There were some times when you just knew that there was no chance in the dancing clefairy rings of Mt. Moon that you were going to win. This, Llyri reflected, as he sized up his opponent, was one of those times. The opposing trainer had a marowak, a ground type and an evolved pokemon that was probably at a much higher level than Guidance. For his part, the shinx pranced about merrily flashing his coat and doing fake pounces. He had no idea what was about to hit him, did he?

"Guidance! Be careful!" he cautioned "Be ready to dodge!" He estimated that the shinx wouldn't be able to take more than a few hits.

"Shinx!" he replied, showing his teeth cattily.

Watching the other trainer for a few moments Pippeh shook her head. She did hope that if Jaidev did beat the shinx that it wouldn't be to badly. Pippeh knew that she shouldn't be thinking nicely of the other opponent as it was a battle but she couldn't help it. It was in her nature. "Good luck!" she called out happily before turning back down to Jaidev.

"Jaidev! Bonemerang!" she called out. The marowak ran partway onto the field before throwing her bone at the Shinx. She growled irritably. All the bone-helmed pokemon wanted to do was beat this new opponent and go hunt down that umbreon.

(Okay.. pretend that didn't happen.)

In fact, Guidance was so busy showing off that he completely missed the first attack. The bone boomerang thwacked him squarely between the eyes, almost knocking him out right then and there. He swayed on his feet. If only the world would stop spinning!

Meanwhile, Llyri had been frantically trying to recall all the non-electric moves Guidance had learned. They had to buy some time! Paralysis..it wouldn't work. They were all electric attacks. Finally he settled on "ATTRACT!"

Only too happy to comply, the shinx pranced about, waggling his ears and purring cutely. Given the difference in size, age, and egg groups, there was no possible way this would work, but they had to give it a shot!
