It was chilly out. Tabor sat, a large black dot on the pure white snow. He was at the forest's edge, looking out at the vast whiteness of the world and all of it's purity. It was a very pretty sight to see. He was a bit chilly but not too cold, and he liked to be able to sit and look out at the peace that the white fluff seemed to bring.

Julia walked out of the forest into the clearing and spotted Tabor. As if he was hard to spot...
Something was greatly troubling her...her face was twisted in a confused somewhat frightened expression. She walked slowly and carefully until she was a few feet behind Tabor. Fearing coming any closer she stopped and stared at the ground in front of her, looking at the snow but not really seeing it.

Tay twitched his ears, the light sound of crunching snow sounding behind him. He turned slowly to see Julia staring at the ground. He smiled at first, but it faded as he looked at her. She looked concerned about something. He walked over and sat down in front of her, a worried look on his face.
"Is everything all right Julia?"

She stayed silent for a moment, not lifting her gaze to look at him. Slowly she started to shake her head.
"I...I don't know..." she answered, trembling a little.

Tabor cocked his head slightly confused.
"What do you mean? Did something happen?" he sounded very concerned for her now. The way she sounded and looked bothered him greatly. He didn't like to see her like this.

"I...am...pregnant..." she managed to get out. She still looked at the ground...stunned and confused about her discovery. She hadn't thought of something like this happening. She shook her head again. "We should have been more careful..."

For a moment the world seemed to stop. The words ran in Tay's head over and over before they finally registered. He had to admit he was not expecting this...at all, but now it was a very real thing. He opened his mouth to speak, then shut it again, no words coming out. Tay then thought a little more on this. It was worrisome, just because he was afraid of his parental abilities...
He looked at Julia though, and listened to that last remark. She seemed very down about this. He tried to stay supportive.
"What's happened has happened...and I'm sure there's a reason why," he looked off to the side for a moment before feigning a smile back at her, "This should be a good thing right?" He asked, trying to convince himself more than anything.

Julia was troubled by his long pause, but understood that he must be thinking a million different things. Her own mind was still going over it also, she too questioning her parenting abilities. It was relieving when he finally spoke.
"I...no...yes...it should be. I mean..." She shook her head and then looked at him. "Of course I'm happy to have yours! But...I don't think I'm ready for this, I'm not sure I can handle a kid...or possibly two or three of them! What are we going to do?"

Tabor thought on this. He needed a good solution and he needed it quick.
"Well..." he started, "We have to try our bests of course. If...if we work together raising them I'm sure we'll be fine," his mind drifted for a moment back to his old home with Dulcie and the others. Dulcie had come as an egg and he had to help raise her...
"And my friends. We could have my friends help us. Dulcie and the others back at the cave. I've heard that it takes a community to raise a child right?" He gave a reassuring smile glad to finally have come up with something. He felt more comfortable with the idea of kids as long as he knew he had friends to fall back on.

"Yes...we can do it together..." She sighed. "But I...I like being alone with you...but this...is our responsibility now...and I'm...I'm going to try hard to be...to be a good mother..." She looked up at him, her eyes shiny with held back tears.

He walked up to her, nuzzling her a little bit.
"I'm sure you'll be a fine mother Julia." he said quietly. He was confident in this. Nervous as he knew she was he also knew she had everything on her side as far as he was concerned. Himself on the other hand...

"...thank you," she said softly and nuzzled him back. "We will...have to find a place to live...and..." She stopped then...wondering what the future would hold. Would they stay together forever? She loved Tabor, and she would gladly stay with him forever and ever. She wondered if he would do the same for her...
((Gah, I can't even remember if they talked about life mating or not...or if they talked about living together. XD; Stupid memory...))

Julia was right. They would have to find a place to live. He remembered them talking about that before but they never got around to it. He figured there would be a place somewhere off in the forest that they could stay. He liked the forest.
"And?" he asked. She had just kind of ended the thought without really ending it and he was curious as to what more she thought they would have to do.

"And..." she looked up at him, her eyes softer now, and full of love. She only looked this way when she was with Tabor. She wondered how to put her thoughts and feelings into words.
"Tabor...when we find a place to live together...will we stay together forever? I guess what I'm saying is that...I love you and I'd like to be with you forever. And now...we'll have a family to raise. It might be hard at times...but with you...together I think we can do it..."

"You mean like...life mates?" Tabor asked. He was smiling with surprise and true joy. Julia helped turn his life around...helped to show him that you can overcome luck. "Julia, there is no one in the entire universe that I would rather stay with than you....and I would be glad to share forever, no matter what happens."
