Val sighed and placed another card on the stump in front of her. This one was a cup. She sighed again.
Lately the maji had been very persistant that the caravan travel north, but Val was sceptical. They'd just come from the north in order to go south. She imagined that there might be no way they could have accomplished all that they were supposed to so soon after ariving, but she knew that by even touching one flower and spreading it's pollen into the wind they may very well have set upon a chain of events to accomplish all that fate had instore.
As she glanced around the caravan and witnessed the everyday activities of the gypsies who lived here, she saw several of the newest members and realized that by coming to these southern lands they had gained new members and wagons and even family... and she knew from the whispers on the Maij wind that there were several more creatures of fortune hiding amoung them. She smiled at two such newer gypsies as they passed on thier way to somewhere and set down another card.... travels.
She sighed again.
((For the Fiddle, it needs to get dirty somehow and be washed clean. For the chopsticks they need to be separated and one becomes lost for a moment. There should be a good deal of searching for a short time and then the sticks should be reunited with a feeling of 'glad' that they are whole and not lost after all. ))

Mekah was rather glad that Covet was such a sociable person and had -insisted- that they join the caravan. It was intriguing, a group of people, and children, strange children. The natural forces of the world wer stronger here, within these people and he was eager to explore this more.
The two of them walked across the camp with Scimitar in tow. Covet had made him a brightly coloured leash and collar to keep him from running off and causing havoc, inquisitive puppy that he was. They did not wish to upset their new neighbours.
As they walked past the caravan leader's van Scim started to tug on the lead and gave a small bark, his little tail wagging happily at the sight of Val. Mekah gave him a chastising yank and nodded his head in polite greeting to the woman as she smiled at them both. "What's for dinner tonight?" Mekah asked Covet as they drew closer to their van. His stomach growled and he realised he had not eaten since breakfast that morning.

Covet smiled warmly at Val and gave her a wave before turning her bright green eyes up to Mekah with another warm smile for him. "I was thinking something simple. Some crusty bread and warm, hearty soup," she smiled and reached out to link arms with him despite the fact she knew that he was not fond of her doing so. "Does that sound appealing? Nothing too spicy or anything. I'm in a peaceful mood today," she smiled warmly and glanced around at the others as they went about their business. She loved being here. There were so many new people to meet and the children... she loved children. They were such free spirits and the ones within this family circle were very unique. She was very happy that Mekah had given in and decided that it would be okay for them to join the caravan.

Mekah nodded to himself and looked down to her arm as she decided to link it through his. It was taking a lot of getting used to all this ... personable behavior. "Sounds good." he said as he eased away from her and let Scim off his leash. Of course the stupid dog went straight for the mud that Kai had churned up with his hooves. "Scim, no!" He shouted firmly. The puppy paused for a moment, looked back at him, barked and then proceeded to roll in the mud.
"I swear, I'm going to kill that dog." He muttered storming over and picking him up by the scruff of his neck. "You get dinner going and I'll give him a bath.

Covet smiled as they arrived at their home and he eased away from her. Watching him let Scim loose, she smirked as the pup ran straight for the mud. Laughing as he defied his master, she gave a small shake of her head and started towards the steps to the wagon. "Admit it, you love him," she grinned and nodded at his instruction as she stepped up into the van to get everything she needed for dinner. Pausing in her collection of pots and ingredients, she turned to her corner of the van to search for her chopsticks so she could put her hair up and out of the way while she cooked. Reaching into the drawer she kept all of her accessories in she lifted a brow as only one chopstick was produced. Setting it off to the side, she pulled her drawer out further and started to shift things around in search of the second one.

Mekah gave a fake laugh in the manner of 'haha' and looked down at the excitable puppy as he wiggled in his arms and strained to lick him. "You, are staying here." He said, grabbing the leash and fixing one end to Scim's collar and tying the other off to the van. "Stupid mutt." He mumbled, looking down at his clothes which were covered in mud and grabing a tub from near the door. "lost something?" he asked Covet, watching her rummage for a few moments as he picked up the water jug and poured some into the tub.

Covet looked up at Mekah's voice and a light frown slipped across her brow. "My chopstick, one of the ones you gave to me. It's missing," she said, turning back to her search. "I always put my things in here and one was, but the other..." she paused as she shifted a few more things, "is gone. You haven't seen have you?" she asked, starting to get a slight bit upset and frustrated as she closed the drawer and opened another.

Mekah placed the jug on the floor and walked over to her. He peered into the drawer and frowned as it did not seem to be there at all. "I'm sure it will turn up." he said, reaching out and placing a dried muddy hand on her shoulder. He did not want her to cry or anything over something so small. "I'll buy you some more when we go to town next."

Covet continued to search as he reassured her, then frowned slightly and looked up at him at his offer. "But... those are special. New ones wouldn't mean the same," she said softly, remembering clearly the day that he had given them to her and how happy and surprised and touched she had been. They had been the first sign that he maybe cared for her at all. Turning back to her search, she closed the drawer she had been searching and picked up the one she had as she turned to start searching in other places.

Mekah smiled a little and tried to understand why she was so upset. If he got her new ones he would still be the one giving them to her. She was so complicated sometimes. "Okay." he said, standing and walking back over to his tub of water. "I'm going to give Scim a bath and I'll come back and help."
Scim was still there when he returned, barking his head off and bouncing around Mekah smirked and placed the bowl and soap on the ground. "Right." He muttered, rolling his sleeves up and looking down at his wrists in dismay. His cuffs and bangles were covered in dried mud. Including the little charm that Covet had given him at the market.

Covet looked back at him and smiled a little. "Thank you," she said softly, watching him leave. Breathing in deeply, she reached up to shove her long hair back out of her face. "Okay," she said to herself, leaning back against the small counter space and closing her eyes, trying to think of what she had been doing the last time she had worn them and put them away.

"Right, bath time." Mekah said with a smirk, unclipping the leash and picking Scim up to dump him in the water. This was clearly a great game. The puppy sqirmed and wriggled and barked in an attempt to jump out, his owner however had him firmly by the collar as he reached for the soap and started to scrub his fur with it.
After a lot of splashing and fussing it was done. Dog was clean and shaking water all over an already soaked and very unamused Mekah. Fastening Scim back to the leash he emptied the water and picked up the bowl. "You stay here and -try- to keep out of trouble." He chastised, walking back up the steps to pour some more water for washing his jewelry and clothes. "I don't know what i'm going to do with him." he muttered, looking over to Covet.

Covet had resumed her search by the time Mekah had returned and smiled as she listened to him. "He's just a puppy. He'll grow out of it," she replied, dropping down to her hands and knees to start searching the floor, dinner completely forgotten. "He just wants to play, which I think you could use more of," she smirked and glanced over at him, laughing a little at the state he was in.

Mekah laughed and lifted the bowl up to the table, slipping his jeweled cuffs off and unwrapping the cord that held the charm from around his wrist. "More play, i think i play his games enough, and yours." He slipped the charm off the cord and placed it in the water, rubbing the pieces of dirt off with his fingers. "Any luck with the hunt?" He asked, pulling the charm out of the water and holding it up to inspect it.

As soon as the charm hit the water, it began to vibrate, and with the vibration came a high pitched chirping which could be considered quite annoying. Soon enough the vibration turned into full on shaking, and fiddle charm seemed to come alive... the little strings broke off and became animated like legs, and the neck began to bend and wrench itself around like a head... as it did this, the Charm crawled out of the water and up onto a dry surface... It was hard to tell when the charm was still fiddle, and exactly when during the process it had turned into the shiniest golden cricket you'd ever seen. ((Full grown, Male cricket, stands upon no formalities, many opinions. Not the first bug to grace the caravan, but certainly one of the more difficult... this cricket CAN fly.))
