Its starting to hurt again.
Jasiri'ka winced, and stopped moving to sit down. Lifting up his paw to look at his old injury, the male licked the long closed wound and heaved a sigh. It really was tough traveling alone with a leg like this... And it never did heal completely too, no matter how many herbs he had tried, the pain kept coming back to haunt him; to remind him of events long past, yet still seem so recent when he thinks of them.
But he is no longer the young cub who don't know much about the world anymore. It was enough to have his father by his side for a few days and his mother in cub-hood, but since they were separated, it is time to look ahead and go on with life. He was sure they wouldn't have it any other way.
Standing up on all fours again, Jasiri'ka smiled happily to himself, the pain gone from his leg. His tail swinging gently from side to side, the lion started to walk forward again, wondering where he's heading to next.

Siti was out in the rogue lands for the day, her cub back in the safety of the pride. With so many to watch over them and so many other cub for them to play with they were always safe and rarely bored. She wouldn't be gone for more than the day, home before nightfall, but as much as she loved her home she missed traveling just a bit.
Today she was out wandering, simply thinking about her friends. She was hoping to meet a new friend. Even though many travels came to the pride, most did not stay long and with so many others in the pride, one did not always get to meet the newcomers. So Siti went out into the rogue lands hoping to make a friend that she could meet again in her furture travels or maybe even talk to about her pride.
She strolled leisurely along, the scar on her face mostly healed over now and not so visible anymore. She wore the dark orange clam shell her son Udo had given her on a necklace her friend Alma had made out of it. It bounced slightly against her pelt as she walked, humming softly to herself and enjoying the day.

Jasiri'ka stopped right in his tracks.
In the distance, there was a lioness. However, what really caught his eye was the thing around her neck; it shimmered, reflecting the light from the sun off its surface. He had seen one of those on the beach a few times, and was told that it was called a 'seashell'. Of course, although he found them beautiful, it was difficult to carry them around... It was interesting that someone actually made it portable!
Grinning happily, in what he hope to be a friendly front, the male approached the lioness, and nodded at her as a greeting. Then, he gestured at the necklace, "Hello there! Sorry if this is sudden... But... Well, I just wanted to say that you have a lovely seashell around your neck!"

Siti attention was caught by a male whos attention seemed to have been caught by her. She watched him approach nervously but relaxed when it seemed he meant her no harm. She gave a friendly smile and waited for him to get close to her.
When he spoke she looked down to her shell. "Its no problem really. This shell was given to me by me son, it is very special to me. We were out one day exploring when we met some old friend of mine, a herd of elephants. Alma, my friend, put it on the young soft branch for me twisting two together to make a necklace."
"I glad you like it," Siti sat in front the male, "My name is Nabila Siti and I am out exploring for the day. May I ask your name?"

"Oh... How rude of me!" The male seemed perplexed for a moment, but quickly found his smile again. Bowing his head once as a sign of apology, the lion quickly replied, "My name is Jasiri'ka, but most just call me Jasiri... And that's what I'm used to being called now, so its what I go by. Its nice to meet you, Siti. I was just taking a walk around these lands and I couldn't help noticing the necklace."
Hearing about the origin of the necklace, Jasiri'ka gave a sad smile, "You must love your son a lot..."

"It very nice to meet you Jasiri," Siti replied her voice light and a little flirty, she often felt more playful now that she had cubs and it showed sometimes.
Siti sat bring her paw up to the necklace for a second and remember when Udo had given it to her. It was the first time he called her mom and that day he was her own, adopted into her family.
"Yes, I do love him very much. He brothers and sisters as well. They are my pride and joy. I was a wanderer for a long time, then they came into my life and I settled down into my pride and now I can't imagine being without them. They mean the world to me."
Siti looked to Jasiri, "Do you have any cubs," she asked curiously. She was not trying to pry or sound noisy, but it seemed like a good way to open the conversation.

A slight blush crept up Jasiri's cheeks at the returned greeting, but he had no clue why. Blinking at the female, he felt a little lost for words for a second, but quickly snapped back to 'reality' at her question. Cubs... That's a thought. To have a family of his own? To be called 'Daddy' by others, to have a mate; how will that work out? He had never really thought about that; all this time his mind was first set to locate his father, then to wandering the plains.
"Uh...Well," The male stammered, and then shook his head, "No, no, I don't have any cubs. Not even any adopted ones. I've pretty much been traveling solo for as long as I can remember..."
He must sound very silly to this female, who seem to already have several children... He is still unsure of having a family. Still a little shy and fearful of the idea, even though he's an adult.

Siti watched as the male stammered knowing instantly the answer was probably no. He confirmed it and she smiled trying not to giggle and failed slightly. When he said he had been wondering solo for as long as he could remember, Siti thought he was like her. Her mom having died when she was young and her siblings as well, even though she been cared for by prey animal until she was an adolescent, after that she traveled alone.
"I was a traveler for quite some time, but then a made a friend Mito and after that I ran into a awful lion Bara. He blinded me in fight and I ran. I was found by Mito, he took care of me then I ended up with cubs. After that I knew I had to settle down and the night my cubs were born I ended up in Simbafutagi and joined the pride. I love it there and would never leave permantly."
Siti had quite a story and she knew it, if she told it in full it would take sometime, so she gave Jasiri the shortened version.
"Surely you have thought about having cubs and a mate. I love my cub they are my life, my whole heart. Even though I dont have a mate now, I would like one some day. My little Lila is ever curious, she asked me about it once."

Jasiri'ka started blushing again; hopefully all his fur would hide it. He wasn't used to talking about cubs, or even mates for that matter. Turning away to look at an imaginary object for a second to calm himself down, the male turned back to the female, "It seems like you had quite the adventure! I'm sorry about your eye though..." His voice faded away, and the male looked embarrassed for a moment, not knowing what else to say.
"But... You seem to have found a lot of wonderful friends and family." He finally continued, giving a smile as he relaxed. Listening to Siti talk, Jasiri'ka couldn't help thinking back to his own mother, and his smile grew. Nodding slowly, he added with a soft chuckle, "I think... That is the power of a mother's love. If my mother was around, that's what she'll say."
Hearing about the 'mate' question again, Jasiri'ka bowed his head, "Its just that... When I was wondering, I didn't have the time to really think about my future. I had been looking for my father for a long, long time... Ever since I lost him days after finding him when I was a cub. Thinking back, when I was a cub, I used to believe that my mother was alive; that was what kept me going for a long while. I think I'm beginning to finally think; I'm looking to settle down. Maybe even... Uh, well... Cubs? In my travels, I've often heard that they are a powerful life changing force."

Siti watched Jasiri turn away for a moment and wandered if he really did not wish to speak on the subject she was currently bombarding him with. "I did have quite a whirlwind of a life and do not be sorry, that event bought me a blessing."
Siti felt a bit uncomfortable as his voice trailed off but he seemed to jump right back into the conversation. Siti relaxed hoping he would relax, afterall she was going to bite him. He most certainly wasnt prey.
Siti smiled at Jasiri's statement, "Your mother must have been a very wise woman. I can tell you love her very much."
Siti wasnt really surprised when Jasiri said he had not really had time to think about the future. Traveling in the rogue lands often made that hard. She was excited for him however hearing that he wished to settle down and maybe even cubs. Those things brought much joy and occupation to a young lion. "They are most certainly a life changing force, but well worth it."
Siti smiled sweetly and gave Jasiri a mischeviously look before rolling over on her back and batting at Jasiri with her paw. "However everyonce in a while you need a break."
She giggle and batted at him once more encouraging him to play, she was sure he would harm her and figured it would be fun and relaxing.

"I do love her very much," Jasiri'ka smiled, and laughed. It was nice to be reminded about her mother, and he felt almost like a happy, carefree cub again. A little surprised at the change in mood, he blinked at Siti, feeling a little awkward for a moment. However, something in him caused him to nuzzle the female, pushing her gently in 'self-defense' at the batting. Then, he stood still, feeling slightly surprised at himself; he hadn't played like this for a long while, but this was... Different.
He giggled, or rather, chuckled a little as he lifted a paw to fend against the incoming attacks, careful not to use too much strength. She was right; everyone needs a break once in a while!

Siti was a bit suprised at being nuzzled, but she recoved quickly being pushed slightly by the male. She rolled away from Jasiri hopping up and laughing slightly. She moved around Jasiri batting at him tail with he front paw and hoping about giving him small soft swipes.
She was happy and feeling like a cub again sort of. She loved to play and it was not often she got to play with someone at least close to her own size. It was kind of exciting.

He chuckled again, spinning around as he tried to block the attacks by raising his paw. Then, he tripped over uneven ground as he , and fell over on his side. Laying down on the ground, stunned but otherwise unhurt, he blinked at the female. Then, he shook his head and laughed happily, tail swinging and sweeping the ground, gathering up small dust clouds.

Siti was surprised when Jasiri tripped and fell over. She went to ask him if he was okay, but he started laughing and she laughed as well, he paws dusty from play and the newly forming dust clouds at her feet. She pounced on his side gently and stayed there looking down at him.
"It was very nice to Jasiri'ka, you are a worthy playmate." She giggled slightly and hopped off of Jariri. "Unfortunately I have to go now, my cubs will be getting hungry soon."
Siti smiled and started off, "I hope to see you again soon Jasiri'ka."

Jasiri'ka nodded, and climbed back onto his feet, still laughing a little. He was in a mess now, but the play was really worth it; he had not enjoyed himself for such a long time now! He would groom himself in a while, after a meal - Siti's mention of hungry cubs made him realize that he was getting hungry as well Alas, unlike cubs, he had to get his own food.
"Yes, I hope to see you again too, Siti."
He watched as she walked away, and only turned to leave when she was out of sight, a smile hanging on his lips.
