "You're on." He agreed with a nod and a happy smile. He sat and leaned back against the tree tilting his head back and gaze to the sky.
"You run pretty fast though, I'll admit it. Just gotta work on pacing yourself."
He told her lowering his gaze back to her before gesturing for her to come join him.
"You need to learn not to start off at top speed, you'll tire too quickly and won't win that way."
“Pacing?” She hadn’t heard of the word before. “What’s that?” She was a kid after all.
She followed him at his gesture, plopping on the ground with a thud, her little forelock messily covering her eyes. Her tail raised and lowered as it thumped the ground. “I guess I’ll practice against my sister’s, but they never give much as a challenge. Maybe you can teach me? You’ll be my practice buddy!” Otea was excited to say the least to have a ‘friend’ that wasn’t her family.
“We can be friends, right?” Better clarify it to be sure.

"Yeah," He paused trying to figure how to explain the word, his brows knitting together in the proccess. "It's where you start out kinda slow and take your time building your speed so you don't max out rightaway. If that makes anysense at all to you." He told her chuckling in the proccess.
He shrugged when she started to talk about her sisters. Then she suggested him teaching her. He thought about the idea for a minute before he nodded.
"I'd be happy to teach ya. That's what friends do!"
“Kinda…”
She jumped up from her current position. “So we are friends then! Oh I can’t wait to tell my mommy and…oh…” Her blue eyes gazed around before looking towards the sky. She hadn’t been out that long, but what if her mom woke up? What if her dad woke up too? They would both be terribly worried about her, one of their daughter’s missing. “I need to go home. My parents don’t know I’m out.”
At this, she looked around. She had come from…that direction…?

"Of course we are silly." He replied with a light ring of laughter as he stuck his tongue out at her again. "We were friends starting from when I introduced myself." He stated with a proud nod. He was quick to declare a person his friend, it was a trait he had picked up from his all too playful mother. When she trailed off her tilted his head in confusion then she expalined.
A frown settled upon his maw. He didn't want to part ways with his new friend so soon! He sighed, it couldn't be helped. When she looked around, obviously confused he smiled because it meant a little more time to play, sorta.
"I can show you the way back, I have a pretty sharp memory of where I came from, which means I passed your den."
“That’ be great!” She said. “If I make it back before they wake up, maybe I can pretend I was never out, and therefore we can play later today!” She said with a smile. “and the next day, and the next day,” that could get old, “and then the day after that!” Inikasa would now have his own little leech glued to his side whenever Otea could get out of the den. “We will have lots of time to play!” Maybe in the meantime, she could think of some new games, or places to explore around her den for the next time she met Ini.
“Do you pass this way all the time when you run? I can keep an eye out for you now!”

"Maybe. I think that'd be lots of fun Otea!" He agreed with a grin and a nod. Having a friend that would be able to play with him lots would be awesome! Of course if he didn't get her in trouble first. That would be bad. With that in mind he spoke. "We should start heading back then, it wouldn't be good if your parents were mad at you AND me." He shook his head. "No, then they might not let us play at all!" That was a scary thought indeed.
"Sometimes, I go different ways usually, all depends on when I wake up. I have spots I like to visit during certain parts of the day but I'll try to run by as much as possible okay?" Ini replied almost bouncing with excitement as he started to walk forward, back the way they came. "I'll ask my mom about some other games we can play when we don't feel like training."
“That would be very bad.” She frowned, quickening her stride after Ini. She didn’t want to not be able to play with him again. She had so much fun for the few minutes she was out. Her siblings would be jealous when she told them.
“I guess then one day you’ll have to show me some of these routes.” She grinned. “I’m holding you to those words of running by.” She giggled, spotting a few familiar boulders. It seemed as they walked and talked, the time went by quickly. “I’ll ask my mom too. She knows some stuff. My dad as well! We will be good to go for days to come with new stuff to play!!” She said quietly, but excitedly, knowing the den was coming up. She had to be quiet now, among getting closer.

When her voice softened he took the cue to lower his own as well. "I promise that I will, IF you beat me in a race someday." He told her thinking that it would be good motivation for the girl. "I'll stop by every now and then, especially after I meet your parents, y'know when you're actually allowed to be out and play." He stated nodding. It sounded like a good idea to him. That way he wouldn't just have to run by, he could simply stop by every now and then.
"Sounds like a good plan to me."
He grinned thinking about all the fun they would have in the future. He was just so excited! "I guess I should probably leave now eh?"
“Ohhh that would be a good idea, then I could just say I was going out to play, and they would know with who.” She giggled quietly. “Good thinking Ini!” It was hard for Otea to keep her voice low.
“I’ll come out later today,” her blue eyes peered into the den. Good they were still asleep. “If you want to come by then and meet my mom and dad?” She pivoted on her haunches, moving towards the entrance of the den. “Don’t be a stranger!” She whispered loudly, stepping into the den.

He beamed happily when she complimented him. He had always been a good thinker. At least HE thought so and that was all that really mattered. "Mkay, I'll try and stop by then." He replied with a nod as he watched her inch towards the opening and peek in. It was nice having a constant playmate. At least it was going to be nice. Wait til he told his mom!
"I won't!" He called back, voice still a whisper before he turned and trotted off back towards his own family.
