Starts: 12/13/08
Closes: 12/20/08 11pm CENTRAL time

(Midnight Eastern Standard time.)

The snow is falling, the music plays a sweeping waltz, and the chandelier’s glitter like icicles. These two P’an Lun, however, just cant figure out what to wear!

We have a male and a female, Hosted by Mindsend and Zephlis, that need their hair styled and their outfits primped for this winter ball.

What you need to do:

You choose one or both of the P’an Lun, and design them winter themed outfits as well as hairstyles. Can be anything from just a short bun hairdo and a few jewels, to long flowing tresses and an elegant ball gown.

You may Draw over the templates, draw your own versions, or even write the description out. This isn’t an art contest, but just a design.

Our favorite designs will be drawn onto the Sandpainters and winner gets the painter design they won done by Either Zephlis, Mindsend, or some sort of collaboration between the two.

Rules:

- Try to avoid cosplays
- You can ONLY USE THIS TEMPLATE FOR THIS CONTEST. If you are found using it anywhere else, even your quests, you risk getting grey or blacklisted.
- Do NOT add mutations such as adding wings or altering their feet, changing the type of tail (you may choose to end it in something other then hair however) or altering the horns into a different type. Try to limit yourself to clothing, jewelry, items, and hair.
- Once again I must point out that should you sketch over the pet, you cannot use this artwork outside of the contest, or else it will be considered art theft. These painters WILL belong to someone at the end of the event, after all.
-you are able to enter once for both genders, but only once for each design.

YOU CAN: Describe your design rather then write it, draw your own picture for a base, print the pictures out and do the design in fingerpaints: Its all up to you! Dont feel limited by lack of Drawing skills or art programs. You could make them out of clay if you want. biggrin

Question!

Can we get someone else to do a reference image for us, provided the design is ours?

Name of the Sandpainter: Persephone
Painters Gender: Female
Image: Requesting ShinosBee do a reference. Will edit the post with the image below when it's done!
Design Name: Yule Maiden
Description: I'll start with the hair and tail tuft. The hair should be violet in color, and of medium length. It would be similar to a mane, with a slight curl to it. Her tail tuft would be slightly longer, with the same curl to it. Further up her neck are a string of multiple deep blue cords, with the topmost and bottommost cords having a single stone of tumbled quartz in the middle. Just above her shoulder is a snow white fur stole, which is very thick and fluffy and completely wrapped around her. She has shorter white fur wrapped around her arms and tied in place with tan cords. There are thicker cord "belts" wrapped around her torso, each of them strung with a different kind of gem. The gems include deep violet fluorite, amethyst, and azurite. There is a mink sash wrapped around her waist, and tied in a simple knot. Her feet are also wrapped in deep blue cords, tied around almost like sandals. She has more deep blue cords wrapped around her tail, each of them strung with more gemstones.
Additional Notes: All of the images are based on the Wiccan element associated with winter! All of them are symbols of Earth.

Name of the Sandpainter (What would you name this dragon?): Moon Lily
Painters Gender (so we know what your talking about):Female

Design Name:Oriental Christmas
Description:Moon Lily Wears a silk evening gown of Emerald green in color, lined in gold at the sides and hem. Red prints of Holly are visible across the hem just above the gold. The chest goes down in a "V"shape in the front and across it netting of red over a thin layer of transparent lace also red. The sides of the dress, on both sides, have slits that go up to the hip in an oriental fashion. She also wears green netted, open fingered, gloves with gold at the forearm, and fingers. The section of the dress across her chest matches the lace shawl she wears draped over her shoulders it's back strung with golden bells, perfect for the one in the spirit of the season. Wrapped about her left horn a ribbon of scarlet red, matching the dress and shawl, and at both ends golden bells dangle. A gold necklace with a sparkling red ruby and a tiara of the same fashion adorn both her neck and her forehead, contrasting beautifully with her straight black hair. Her hair is done in a traditional upside down V cut, making for a shorter back that blends into longer bangs. To top the outfit off she wears gold sandals and her toe claws are painted ruby red. Her tail contains one gold band mid way through, and at the tip just before the tail hair is mistletoe, should she choose to use it is up to her.

Yep, Moon Lily is set for the season in this stunning get up.

Additional Notes: This was very fun to do, I only have a mouse to work with so please excuse my less than adequate artistic flare. I really tried to keep with Christmas colors because to me winter is all about Christmas, but I have a love for the orient as well and wanted to express that in the set up. *Crosses fingers* What can I say, tis the season.

Name of the Sandpainter (What would you name this dragon?): Armand
Painters Gender (so we know what your talking about): male
Image:EDIT:
User Image

Design Name: Yuletide Romeo
Description: Armand is the cocky type, and quite the ladies' man, which means that he always dresses in the latest party fashion... well, his latest fashion, at least. Here he sports a Shakespearean jacket with ruffled undershirt sticking out from above the v-neck and below the bottom of his spirited coat. He wears the seasonal colors: red, green, gold. His long hair is silky and fashionably tied back. His musketeer-like hat always catches the attention, especially with it's multi-colored feather. He accessorizes with a few bunches of his favorite holiday plant: holly (I'd like to add one more tiny bunch behind the feather on his hat-EDIT: I added the holly and changed the tail cuff.). He also has many loose bows and ribbons, and many random pieces of jewelry (Horn-rings, earring, tail cuff and tail rings). His coat is decorated with delicate images of holly. His pantaloons are black, with brown, gold-buttoned leather boots. On the tip of his tail is a small holly-decoration.
Additional Notes: He's inspired from my love of the medieval and Renaissance ages. I thought that the old setup went nicely with the Christmas colors... and really did make him look like some kind of lady-stealer! xD This is only my second edit ever. I had fun!

Name of the Sandpainter (What would you name this dragon?):Jaxx
Painters Gender (so we know what your talking about):Male
Image:User Image
Design Name:The Aristocrat.
Description:
Jaxx sports an Elegant Black satin penguin tailed Coat Trimmed in gold around the collar and down the front of the coat. The Opened coat shows off the off white ruffled shirt and his red pendant that dangles from a silver chain about his neck Around his lower half you see a gold waist guard (not sure what they are called really, sorry.) and from his left pocket you see a silver chain which attaches to his pocket watch. His feet and hands are covered in a sort of active wear, allowing for easy movement when need be, but retaining a classic feel (Don't know what they are called but I've seen them before on anthro drawings ^^;; ) Jaxx gives this classic look some new edge with a short styled hair slightly spiked in the back and the bangs rolled over in a wave of auburn color.

Additional Notes: I was going for simple and elegant, nothing more. ^^, another fun one to do. ^^ thank you.

Name of the Sandpainter (What would you name this dragon?):Poinsettia
Painters Gender (so we know what your talking about): Female
Image:User Image
Design Name:Poinsettia Chrismas
Description: Long red scattered hair, that looks a bit wind blown and mussy, -because shes an earthy creature- On her tail instead of fur, or feathers, are poinsettia leaves, they look a bit like flame sorta, but bright red shiny poinsettia petals/leaves wrapped around her tail sticking out everywhere! She would have poinsettia vines and leaves and twigs dangling off of her antlers, in her hair would be one giant flower, also at the hem of her dress, maybe on her gloves and shoes aswell. poin

Shoe wise, she would just have ribbons wrapped around her feet, have flowers like this at good points in her dress, tail, hair, around her ankle, and her wrist. Poin

I decided to also give her some lace in poinsettia colors, wrapped around the base of her tail and up where it begines, I was thinking maybe it could be foil colored? Look like the foil that all those poinsettia pot plants are wrapped in. poin
Id like her dress to be short, cute, and be pointy layered, sorta like a bunch of wrapping on top of one another at the bottom edge of the dress.-cant draw clothes- Short sleved and with greens, golds, and reds.

Additional Notes: -cough- okay so im not much of an eh editing artist myself, but I do frigging adore sandpaints! -shot-
ANYWAYS! Heres my girl, the lady of poinsettia's, now the first thing I think of when I hear christmas other then gifts and trees, is poinsettias, there my favorite christmas flower so bright and red and vibrant I just love them! Also did I mention I love this shop? Yeah I do, so the two things combined would be just so insanely amazing!

Painters Gender (so we know what your talking about): Female
Image: User Image
Design Name: Winter Pearl
Description: She has dark blue curly hair and wears a black barette with pearls in it. Her tail hair is the same color and style. She wears a black dress, that is solid black and the skirt part is shimmery and slightly transparent. She has a shimmery and slightly transparent scarf around her neck and a tail scarf, both with pearls woven into it. She wears a choker with a pearl on it around her neck and the end of her tail (but not on the hair part).
Additional Notes: This was fun to do. I might make a design for the male. XD

Name of the Sandpainter: Floy Hale
Painters Gender: Male
Image: User Image
Design Name: Authentic Holidays
Description: Upon his head, their is a silver mask--the kind that just goes over your eyes. It's pretty simple and birdlike. It's made of silver. Upon his whiskers he has hung several Chinese lanterns for the New Year and at the tips of his horns and ears he has hung pretty silver bells. Wrapped around his horns are two positive New Year's fortunes (Japanese). Wrapped around his body he has wrapped sealing scrolls, but with a twist, as they promise good tidings, happy new years, merry Christmas, happy Kwanzaa, and other winter season festivals. He has placed a scarf around his neck and his tail has a fluffy, soft tip. To make himself look slightly respectable, he adorned an odd coat, the top resembling a yukata, yet the sleeves looking more tuxedo style with tails at the bottom of the jacket.
Additional Notes: Well originally, he wasn't going to even wear the coat, so I did my best to make it slightly Asian yet still tuxedo-ish. It made an odd effect. Oh! And obviously the scrolls wrapped around his body don't say anything. I don't know how to write in that script style with kanji and the like. :3 I didn't realize he had no hair until I finished writing all this up. Is that a problem? I can edit some on...*completely forgot since for her, dragons don't normally have hair*

Design Name: winters night vest
Description:He his wearing a midnight blue vest over a cream ruffle shirt. the vest caller should have gems on it that sort of look like stars. and has on belted black boots. a single gold earring dangles from the tip of his ear. his hair and tail hairs are sandy blond.
Additional Notes: i know its simple and his hair is rebelious, but i love it this way ^_^ and i left in in a rougher scetch because i think it gives the artist more room to put a peace of them into it.
