Kaimi led Chris to a less crowded part of the bleachers, grinning a little self-consciously. "So, um, how are you?" She started. Then, "I'myoursecretsantasohere'syourpresent!" She thrust the brightly wrapped box at him with a faint blush coloring her cheeks.

He laughed and took it, opening the package and starting to grin as he saw the box. "Thanks," he said as he opened it, flipping through the cards with a fingernail. "Ooh, man, that looks good..."

"I hoped you'd like it." Kaimi smiled in relief. She didn't have much experience with gift-giving. "Theres extra cards in there, too, so you can put in your own recipes."

"Yeah?" he asked. "You know what I'm going to do, though, don't you?" he asked, an evil little grin playing on his lips. "I'm gonna take it to the old ladies at church and have them write down all theirs. Saves me a lot of trouble trying to steal them."
He paused and dug into his pocket, pulling out a handful of candy. "Want some?" he asked her. "I'd rather hang out with you than get stuck standing by Antony for the rest of the party. And my secret santa is getting food."

Kaimi grinned and took a peppermint. "Thanks! I'll bet those old ladies will fall all over themselves to give you their recipes. Whose your secret santa?"

"Rhye," he said, pointing at the twins at the snack buffet. "She's the one with the longer hair. Have you met the twins yet?"
He ate some of the candy, himself, looking at the two in question.

"I met one of them. Kashmira. But I haven't met Rhye... What did you get for her?" She also turned her gaze to the two twins at the snack table. "They're really cute, aren't they? I wish I had a tail."

"What kind of stupid?" Kaimi asked a little teasingly, crunching the last of her peppermint. She didn't think there could really be such thing as a stupid present per se... it was all about the gesture, wasn't it?

"Well, see, what you need to know is what happened the first time I met the twins," he said, obviously remembering a fond moment. "They were still babies at the time, standing outside a grocery store taking turns on one of those horses? You know, the ones you insert a quarter in?"
He grinned. "So when they saw me they started circling me, looking for where to insert the quarter for a ride."

Kaimi let out a shout of laughter. "Thats classic." She grinned. "So what, did you get them quarters and a ticket to ride or something?"

"Tickets to ride," he admitted. "But she might think she's too big for that now," he told her, glancing over at the girl in question. "Bet her sister would take them, though."
Kash had turned out to be a wild little thing. It was kind of funny how much they looked alike but were so different in personality.

Kaimi gave him an admiring look. "Aw, I dont think she'll be too big. You're way bigger. That guy over there" and she gestured towards Cascati "gave me a ride one night. It was so cool!" That being her only experience "riding" with someone, Kaimi still couldnt get over how neat flying was. "Do a lot of people try to make you carry them around?"

"Some," he said with a shrug. "But a lot of them grew up before I did." He was older than he looked, it showed in his calm gold eyes. "I tend to take longer growing than others."

She nodded, looking out over the mass of people in the gym. "My friend Bishop is like that. She still hasn't grown but she's older than me. Hey..." And she paused a second, wondering if she was venturing into dangerous territory. "You said people tried to excorsise you and stuff. Do you know what it's like to actually be posessed? Like... do you hear voices or stuff like that?"
