Behind the 1st Division Leisure Area and the Barracks, there is a large garden, filled with Sakura trees and several Koi ponds and lakes. Beyond the dense forests, past those gardens, there is a huge waterfall, placed on a large clearing. Few people have knowledge of this place, somewhere in between the 1st and the 13th squad areas.

A fountain atop a high mountain, gives birth to a large river, that after stretching for only a few dozen meters, ends up on the edge of a cliff. The water violently drops to form a lake, and those breathtaking waterfalls, tend to produce the most exquisite rainbows, as they rush into the rocks below.
Several HellButterflies can be seen, flying around the place. The whole region is deprived of wind, thanks to the large rock formations that surrounds and isolates this beautiful landscape and the lake surroundings.

Sometimes, MockaDash comes here for some meditation, or simply to spent some quiet time on his own... The Vice-Captain had also placed some practice targets and dummies on this place and, with his Captain's permission, a cage holding a dozen large, inactivated, Demi-Hollows. Whenever MockaDash needs to train on his own, far from the view of other shinigamis, he comes to this place...

No one else knows of this place, apart from the shinigamis that Mock brings here or tell of this location... Which he rarely does!...

MockaDash arrived at his newfound, favored place to train... He had spent a week placing the targets and transferring the biggest and strongest of the Demi-hollows to this secluded region of the 1st Division gardens!... It was time to test this place out!

The shinigami removed his haori, and the upper part of his kimono (letting it hang by his hakama), and placed it all - along with both his Zanpakutous - on a rock, near the edge of the large lake. MockaDash, without removing his precious kasa hat, flash-stepped to under the waterfall, and sat there - his legs crossed - in meditation...

He was waiting for Suri to reach this place, following the instructions he had sent her, via HellButterfly. He had requested her to train him in some Kidous, and since she wanted his training to take place in a secluded area, away from the 5th Division grounds, Mock had suggested this one... He was going to try it out for the first time!

(( I made this PRP training thread, in a way that I can later come back here and perform other PRP, with other RPers... I hope you don't mind xd ))

:With quiet steps, Suri appeared above the waterfall. She was dressed in impractical clothes for such a mountainous area, but they had been her representative clothes ever since she had been promoted to a Lieutenant position. In that time, she had also mastered the art of silence - out of all the Vices and Captains, she was one of the most undetectable, if not the most. It worked to her advantage that many usually tried to listen for rustles since her red-white demon kimono was so voluminous.

Barely pushing her toes off of the cliff side, Suri started flipping down, using the kimono to her advantage to slow her descent. There were other ways in which she could have approached the situation, but they would have taken too long and required too much energy.

Landing softly on the edge of the lake, Suri stood quietly, waiting for MockaDash to return from his meditation. If he was talking to his spirit about vitally important matters, it would not be in the best of her interests to disturb him. However, with her immensely crowded schedule, she was hoping that he would return soon.:

Form behind the falling water, Mock opened his right eye only, and stared at Suri. Were you trying to caught me off guard??? He smiled warmly. No, that's not it... I forgot how you like to do stuff that way... Always silent... MockaDash leisurely stood up as he talked.

Actually, Suri-san, I was in tune with my surroundings - let's call it that... No entity, possessing traces of reiatsu, no matter how faint they might be, could pass unnoticed to my senses... It's a thing I've been used to do, since I've joined the 1st squad, and one that I've practiced everyday... You see, A long time ago that was one of my weaknesses - reiatsu perception... And since I believe that one must first surpass at the things he lacks, in order to improve himself, nowadays, this is actually one of my best and well trained feats!!!... MockaDash grinned, just as he shumpoed, leaving a residual image of himself still smiling.

The shinigami appeared next to his zanpakutous, and picking them up, he turned to Suri once more... So, how do we start, Suri-san??? And first of all, let me express my gratitude to you, for taking the time in your busy schedule to come all the way here and train me!!!... I know how it must be for you, you must have a lot of requests for kidou training at the moment!!! I appreciate your effort!!! Mock sincerely bowed at his "guest"...

:Suri gave a slight not. With a quick glance around the lake area, she spotted a boulder across the water that would do nicely for their training exercise. She had a feeling that the work would not take long. MockaDash had to be accomplished in order to be a lieutenant, although there were past examples, such as Renji, who had been lieutenants poor in the art of kidou.

"To begin with," Suri requested softly, keeping her tone low, "I would like you to demonstrate the hado that you do know on the boulder over there." She pointed to the one across the lake that she had spotted earlier. "I need a simple gauge of your current abilities."

Stepping to the side in order to give MockaDash room, Suri studied his movements carefully as he started to focus his reiatsu. She had full confidence in his skills and abilities, but it was still reassuring that the surroundings were moist. In case any kidou got mis-fired, it would take a while for the forestry to catch ablaze, giving her enough time to put out any such situations. That, however, would be a worst case scenariou that rarely ever happened.:

MockaDash nodded in consent, as he began raising his right index finger, at the targeted boulder. Hadou #4 -- Byakurai The shinigami said, and the White Lightning jolted from the tip of his finger and precisely struck the center of the boulder, blasting it into smaller rocks and continuing its path until it hit the water ahead. At the same time, Mock was chanting the following... Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! The water on the surface, where the Lightning was dispelled, burst into vapor. The rocks were flying everywhere, electricity still being discarded into them, as wild sparks were being jetted across the air.

Without waiting for the smaller, resulting pieces, of the large boulder, to hit the lake, Mock followed up is casting... Inferno and pandemonium, The sea barrier surges, March on to the south!
Bakudou #4 -- Hainawa! Hadou # 31 -- Shakkaho!!!

From both of MockaDash's hands, as he raised his arms in front of him, several reiatsu beams with the shape of swirling ropes appeared, and throwing themselves at the several rocks in the air - from the resulting explosion caused by the Byakurai - got a hold of them and suspended them in midair for a second. More than enough time, for the third and final kidou to be discharged through the net of reiatsu that now was the Hainawa and completely reduce the rocks to dust! A red energy flux could be seen, spreading along the initial "chain" of bright yellow reiatsu, that was constricting the rocks...

As, what seemed like ashes, but once was a solid boulder, was falling into the water, Mock spoken to Suri... I may not know much more than this... But as far as what I've leaned, I've worked hard to maximize their power and quickness of casting... Those I showed you are my favorite ones, and I like to combine them in battle, in several different ways!!!... Mock grinned...

(( The hainawa thing has been seen on bleach, when Rukia defeats the 9th Espada - if I'm not mistaken - by casting hainawa and then rikujoukourou and Souren Soukatsui, and discharges the second through the reiatsu rope that was constricting her enemy... ))

(( Combining is acceptable, especially since you are of a higher level, but don't try to combine more than two. Bleach proved that it was doable, but only skilled kidou users could manage it. Hinamori used three at once, but even 10th squad's Vice couldn't keep up with it. And there are people like lieutenant Renji who can barely cast one adequately. ))

:Watching, Suri nodded approvingly as MockaDash's displayed prowess, but it had been needlessly wasteful in the current situation. There was no reason for him to exert more energy to control reiatsu on different levels since that was not the purpose of the exercise. If anything, he would end up wearing himself down more quickly in the up coming training session. Although she had forgotten Captain Nagi's trademark water bottles, Suri was not too worried with the lake there.

"As proficient as you have proved yourself to be," Suri cautioned, "I warn you not to combine more than two kidous at the same time, and be sure that they are not too close in level if they are difficult. However, since you have sufficient control over your reiatsu, this lesson will progress very quickly."

Picking out a moist, rotting log on the opposite shore, Suri focused her silver gaze, zoning out the dirt which camouflaged the wood. She held up her left hand, palm pointed towards the log, and concentrated on her welling reiatsu. With the leisurely time she was taking to cast the kidou, her eyes gradually warmed to an amber shade, rather than jumping like they tended to do.

"Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, Upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws!" Suri commanded as blue spiritual energy crackled from her palm. "Hado number thirty-three, sokatsui!"

The blue flames jumped from their position in front of her palm, bursting out rapidly, wider in area than shakkaho. Thought it was not as fast as a higher level kidou, the flames still closed in on the distance, flying in a straight course for the wood. Leaving sky blue streaks behind, the flame exploded on the log, bursting it into wild fire. Since Suri had refrained from pouring out too much energy, she watched as the fire slowly started breaking down the wood's composition, not too eager to destroy.

"I hope you paid close attention to the incantation," Suri commented. "You remembered it fairly well for hado number thirty-one. This one, since it has a wider range and is slightly stronger, will require more effort. I cast it quite slow for you to observe.":
PostPosted: Wed Dec 17, 2008 7:34 pm

(( Yep. I know that. Like I said IC I only do it with those since they are my favorites at the point and I've used them a gazillion times xd ))

Mock scratched the back of his head, as he smiled and said... I guess the point of what you asked me to do, was to show you the extent of my proficiencies... Sorry if I overdid it!!! I know that the rock didn't do anything wrong!!!...

I will take your words into consideration... Thanks for the advice!!!... But don't worry much, since I don't tend to "venture" into performing combinations with kidous I'm not proficient with...

Mock stopped the idle chat and focused on the task at hand... The incantation wasn't to hard to memorize, since the first half of it, was identical to that of Hadou #31... The Shinigami chose a log, close to the one that Suri chose, and lifted his right hand, aiming with it at the target Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, Upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws!

Hadou #33 -- Sokatsui!

Since this hadou was very close in nature to Shakkaho, Mock focused on Sokatsui as if he was performing the previous one... Thanks to that, he had no problem in gathering the energies on his palm, and no problem in releasing them. He also had no problem in aiming the hadou effectively at its target - the log, only a few meters away... He had, however, some problems!...

As the flames began gathering in front of The Vice-Captain's open right palm, they first became blue, but soon acquired a reddish tone. As the Orb was shot at the log, instead of setting it on fire, it caused it to burst into splinters, that flew across the air!

Mock had not only spent to much reiatsu on the kidou, causing it to become unstable and explode the log, he also focused to much on Hadou #31 and the kidou he casted wasn't actually nothing alike Sokatsui!...

Turning to Suri, the Shinigami apologized himself... Sorry!!!... Guess I just overdid it, once more!!!... I was worried that I wouldn't be able to release the reiatsu with enough power, that I actually got carried away and used to much!!!...

I also seemed to get the energies mixed up!!! This new hadou you're teaching me, is much more refined - sort of speaking - than
Shakkaho, since you have to cast an actual flame and not simply a destructive orb of reiatsu...

Shall I try once more, or do you want to give me some pointers first???...
MockaDash asked of his teacher...

:As the flame flew through the air, Suri noticed that it started to gain a tint of red, which became more evident throughout. Also, the area it covered was smaller than sokatsui was supposed to be, and the effect was wrong.

"Well," Suri started slowly. "Unless I am mistaken, you said the words correctly, but your concentration was not truly on the kidou. It seemed as if you wanted to cast hado number thirty-one, shakkaho, simply because you are more familiar with it. I would advise you break this habit of relying on familiarity to cast kidous. While they are, in essence, similar because they give reiatsu a definite form, each one is different. You will find that as the kidou type becomes more difficult, the purpose and form becomes more definite."

She got into a position, leaning back slightly on her heels, and pointed her open left palm at the log she had hit earlier. By now the flame had died out because of the humidity, but it would relight quite easily. With her eyes flickering to amber, although the spirit energy hovering in front of her palm was blue, Suri began to recast the spell.

"I will avoid using the incantation this time, just because it sounds so much like shakkaho that your mind might instinctively mix it up again," Suri commented, her quiet voice barely audible over the sound of the reiatsu and waterfall. "Pay attention to the casted spell, and focus on that image next time."

She then shifted her attention back to the kidou, not wanting to blow her arm off on accident. "Hado number thirty-three, sokatsui!" Suri commanded softly. The blue ball of fire once again flew true, streaking over the lake, luminescent in reflection. It struck the log which quickly lit up, eating away at the ashy remnants from before.

"Although you are a Vice-Captain and have tried it once, I do expect you to continue using the incantation," Suri ordered. "However, pay more attention to the type, number, and name since I do not want you straying to shakkaho again.":

Nodding his head in consent, Mock focused his attention on a new target. The Shinigami raised his open palm, and aimed it at another rotting log on the opposite shore...

Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, Upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws!

Forgetting all about Hadou#31, Mock tried to mime every one of Suri's actions. Using his reiatsu control abilities, he shaped the reiatsu, as it was being focused on his palm, into a blue flame.

Hadou #33 -- Sokatsui!

The blue flame flew from Mock's hand and, quickly traveling across the air, struck the log. The wood started to burn, surrounded by the blue flames, and crackling sounds were heard as it was being reduced to embers.

Turning to his teacher, MockaDash smiled as he said... Was that acceptable, Suri-san???

:Suri nodded, pleased with the better display that Mock had put on. While there was still much room for improvement and refinement, it would do for now. He would still have to focus a lot, so it was not quite battle ready yet, but at least Mock would be able to use the kidou in less urgent situations. Since he had the offensive down, Suri decided to move on to the bakudo. Defending, in her private opinion, was far more important than attacking, because one could not attack if one was already injured. That being the case, she decided to leave the hado as it was and move on the bakudo.

"The next and last kidou I will teach you is a shield type," Suri instructed. "
It takes up a fair amount of reiatsu, depending on how big and thick you want it to be. It can block you from physical attacks, such as rocks and such, but zanpaku~tos should be able to slice through it since zanpaku~tos are made from reiatsu also. I have yet to test out this theory, but do be warned. It, also, is not effective against higher level kidous. It will probably shatter with sokatsui or a more effective kidou, although there is a chance of lessening the impacts. Do you have any questions before I demonstrate?":
PostPosted: Wed Jan 28, 2009 11:24 am

No questions at this point!!! Mock answered with a wide smile. He was happy with himself for having learnt the previous kidou in a short amount of time. However, it was more than obvious to him that, in order to effectively use it in the heat of battle, Mock would have to put a lot more training and effort into this technique, before becoming proficient enough with it.

With the bakudou, MockaDash feared it would be a completely different story!...
Offensive abilities came natural to him (even demon arts or shumpo) because it was easier to "discharge" - sort of speaking - the vast amounts of reiatsu he had available. In fact, such amount was hard to keep under control at times, therefore he permanently trained in order to improve his focus and mastery over it. Currently, it normally doesn't take him long enough, before he's able to learn how to release a certain amount of reiatsu under a certain form of energy or use it to produce a certain desired effect. He was quite adept at this - as long as we're talking about "leaking reiatsu into the world".

Defense was not his thing. MockaDash always had great endurance to pain and damage done to his body - maybe it had something to do with the way he "was raised" in Rukongai. One of his Zanpakutou's traits actually granted him further resistance to wounds, by making sure that no - other that fatal - bleeding would cause him to die. Pain, he could felt that anyway. But he had grown kind of accustomed to it.
In his mind, offense was the best defense, so he was actually afraid that he wouldn't be able to learn this new bakudou that Suri was going to try teaching him.

The smile on his face, now only masked the apprehension he felt. Let's get this over with, shall we???

:Shaking her arms slightly so that her sleeves slipped away from her hands, Suri held up her palms, facing outwards away from her. Her wrists were bared, allowing for her to see her hands more clearly.

"This is a more difficult kidou right now, if only for one reason," Suri commented, preparing herself for the demonstration. "As of yet, I do not know the incantation for this kidou. It will take even more concentration than the hado, making it less efficient in a battle situation until you have mastered."

Taking a deep breath, Suri closed her eyes, seeking the flow of reiatsu in her body. Touching upon the warmth, she drew it out towards her palms. Flickering her eyes open, Suri stated calmly, "Bakudo number 39, Enkosen." Her irises had warmed from their usual silver to a warm amber shade, burning with emotions. Her reiatsu appeared suddenly, about two inches from her palms. It started as a circle, quickly expandig in radius. The color was opaque, transparent enough that Suri could see to the other side, but flecks of autumnal colors danced throughout it, slightly blurring her vision of the other side. The shield was about an inch thick, but she did not try to expand the shield too large or make it too thick. There was no need to waste her energy unneccessarily in a demonstration.

"The color tends to be your reiatsu color since it gives your reiatsu a definite form and function," Suri instructed. "The reason it requires such a higher level is because of the purpose it serves.":
PostPosted: Thu Jan 29, 2009 6:53 pm

Mock scratched the back of his head and smiled... I see...

The Shinigami raise his right hand, palm facing up, and instantaneously formed an indigo reiatsu orb the size of a football (( Soccer for you guys, I guess xp )). Indigo then... He said out loud, but was actually talking to himself. Now unmindful of Suri's presence close to him, Mock simply continued to stare at the orb, that gently hovered over his right palm - while producing a faint, but persistent, humming sound - and completed the sentence on his mind... I should try and make it "indigo" then...

Suri was unaware of this, but MockaDash actually had several interchangeable Reiatsu auras, each of them unique of nature, being the Indigo one, his most weak and constantly present...
It was only natural that he though best to try and leak out this kind of energy first. It would be much safer this way to "shape" the reiatsu and become used to the bakudou, although it would surely be also much more difficult. Mock already knew what aura he should gather for this bakudou, but given the fact that it was not only his most defensive one, but also his most destructive - duality was ever present in his life - the bakudou could turn very wrong, very fast!

Letting go of his focus and thus dispelling the orb that was still in his palm - which faded like a flame at the wind - MockaDash took a quick leap back, jumping high in the air and landing about 5 meters away from Suri... Don't worry Suri-san!!! He said, as he happily waved his arm at her I'm just going to try a couple of times first, before getting into the real deal!!!

MockaDash opened once more his right hand, exactly like before, only this time the indigo reiatsu instead of taking on a spherical form, started to adopt that of a flattened disk. Indigo... Indigo... Indigo... He kept repeating to himself, as a few drips of sweat could be seen appearing along his forehead. It was much harder to mold reiatsu into any other form rather than a perfect sphere, since all you have to do in order to accomplish that, is basically keep an even pressure on all sides at all time. But to mold it into any other shape for the first time, was a much more grueling task, since the pressure could not be evenly distributed but still had to remain stable at all times!

--------------------

The first couple of times, Mock could only form something even remotely similar to a disk approximately 20 cm. wide in diameter, which after only one or two seconds would lose stability and vanish. A couple of times after those, he already formed the perfect shape of the shield, but it still lasted only a few seconds.
It took MockaDash about five to six tries, before he was fully able to mold his reiatsu into the bakudou desired form. Now that this was taken care of, all he had to do was cast the kidou itself!... The hard part!

He'd only been doing the easy part. The "shield" of reiatsu he was now able to form, was unable to block anything! It was just that! Reiatsu in the shape of Enkosen, but not Enkosen itself!

Mock placed his hands in the shape of a shell, around his mouth, and screamed over to Suri...Do you have any pointers for me, before I continue, Suri-san???...

Also, you might want to stay further away from me... I can't promise you anything!!!...

:Suri turned to watch Mock, making sure that he did not let loose too much reiatsu. If he happened to be thrown back in an explosion then she would have to be ready to catch him. The thought of that made her slightly nervous since she had not had too much practice with the kidou yet, but she knew it would be possible.

"For now, no," Suri answered. "I cannot think of much advice to give you. I would suggest though that you stick with the circular shape. It is easier because it requires applying pressure to the top and bottom of an orb. Do not attempt a more defined shape, and do not try to curve the shield. Enkosen already creates a definite shape for the reiatsu, so trying to mold that is an attempt to from a new kidou, which rarely ends well when you are first learning.:"
