about the things that you own? They see you and may think you have fake problems, considering emo. But what do they think about the materials that you buy to express how you feel at the moment?
Do your parents tell you to get rid of your "s**t"? Do they complain about it constantly? Do they try to fix the problem by taking your things away from you? What do you try to do, besides talking to them??

My mother just tries to get rid of my boyfriend.
But I don't own him, so that was completely irrelevant.

< Meh, I'm not emo and i don't act like I am, but I tend to dress darkly. My mom doesn't really care what i do for the most part, but I can tell she doesn't like the ripped jeans or when i'm a bit grungy. I've gotten a lot more freedom since I started college ^^ >

I could give a **** less about what they think of the stuff I own.
A) Because I don't live with them

B) Because they can't make me get rid of it

I do not consider myself an emo(been working on trying to change my username), although, I like the emo-punk style. My parents, more like my mom, tried changing my mind about it, trying to 'open my eyes to the other styles.' I kept telling her that the other styles weren't really what I liked, nor did i want to open up to them. But now, they just gave up and let me choose my own style.

My mom put my ummmmmm s**t ummmmmm 13 year old "Just Do It" shirt in the trash last year.
I had some jeans that kept ripping and I would try to fix them, those went in the trash as well.
But I understand the reason for it, even if I didn't like it. In the end it was never my stuff, I didn't pay for it.

now my paerents just accept that I dress darkly but they kept asking "Why do you dress so darkly?" I just ignored them

The stuff my parents refer to as"a bad influence or non civillized or whatever" I hide cause its my s*** and i paid for it. So yeah...
