Mirelle jumped from garbage can to garbage can, listening to the mice scurry back and forth. She was pretty far back into the alley, away from the occasional human that passed by the entrance. Mirelle was foraging. Having forgone ever eating mice again, she had learned how to get by on food thrown out behind restaurants. At the moment, she had just found a decent size bit of salmon and was eating it slowly, alert for any sounds.

Valiant smirked seeing the small cat below her. She surly didn't know how to hide her food well, but damn it all Valiant couldn't take it from her. It simply wouldn't be right. She leaped to another ledge silent as a tiger in the night. mice were a boring meal, no she needed something more fulfilling... and mice just wouldn't do it. Valiant started to head back to the plaza, but couldn't help but think of that little cat munching at the fish. There was something familiar about it... and what was the thing growing out of its back. The answers were too juicy to let slide.

Mirelle licked her paw as she finished the salmon. That should satisfy her until nightfall. Stretching, Mirelle looked around her, wondering what to do with the rest of her day. She jumped down from the garbage can and started to trot down the alley, heading for the exit that would let her out behind the restaurant.

Before Mirelle met the light Valiant pounced out of the darkness behind her and started to bat at the cats tail. Some snake attacking the girl? How dare it! She dug her claws in and bit hard. Hoping to make the 'snake' release its hold on the defenseless female.

"OUCH!!!" Mirelle wiggled and writhed trying to get her attacker to release her tail. "GET OFF GET OFF GET OFF!!" Mirelle turned and tried to bat at the face of the cat that seemed to be trying to pull her tail off.

"stay still or it will bite." Valiant crouched low ready to pounce again with her hind high in the air. if she would have had a tail it would have been erect, but instead a nub remained. Her eyes narrowed, glowing a beautiful gold. absolutely Lethal. "I refuse to see a damsel in distress my lady."

"Or what's going to bite?" Mirelle looked around for any threat, besides this strange cat. "I see nothing attacking me, save for yourself." Mirelle stared warily at the other cat, which was crouching with a determined look in it's eye.

"The thing biting onto you! how do you not notice it."
ignorant cat. Valiant could tell that this one was going to be ungrateful. so why waste her time? After all was she not looking for a meal? Valiant turned and stalked down the ally in front of Mirelle, her nub in full view.

Mirelle stared at the cat as it stalked away, and then it clicked. "Wait!" She called after the cat. Running to catch up to it she laughed quietly to herself. "My tail! It was my tail." Mirelle wasn't sure why she was trying to clear the misunderstanding with the other cat, but it seemed to have a good heart, even if the cat was a little misinformed. Having caught up to the other cat, Mirelle glanced at it's nub and tried to hide her smile.

She flicked her yellow eyes to the other cat. "tail?" her eyes narrowed as she still stalked forward. What was a tail? what was its use? she pondered to herself quietly. some movement in a tree caught her attention. gotcha.

"Yes, my tail." Mirelle smiled back. She wasn't sure yet what to make of this strange cat. Then she fell silent as the other cat focused in on something in the distance.

In a quick graceful leap Valiant bounded to the tree and found herself quietly stalking the bird. she would have prefered a mouse, but birds worked too. Jumping she caught the wing of the startled bird and started falling downward with the bird clutched between her paws. Valiant would land on her feet, she always did.

Wide eyed, Mirelle whistled in appreciation. She remembered a time when would regularly hunt for her food. However, given that she had been hunting inside, Mirelle had never achieved any greater physical prowess from it. Rather, she had learned how to set traps and to out think her prey wit great ease. But that was before she realized that she was killing entire families without thinking. That was the day that her whole world changed.

Valiant smirked. So she was showing off... big deal. Her paw found the neck of the bird and snapped it. Torture was not her style.

Mirelle quickly trotted up to the tree and leaped up to a lower branch, then up to the one where the other cat had leaped in a single bound. Leaving enough space as to not intrude upon her meal, Mirelle sat down. "My name is Mirelle." Looking at the freshly slain bird, Mirelle said, "I've never had bird before. Is it any good?"
