besides the blood capsules and stuff, has he ever eaten actual solid food before such as steak, hamburger.....ice cream?
and what about his hand. when that thing eats where does it go???

It was either in the first movie or book, but D did sit down to eat Dinner with Doris and Dan, he ate only a little but he did eat. I think he had some tea at some point too in one of the later books.
So yes just not alot.
As for the parasites consumption, i have no idea where it goes. i asume it gets absorbed into Ds body

he eats if I remeber correctly he had eggs and grape juice in the first book

I think he had some tea at some point too in one of the later books. So yes just not alot. As for the parasites consumption, i have no idea where it goes. i asume it gets absorbed into Ds body I think that was just to be polite in the first book. Otherwise I don't think he would have accepted it at all. He does have a taste for alcohol, though. I've noticed he drinks at least once in every book after.. the 4th one? Maybe, I could be wrong. And as for the parasite, I think he has an alternate universe, or plain, inside of him. Which stores all of the goodies that D likes to put in there.

oh yeah D totally only ate so Doris didnt bawl her eyes out. As for Leftie storing hte goodies D eats i can see that.
And yes he seems to at least be alright with drinking tea and alcohol. Which then raises the question do vamps get drunk?
I think not unless they drink the blood of someone who is already intoxicated. However cause Ds half human it may affect him somewhat.

In book 2 I believe he drinks a warm cup of coffee but I don't remember ever really reading about him eating. Maybe he doesn't need to do it as often as we do.
