Time for the annual thread:
What did you get (book-wise) for Christmas?
My birthday is in December, so I get a jump on this. I've already gotten a gift card for Borders. I'm hoping for more for Christmas, so I can really go crazy.

My friend gave me Tales of the Beedle and the Bard by J. K. Rowling, but Christmas Day hasn't arrived yet, so I don't know what my family got for me.

My mother gave me some early Christmas presents:
The Teahouse Fire by Ellis Avery Red River by Lalita Tademy
I loved Tademy's book Cane River so I've been looking forward to this one.
Also I know that a friend of mine is buying me something by J.R.R. Tolkien. Other than this I am not sure if I will be getting any more books. I'm hoping for gift cards though.

Well, my brother's birthday is today, and he got a new Spiral manga, so now I get to read the previous one. smile
I actually haven't asked for any books this Christmas. There are plenty I want, but I'm just so far behind in reading the books already on my bookshelves, that I didn't ask for more. It's a sad state of affairs when you just can't cram anymore books onto the shelves. Of course, if my grandfather hadn't just had hand surgery, I would have asked him for bookshelves for Christmas.

We had a book exchange for Christmas last week in my school's book club (The Page Turners, we are called). I gave The Mummy by Anne Rice and I got Outrageous Fortune by Tim Scott. I haven't read it yet, but it looks good.

I didn't ask for any books for Christmas, but I still got a Barns and Noble gift card and manga (that doesn't really count, though xD)! So yesterday I went to pick up a copy of "Lolita" and "Battle Royale" with my card. =D

I, too, was given Barnes and Noble gift cards. I bought most of Madeleine L'Engle's Time Quintet, The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo, and I hope to get her Tale of Despereaux back as a late gift. I gave away my first copy for some silly reason I can't imagine. But I also bought a journal and some very bright, earth-friendly stationary. Eh, paper, books, both are related, right?

Some of those are purchases from a gift card.

For Christmas this year I received: Three books by Charles Dickens (A Christmas Carol and other Christmas Stories, A Tale of Two Cities, and David Copperfield). I've been on a bit of a Victorian kick, so I was pretty pleased.
Selected Works(The Devil Rides Out, The Haunting of Toby Jugg, Gateway to Hell, and To The Devil- A Daughter) by Dennis Wheatley. All in one hardcover package. heart
And before I return to school from holiday Mom and I go out for a little book shopping. She loves to send me to school with books. 3nodding
