A few weeks had passed since they had been ‘pulled’ together. Neither could be sure why they actually stayed with each other. They couldn’t deny the fact that there was definitely a strong attraction to each other. They had felt it when they first found one another.

Spade could only describe the feeling as…love at first sight but she still felt that it was inappropriate. She knew that there had been some reason that they had been pulled together yet…something was missing. Something she couldn’t fathom or explain.

Heaving a sigh she glanced at the russet brown male by her side. Ever since they had met they had been practically inseparable. However she knew she wasn’t the only one in his thoughts. There was someone else and she was very well aware of the small fact. Surprisingly enough it didn’t bother her. Instead she found it refreshing.

Why?

Simply because it meant that she wasn’t fully bound to the rather large male. She could define the feelings that she felt for Jachai as love. She flat out told him that she loved him, a few days after they met, and he returned her feelings but it was clear to the both of them that they weren’t soul mates.

They were both very well aware that there was someone else out there for the both of them. She had a sinking suspicion that his soul mate was the female whose name he kept mumbling when he was asleep. Bella.

It didn’t bother her, knowing that his heart didn’t fully belong to her because she knew that her heart didn’t fully belong to him. She was simply content with being with him until he re-found his soul mate and she discovered his.

Jachai shifted in his sleep slowly lifting his head and opening his eyes to meet the all too loving gaze of the female he took to be his mate until they both found their one true lovers. He smiled his goofy grin that practically made her heart melt at the sight of it.

“Hey.”

“Hey yourself.”

She smiled softly at him as she scooted closer pressing her maw into his shaggy fur. She nuzzled his neck inhaling the woodsy smell that lingered upon his pelt.

“Did you sleep well?”

She asked pulling away and tilting her head as she waited for him to reply. Spade never really slept, never had a real need to. A few hours were more than enough for her, so when she woke she mostly watched him and the rise and fall of his chest as he inhaled and exhaled.

“Mmm…yeah. What about you?”

He replied still sleepy. He let a yawn roll off of his tongue as he settled his head upon his paws.

“Yeah.”

She replied not wanting to explain how she practically didn’t sleep at all. It would just worry him and she didn’t want to.

“Y’know…I’m glad destiny brought us together.”

She mumbled also settling her head upon her paws.

“Me too Spades. Me too.”
