Despite the fact that the last time she'd snuck away from the cave she and Maji had been sharing she'd found herself in a horribly strange situation... Kinga could not help but leave. She was thirsty, and had been trying NOT to leave, but the need to sate her thirst had won over her instincts and the female had snuck out of the den wiggling out of the hole she had helped Maji create the previous day.
It was still pitch dark, no signs of dawn approaching, and for a moment, the female hesitated, pondering ignoring her thirst and simply returning back to Maji's side. However, she'd not taken one step back when she groaned out loud; she really wanted a drink, and the water pool just just a couple minutes away! She was a big girl and did not need to be accompanied to take a bloody drink in the dark of the night. She could take good care of herself. She could take good care of herself so long she didn't stumble across any more weird lions, that is.
This in mind, she let out a sigh and finally turned to trot towards her left, where she knew the water pool they'd passed the previous day was. Her paws carried her swiftly through the tall grass and after a few minutes of trot-trotting, Kinga reached the clearing that indicated the watering hole. Taking a moment to look first left and then right, she emerged and lowered her head to lap up the water. Ahhh... precious water!
It'd been a few weeks since Audilifu's encounter with Nizuru, but she was already starting to feel the signs of life stir within her. The sensations were nothing new for she'd had a couple of litters before this one, all mortal, just like the one she carried, mere flings with lions she'd encountered, for she'd never been able to settle down with any of them. Not that it mattered; each and every one of her litters had been loved regardless and her lovers had been grateful for the support and love she had offered them, if merely for one night. They had always parted ways on good terms and she was happy to note that the father of this particular litter was doing well (for she'd followed him even after he'd left, just to make sure).
The one male she truly wished to call her mate... was someone she had not yet approached as such. Sure, he was a good friend and he'd even offered to play surrogate father for this one litter of cubs, which she intended to keep, but that's not what she wished. She did not wish for him to play surrogate... she wished for a real mate. Someone she could call hers and someone that would call her his. Someone she could give her all too. Alas, that was not going to happen any time soon. Shrugging the thoughts out of her mind, the goddess dropped from the sky, her wings holding her weight effortlessly till she landed with grace within the center of a pool's waters. The liquid was cool and felt good against her pink pelt with was slowly becoming dark from the humidity.
She was so busy bathing and spreading her wings that she never so much as saw the poor wild dog that remain at the shore, gaping up at the startling sight before her.

That's it.
That was IT. Kinga was NEVER going to leave the den to explore, EVER again. She was never going to go out alone ever again in the dead of night or at the crack of dawn. She was going to grab Maji's ear and DRAG him out with her. That's what she was going to do. In fact, that's what she was going to do RIGHT that instant, had she not been rooted to the spot, gawking at the beautiful figure before her much like a fish out of water.
She tried to leave the place before the lioness noticed her, honestly she tried, but there was something almost mystical about this one. She was so very unlike the other two winged lions she'd seen; while the others had been confusing and something that might have been straight out of a semi nightmare where she wasn't all that sure what was going on... this one was like an angel, straight out of her wildest fantasies. Kinga couldn't help but stare.
And then, the lioness stopped mid bath and turned to look her way. Kinga wanted to die. Or leave. Or die. Or both. Because this was horribly awkward, for some reason, like she was watching something she probably shouldn't have been.
The goddess saw the Wild dog stiffen and swallow nervously, her front paws shaking just a tad, as if wishing to leave yet rooted to the spot. She'd often caused similar reactions from mortals and thus, was not surprised. However, Dili WAS surprised at the fact this was the second time in a very short span of time in which she'd dropped to earth almost directly on top of a mortal without so much as noticing. She was slipping... she was slipping up pretty bad and she had to stop doing that. Preferably sooner than later.
She was well aware that the reason she was slipping in her concentration lately was due to Samsara, however, for now, she pushed those thoughts aside in favor of dealing with the mortal before her. Just from a first glance, the goddess could see that the child needed some guidance, and that was her job after all, was it not? She would guide her and show her the truth. That's what she always did; she only encountered those that needed her, so thus, that meant this soul needed her, "You seem scared," she said with a soft smile as she tilted her head, "Don't be scared. The truth is not something you should fear... in your case at least."
Confusion crept up upon Kinga once more as she stared at the lioness; this one was talking in ******** riddles too. What was wrong with these strange winged lions? Were they all the same? Did they ALL talk in those horribly frustrating riddles that seemed to voice out the fact they knew something she didn't? "Uhm... what?" her ears flopped back, she couldn't help but ask, but then again, her confusion had been evident on her face even if she hadn't asked.
Dili found herself smiling once more as she watched the dog, whom looked even more confused than she had when she'd first spotted her, "Don't look so confused, child!" she stepped slowly out of the water then, extending her wings so they would dry off, her tongue lapping at the pelt on her forearms in an attempts to tame it as she spoke, "I meant that you're running away from the truth, and that you shouldn't. I think in your case it's not all that hard to face," the dog was still looking up at her in that childishly confused way and the goddess couldn't help but laugh softly. She then lowered her head till she was looking the other female in the eyes, "You love him, don't you?"
Kinga found herself gaping as the large lioness lowered her head (oh god was she going to eat her? Was this all a trick?). The words that came out of the feline's mouth were surely not what she expected though; she opened her own to deny it and yet found she could not. Something within her would not let her voice the simple word; it was a coiling feeling that spread along her stomach, making her feel ill at thought, "Yes," she found herself saying instead, and as soon as she'd voiced it, the wild dog felt a huge weight lift off her shoulders.

"Ah," the goddess nodded her head then as if everything made sense, "That's what I thought," she watched as the wild dog looked even more confused than before, the situation no doubt awkward for her, "But don't be sad, child, that's good, isn't it? It means now you know what you didn't know... what you were running away from. So what's stopping you from telling him?"
A lot of things were stopping her from telling him, in all honesty. The fact she was more than half sure he wouldn't take it well... the fact she wasn't sure he'd even reciprocate and thus she'd end up losing a friend rather than gaining a mate, and a long list of other etcs. Her thoughts must have been clear on her face, for she felts the large lioness lift her chin with a finger so that their eyes would meet.
"Cheer up, child. Things are never as grim as we think they are. You'll see. You don't HAVE to tell him yet, but at least now you know? At least you don't have to walk blinding without knowing what it is you feel for him, am I right?" Dili felt the dog give a very small nod, and out of compassion, she lowered her head and lapped at the top of the canine's head, "Everything will be alright. Just you wait," she told her before letting go of her, her wings spreading one more, "It'll just take a little bit of time before you can see for yourself. But mark my words; Truth never lies, and I'm telling you it will all be just fine."
That said, the goddess launched herself back into the starry sky with a couple of powerful beats of her wings and Kinga was left alone by the watering hole, her eyes following the pink, sparkling silhouette till it became impossible to distinguish her from the darkness of the night and the shinning stars above. She remain there alone for a long time, pondering over what she'd only just realised, staring at her reflection as it swayed in the ripples of the pond. It wasn't till it was almost dawn that the dog finally let out a sigh and picked herself up from the ground, slowly walking back to join Maji in their den. Funny, how things worked. This was not what she'd been out to seek when she'd left his side...
Now everything had changed. And he probably had no idea.
