Another student of the physical arts. Following Zyan's lecture, the hall had once more been changed to fit the nature of Valen's test. Weighted objects stood around the room, decorated sculptures of hearing horses, all facing a large statue in the center resembling a draft horse. Ironic enough... but horses had always represented strength and determination. Perhaps it would be enough to give the young student the boost he needed to his confidence.

His test, of course, would be to lift the heaviest object- the draft horse sculpture- which was in all acuality the desk masked in a clever illusion spell- over his head flawlessly.

All preperations made, Thomas glanced slowly to the clock standing above the door.

Valens was on time, something that wasn't normal for someone with his horrible sense of direction but he had a feeling being late for a final wasn't something he wanted to have happen so he'd started out earlier then was needed in his quest to find the classroom. The young man knocked before coming in, looking over at his teacher and gave a smile, "Hello." He greeted the man, shrugging off the practice weapon he carried around with him at all times that Mr Tsuzuki had given him to leave it by the door.

Ellie walked in after him, taking a seat next to the weapon, staying quiet though she seemed to be looking around the classroom in a curious manner... a look that was mirrored on Valens's face.

"Woah, cool statues." He murmured, walking toward them so that he could look them over more closely. His ears flicked back and forth, tail swishing. These were very cool, he needed some of these for his room he thought to himself before looking over at the teacher, awaiting instruction.

While Thomas was suprised by Valens' punctual arrival, he looked as reserved, perhaps even as bored, as he always did. He waved his hand lightly to shut the door behind the horse boy. An appropreate comment about him having been raised in a barn came to mind, but once again, Thomas declined to comment.

"I am glad that you like them." He leveled his eyes on those of the horse-boy, "Because you'll be lifting one of them."

Valens nodded, "Yes, they are great." He said, his long tail swishing behind him as he looked over to the statues. He gave a huge grin, alright! Another strength test, huh? He wanted to do this again, better then the last time when he'd kind of... thrown the desk instead of just lifting it. He hoped to do better this time and had been practicing at home so as not to mess up like that again.

At least he was enthusastic... it should prove useful to him later on. IF he remained as enthusiastic about his studies, that was.

"Very well. Just remember to keep your focus, don't let yourself over-exhilerate yourself, don't under-do it either. Learn to use just what's nessicary." He waved a hand, "Proceed."

The horse boy gave a momentary pause at that. Don't over do and don't under do it he thought to himself before his ears set to flicking forwards and backwards, "Alright!" He said, his tail swishing behind him as he knelt down next to the cool horse statue and moved his hands over it. Once he was ready, when he'd found a good grip on it, he took in a deep breath as he started to lift.

The statue shifted a little just from his own physical strength then as the magic started to flow through him, enhancing what was already there the giant horse started slowly to rise up.

Thomas stepped back and watched the young horse boy begin in on lifting the statue. He tracked the fategue that the physcial and spiritual task was envoking on his body. So far the youth was balancing both quite well- he'd been practicing.

He gave a very short, very faint nod of approval at the boy's progress- though he hoped it would go unseen. Any distraction might result in smashed fingers.

If there was one thing that Valens was good at it was being oblivious to his surroundings. As such he completely missed the approving nod that he got from the man... though what he might have thought was another thing. He wasn't used to getting praise of men since his father wasn't that sort to do that sort of thing being the stricter parent.

He gave a delighted sound when he was able to get the statue up over his head, looking up at it, then turned to look over at his teacher, "How long do I hold it up for?" He asked of Thomas, sounding uncertain. He wasn't having much problem at the moment, when it came to the physical he did well. It was when one threw in things that were more of the mental sort that he had his problems.

His tail swished behind him as he shifted the weight so it was more even and balanced as he waited for his teacher to give him a time frame.

Thomas watched the young man lift the statue with focused ease. The sculpture was lifted and held aloft. Valens looked content enough with his sucess.

"Just put it down now. Careful- do not use your back, rely on your knees and legs. Remember- focus the flow of energy through your body. Remember the strong points, and use them."

He waved a hand, "Continue... once you have reset the statue- you may take your leave."

Valens watched his teacher very carefully and when the man said that he could set the statue down his tail swished a bit behind him. The only show that he was excited over passing his class. He did as he was told, shifting the weight of the statue and ever so slowly it was lowered back down and placed down where he'd picked it up from. Once it was on the ground again he gave a sighing sound, one hand lifting up to drag it over his forehead. Until he'd set it down he hadn't realized how much it had taken out of him to keep it up like that for so long.

"Phew!" He murmured, then gave a bright and toothy smile, "So that was it then?" He said, sounding a bit surprised that the lifting of the statue once was all that he had to do for this test. He gave a little shrug of one shoulder, "Alright, thank you and have a good day." The horse said, giving a nod before he turned to trot over to where Ellie awaited him.

"Did you see?" He asked of her, as though she might have missed it.

The silver blinked up at him before nodding, turning to pick up the practice weapon that he had left her to safeguard and held it out to him. After he took it she turned, nodding politely to the teacher before she was leading her boy out so they could be on their way to the next class on their agenda for the day.

He readied his staff, just in case. Accidents happened. Often. It wouldn't do to have a lawsuit on his hands on top of everything else. Much to his relief, Valens managed to lower the statue without injury to himself or the floor. The man remained silent through the enthusiastic show of celebration.

He nodded and motioned to the door. “Very well done. Expect your report card in the mail within a month. Remember- practice makes perfect. This skill may very well save your life one day.”

The boy trailed out behind his dragon, leaving him in solitude once more. Sighing, he turned and waved a hand towards the statue. The illusion dropped, leaving the desk in its original form. Now to paperwork…troublesome, annoying paperwork.
