Things had been rather peaceful for the pair. So much in fact that Spade was getting restless. She wanted to do something, anything to get her blood pumping. She hunted every now and then but it wasn’t enough. It was simply something she did to feed her and her temporary mate.
She hated staying in one place for too long.
“Spade?” Jachai called to her arching a brow as he pushed himself up. “Everything alright?” He asked trotting towards her.
She nodded before shrugging. She wasn’t entirely sure how to tell him how she felt. It was complicated, slightly; she just wasn’t sure what to say. Everything she thought of just sounded so rude to her. So…not right.
“I guess.”
At her simple response he frowned. Everything was obviously not right. “Spades.” He said his tone warningly like if she didn’t tell him she’d be in trouble. Of course his threats never worked on her. She always got the better of him.
“I’ve been feeling restless lately. I think I want to move on, from this area. See more of the world.”
She finally admitted although it was only half the truth. A part of her wanted to find out where that sirens call was coming from. The one she always heard whenever she slept. Destiny was calling to her again and she couldn’t resist the call.
Of course she couldn’t tell him that. After all it wasn’t like she was getting bored of him. She was simply bored of sitting around. A past time he seemed to enjoy too much.
“Why didn’t you just say something?”
He asked bothered that she felt like she couldn’t tell him something so simple like that. Did you think that I wouldn’t agree to go anywhere? Of course I would! I’d do anything that made you happy.” He was hurt.
Damnit She cursed mentally when she saw the hurt expression that decorated his features. She felt terrible.
“Jachai…I’m sorry I didn’t mean it like that. But you seemed to like this place and I didn’t want to make you unhappy by moving.” She told him frowning and flattening her ears against her skull. “I’m really sorry.”
His big goofy grin spread across his maw as he practically jumped at her, nuzzling her neck. “You could never make me unhappy.”
I doubt that. She thought to herself her mind drifting towards the future where they would eventually part ways. Perhaps for forever. She couldn’t be sure. All she knew was that she wanted now to last for a while.
“I hope not.” She replied smiling softly at him as she licked his cheek. “Where do you want to go.”
“Where ever you do.” He replied much to her annoyance.
“Fine. To the jungle then.”
“Fine by me love.”
“Good because you don’t have a say.”
With that playful bickering they turned and trotted towards the jungle. Or at least where they thought the jungle was.
