'Looks like a zebra.'

That wasn't exactly a very good description of what she was suppose to be looking for. What color zebra? What pattern? Not all of them had stripes, same as how not all leopards had spots. Cricket scowled at the throbbing from her back leg. Damn that rock. She'd been sure it would fall out on it's own. Apparently it was going to need more encouragement than that.

She kept running and had no plans of stopping. Her canter three-legged looked rather comical, the rock-plagued paw wildly shaking as she ran to jolt the stone from it's place. Come on! "Just get out--ooof!"

Running into things. Nice. "Sorry!"

Mto was in a bad mood. Mto was always in a bad mood. She'd learned not to take out it on random civilians. Her anger was best kept in check until she could thrash the one at fault for it. Damn these abilities. No rest for the wary were such true, wise, not to mention unfortunate words.

--Ow! What the Hell?!

Being as she was a lion, she was larger than any wild dog to begin with. Being the daughter of a goddess, she was upped in the normal size for her own species. Cricket hadn't knocked her over. That didn't mean it didn't hurt. Just because someone threw a rock at your head and it didn't knock you down didn't make it any less painful. She knew that from throwing rocks at somebody.

"It's... alright. Are you running from that lioness?"

Lakisa had learned of Cricket's intentions from Waseme. The queen returned to her just moments after she'd departed. The old woman was ashamed of herself for not doing it first. Thinking of it first? That right still belonged to her. She'd thought about rubbing Banji's face in the dirt a lot. Doing it was a completely different matter. As it turned out, all she needed was someone to lead the way.

"Hey, hold on! I want to help." Ah, running. Did the body good. Until you were old like her and your bones cracked and popped and all sorts of things. "I feel horrible for poor Tayhira, being stuck with those children, and his sister who he also left. The children themselves more than anyone. My son's father left them, the worthless rat. If I can help stop it this time, I'm going to. Somebody needs to teach that fool Banji a lesson in being a real man."

Cricket shook her head in response to Mto, with little time to provide any verbal answer before the lioness in question had reached them. All she managed was, "What are you talking about?" She had no idea she was being tailed. She would have stopped had she known. A few months ago, you couldn't have bribed her with anything to even speak to a lion like this. Things change.

Listening to Lakisa made her heart ache. Was this really the standard family had set themselves by now? Not having a father wasn't so horrible a thing, if the situation called for it. She didn't want any male having say on how she raised her babies. But it wasn't usually like that. It wasn't like that now. This Banji had left because he was irresponsible. And a jerk.

"My father left us, too. No cub who wants to see theirs should grow up like that. If they're a leopard, a lion or some weird mix of them." Cats these days.

Mto looked at Cricket. Mto looked at Lakisa. Mto looked back and forth for every time one of them said something. As someone who got visions of things happening miles away, things that had happened years ago, things that happened miles away years ago and so on, this was the kind of thing she had a really hard time believing. This was what she would call fate if she ever decided to believe in it. For now, luck would do.

"Banji?" she echoed. This had to be a joke. "Are you serious? I've been trying to pinpoint where that jackass is for a long time. He's left so many women behind him. It's really annoying." Annoying because she got visions of their drama and woe. She'd just leave them to assume what she meant. Not everyone was a believer and she wasn't in the mood to debate the existence of things she wished she didn't believe in.

Lakisa grinned wider than the Chesire Cat. "I know exactly which way he went," she informed them, obviously pleased. "I was awake when he took off. He told me he was just going out for water, that jerk. Then he up and left that poor mother and all those babies." She turned more to the South and nodded in the same direction "My mama raised me to track worthless men for revenge since I was young. Between us we can find him in no time."

--Wait.

"What do you mean other women? How many other women?"

In her life time Cricket had thought many bad things about lions. Now, she couldn't believe she'd ever held a grudge against them entirely when there were ones like these two running around. Their sense of justice was so admirable! How could she do anything but like them? They were inspiring. Without them she might have given up and turned back. With them, they would find this no good lion and show him what was what.

Once they, you know, had a plan.

"So... Normally, I don't rush into things." It was true. She was always the dull puppy no one wanted to play with, other than her brother of course, for just that reason. Along with her spite for lions, she was shedding some of her caution all together. "But I didn't come up with a plan. What do we do when we find him?"
PostPosted: Tue Dec 16, 2008 2:11 pm

"I'm a... good tracker too." Mto was an average tracker at best, really. She suspected there might be a few visions to aid them along in their journey, ones she could easily pass off as tracking skills. Or something. "So between us, we should be able to find him."

How many women? There was the question of the century. "At least two more." Silly wild dogs never had plans even when the solutions were simple. "Let's kill him."

Problem solved.

Lakisa hadn't been so stunned in her entire life! Two?! Two more other than Tayhira?! That was at least three! She'd had less crushes her entire life than Banji had mates he'd left! How despicable. Hmph! "As appealing as killing him sounds..." It did. Very much. "The purpose will of him raising his children will be defeated if we drag him back dead. I suggest we just break his legs instead."

Cricket stared for a little while. Then, she stared more. She would only blink eventually because she had to. That was just a split second before she went right back to gawking at them. Suddenly, she remembered why she hadn't been fond of lions and why she thought they were insane. Because they were.

"But... you can't..."

Mto was actually strongly opposed to senseless violence. Violence against Banji was anything but that. He'd earned his own death warrant and dug his own grave for all the wrong doings he'd done. Buuut...

If she did slaughter him, it wouldn't stop the visions of Tayhira being upset. With him dead, she had no chance. With his legs broken, they could drag him back as Lakisa said. A leopard like that wouldn't make the same mistake twice. How hard could it be to keep track of something with broken legs regardless?

"Alright, fine. Let's go with that."
PostPosted: Tue Dec 16, 2008 2:20 pm

"Good!" Lakisa chirped. She stretched out and prepared her muscles and old bones for a long walk. Once she got started she had no plans of stopping. Her two partners in crime were both youngsters. They'd be fine. At least the other lioness would. A lot of promise in her. The wild dog she could work with in time.

First things first. Operation Break Banji's Legs, go.

"Alright, ladies. Follow me. Keep up, puppy. This is no time for slackers."
