A long time ago....

A mother gave birth to her firstborn - a daughter whom she named Dasha. Dasha Lavrin. Unfortunately, there were some birth complications, and her daughter died shortly after being born. The heartbroken mother sought solace in her husband, the father, Nicholas. In the midst of her tears, the deceased child gave a small wail. Dawn, the mother, was astonished and bewildered. Her daughter had died. How could this child be alive once more? She pushed her doubts away and showered the babe with love and affection, just happy that her child was alive.

As Dasha grew older, she knew there was something different about her. She kept it from her parents and her peers, but deep inside she knew the truth: She was a vampire.
The unknown truth was that one of her ancestors had mercilessly slaughtered the Vampire Queen, with the help of another, in an attempt to wipe out these vile creatures from the face of the planet. Unfortunately for him, as the Queen was about to dye, she cast a curse upon the man and his ally. The curse caused the man and all of his current and future relatives to become just the thing they hated when they died: either naturally or by someone else's hand.
Dasha had died just after she was born. But knowledge of the curse was lost within the generations that lay between her parents and the one who brought the curse upon himself and his family. Her parents did not know of this curse, so they were not aware of the reason she had supposedly come back to life. It is, and always was, inevitable that they would find out eventually, but Dasha would not be the one to tell them. They would find out when the time came for them, too, to die...

Not such a long time ago....

A family cherished the birth of a gentle soul, something many did from time to time as the joy and mystery of life prevailed in the increasing dangers of the world. The young and confused cry of a baby soon grew to the sound, confident male that had learned much in the years that had passed. The mistakes he and others had make only made him stronger but the greatest of mistakes might do more than that.

Years upon years ago two families had joined together in a fight to hold the darkness in the chains as it threatened to cover the world. Teeth of steel and the unstoppable thirst seemed to be unstoppable at the time. That was, until a newer and stronger force was found, or created rather.

Vampire hunters had been new to the world and had been single-handedly responsible for the fall of the major clans of vampires in the early 1200's. The Queen Vampire fell after a long and tiresome battle, her poison black blood seeping from her wounds. A aspen stake, embroidered with the silver writing of god, had been thrusted through her chest, the final blow.

All seemed to end, the families parting for the time being. But they hadn't heard the deathly whisper escape from her cold parted lips.
'Cursor A veni La spre Aceia Cine Dorinţă La spre oprire Înăuntru meu Murdar Pînză'

And so a curse was placed on the two families, a curse that they would never find out about until their not so dearly depart.

'...........'

The quiet sound of glass against glass repeated again with delicate cups against small plates

'...........'

People chit chatted to each other while sitting in comfortable chairs.

'...........'

Tea was being brewed and poured behind a small counter.

'...........'

Long strands of violet-colored hair rested against a small table in the back of the small tea shop. A girl sat with her back pressed up against the chair she sat in. Her hands were folded in her lap on top of her short, purple skirt while her eyes stared intently at nothing.
Long shadows were cast across her face for she was sitting in the darkest portion of this shop. She was alone.
It would have been easy for anyone to look past her. So much so that hardly anyone in the shop was even aware of her presence. She just sat and stared.
There was a distant look on her face, as if she wasn't quite there. As if her mind was wandering. As if she didn't belong.

A small "chingaling" rang as a tall figure pushed the tea shoppe's door open. Dusty blue wool wrapped around his neck and a brown cotton hat concealed his silver hair under it's brim. There wasn't much to be said of him clothing. Brown pressed slacks stretched over his legs, ending at his polished black dress shoes. Cotton white covered his chest, a tight vest pulling in his sides and holding the buttoned shirt beneath closed except for the part that hung open around his neck. His scarf resided against his flesh, within the folded collar. It was nearly the begining of fall yet he could swear that it was colder than mid-winter.
Nodding to a elder gentleman as he passed, he walked up the the polished oak counter.
"Bună dimineaţa, any deals on the morning's tea?"
A well padded man smiled as he met the new man at the counter.
"Hallo şi Bună dimineaţa. As for a deal I'll do anything for a good Romanian man. What can a get you?"
"A half pence worth of White Honey Tea."
The man stared at him for a moment.
"Thats an odd request son. Not exactly a morning tea."
A smile stretched across the young man's face.
"Ah, I know. Pass it over anyway."
A placed a half pence on the counter and watched as the man departed. A growing tension had been raising the hairs on the back of his neck since he had arrived and he slowly shifted his blue gaze towards the shoppe's darkly corner.

The girl's eyes raised slowly at the sound of the door opening. A deep shadow lay across her eyes, but the difference between them was still quite distinguishable. One eye was an eerily light shade of blue while the other was unnaturally purple. Her cold stare fixed on the one who had just entered. It stuck to him even as he moved to the counter and away.
She slowly lowered her head slightly, keeping her gaze on the man. Some of her bangs, which had been stuck behind her ears, fell forward at her head's movement, shadowing her face even more.
Her icy hands clasped together in her lap. Even with gloves on, her skin was still cold. She began to slowly knead away at her fingers and the palms of her hands as she continued to stare. Despite her gloves, her arms were bare, revealing her oddly pale skin.
Her clothes seemed oddly inappropriate for the weather or even just in general. Her skirt was cut so short that, if she hadn't been wearing black leggings, there would be no need to be wearing anything at all. Her shirt was cut off quite high up and revealed much of her bare stomach. A small shiver shot through her body and she couldn't help but quiver slightly with the cold.

His paranoia must have deceived him for what he saw was truly nothing to fear. A young lady of sorts sat before him. True, she was odd, staring at him and the like, but she was very beautiful either way. He tried to force his gaze away from her and failed until the man at the counter came up and set a warm cup down in front of the lad with a light "clink".
"Here ya are," he said briskly (but with some kindness for he wasn't that of the rude nature) and left, taking his pay with him.
The room felt cold for him but the cup that he brought into his grasp offered a freedom from the chill. He was still newer to the town and everything that came with it, including the weather.
A few silver strands fell from out of his hat on to his young (and some would say feminine) face. Giving a small sigh and breathing in the soothing scent of the tea, he turned the rest of his body and looked out over the room.
"Where to sit,... oh where to sit...." he muttered to himself as his silver-flecked blue eyes looked over the empty seats.
Not to his surprise, most of the seats in the small corner cafe were taken up by the townsfolk expect (Of coarse) in the one corner with the odd girl.
He shift his foot slightly, causing it to slid in the corner's direction, and took a sip of his tea as he slowly decided to move away from the counter.
It was then that his mind really registered what color her hair was. In day to day life it was odd enough to see someone with sterling silver hair (not to be confused with grey), but purple was truly a unique color if not completely odd.

The girl continued to stare for a few lingering moments before her eyes suddenly shot away. She stared down at the table below her, seeming to examine the intricacy of the...wood.
She blinked a few times as she stared. The look on her face did not seem to sway save a slight hint of concentration passing through it. Her body seemed rather stiff as she sat perfectly still.
Finally, her shoulders loosened, falling slightly, letting her cloak which wrapped around them slide a bit down them. She rolled her head back up to see the man walking. Looking for a seat, perhaps? It was likely. Not many came to the dark corner of this tea shop unless there were absolutely no seats left. Or they felt somehow attracted to her.
She let herself slouch, if only slightly, in her seat, giving off a more relaxed look as her eyes danced away from the silver-haired male. She took in a deep breath, only to find the overwhelming scent of his tea fill her nostrils. He wasn't very close yet, but still, he was closer than he had been. Without getting a chance to let the air out of her lungs normally, it came out in a sudden burst. Or, rather, a few sudden bursts as she coughed a few times, turning her head to the side. She quickly brought the back of her hand up to her nose to shield it as her coughing subsided. She turned back to look up at him, an almost irritated look on her face.
This quickly passed however, and her original expression of no such emotions passed back over her face.
"You're tea..." she spoke, her voice slightly muffled by her gloved hand. "It has a very strong scent..."

The gentleman's response wasn't that of concern but rather, a statement of sorts.
"Oh really? Too sweet for a lass like you? Forgive me. Perhaps I'll simply drink out side. The early day's air seems to be, though nippish, very welcoming."
He pulled away from the corner and casually strode to the door, nodding to the counterman who had grown stiff as he neared the door with the white glazed cup.
To his pleasure he found that the lad settled against the brick wall next to the front window. It was there that he finally released his hidden hair, allowing the sun to stroke it with it's gentle rays. He messed it up slightly, adding a "poof" that had been flattened by his hat.
The steam from the warm cup and his breath mixed as he lifted the cup to his lips.
He pulled a folded newspaper from his pocket, along with a pair of slim glasses. The metal frames rested gently against his face and he unfolded the paper and began reading, his drink resting casually in his grasp.

.: He didn't just run away. Really. :.

((Forgot to say in my last post, she'd have a Russian accent.))

The girl's eyes followed him as he moved away. As soon as he was out of sight, her hand slipped away from her nose almost reluctantly. She took in a small breath to test the air. She could still smell the tea's lingering scent, but it was slowly waning. It was at least bearable.
'Why do I spend my time at a tea shop when I hate the smell of tea?' she wondered to herself, all though she knew the answer.
She slowly lifted herself off of the chair she was seated on and stood to the side of the table. She brought her hands down to her skirt and brushed a few wrinkles out of it.
Her outfit was very purple though it was laced with a bit of black and blue. Her boots, skirt, shirt and cloak were almost entirely purple, matching her hair.
She moved one of her feet behind her other slightly, adjusting her foot inside the arched shoe. She then brought her hand up to her neck, adjusting the cloth that wrapped around it.
She glanced out the nearest window and decided it was time she took her leave. She pulled the edges of her cloak closer to her bare arms and slowly made her way towards the front of the small shop. She didn't look at the man behind the front desk, though she guessed he was looking at her.
She turned the corner and headed for the door, noting that the one who had spoken to her earlier was standing by the doorway. Her eyes fell upon his hair and lingered for a moment before turning to the door. She walked past him without so much as a word and opened the door. The cold air brushed by her quickly, causing her to blink a few times before stepping outside.

The man spoke though his eyes never left the paper.
"Perhaps its a tad colder than I mentioned."
He paused to turn to the next page in his newspaper.
"You really should wear more than that simple fabric."
It was then that he pulled his gaze from the stark black words and allowed them to rise to her sculpted face. It was then that he noticed her strange hair color. Hers was purple with a sheen he had only seen in his own silver hair.
He held his gaze from trailing down her gently flowing body, though it was hard for a young and healthy man like him to do so. He had to retain some sort of his gender and if feeling such thoughtless feelings were it then he wouldn't keep himself from having them.
His hands tightened as the thought of her skin beneath them came to him. He bit the tip of his tongue quickly and pushed the thought to the back of his mind.
'Not now, not while your speaking to her! Have /some/ type of decency.'
As difficult as it was he managed to keep his train of thought on what her response would be and less on what she'd feel like.

The girl paused in the doorway, catching his words. She spun around on her heels, still holding the door open. A small breeze swept in and brushed her hair into her face. She didn't seem to notice as she stared at him with an almost questioning look on her face.
She wasn't expecting him to speak to her. She hadn't expected any more words to be exchanged other than what she had said about his tea a few moments prior.
She had wanted to ask him, however, about his hair. She hadn't noticed it when she first saw him because of his hat, but now that it was off, she almost had to keep herself from staring at it. She had been used to people staring or asking about her hair, it was rather long and hard to hide after all, but she hadn't seen anyone else with off-colored hair as far as she could remember.
"I'm used to the cold," she said after a moment, her accent slipping into her voice a bit stronger than the last time she spoke. She didn't quite close her mouth all the way as her lips remained slightly parted. They slowly closed, however and she looked away from his face.
She stared at the ground for a moment, lingering in the doorway.
"Is your hair..." she began, pausing to look up to him again. "Is it natural?"
PostPosted: Mon Dec 22, 2008 7:39 pm

Her accent was easy enough to place,Russian. He smiled as he took a moment to articulate.
"Ya,... Its is. Has been that way since I were a young boy. But not many people ask. They simply mark me off as an odd one. And yours, since we're on the topic."
His accent, once Romanian, was now one of central Russia. Being a scholar's boy he had learned much from traveling with his father and heard equally as much from the people he met.

The girl's expression changed if only slightly at the sound of his accent changing. The first thought that came into her head was that he was poking fun of her. Then she thought perhaps he was just intelligent. Her accent wasn't one that she heard copied much. Even more rare was for it to be copied well.
"Yes, it is," she agreed, slowly stepping away from the door and letting it close. The chilly wind was beginning to bite at her skin.
"I was curious...for reasons I'm sure you can guess. I just wanted to know in case you somehow dyed it or something...."
PostPosted: Mon Dec 22, 2008 7:52 pm

"Its hard to get a nice color this light with dye. But I understand your curiosity."
He paused and looked at her gently, the look that a pleasant and interested stranger can tell the are giving yet have no want to hide it. The look that ever love struck girl has replied to. Yet, in this case, it was simply a look of pleasure. A pleasure that had been spurred by her quaint reaction and response.
"Where are you heading to?" he asked simply, slowly folding his paper (A slowness that is one waiting for a promising response).

"Nowhere in particular..." she responded, a bit intrigued by his attention to her. She was definitely used to attention. She had to be looking the way she did, and she found it incredibly odd that she was taking to him the way she was.
She couldn't say that she didn't noticed his looking at her. It was a rather obvious thing to notice. She didn't quite mind it most of the time, however. She had gotten numb to it and usually just ignored it. Unless it became overly obsessive. Then the back of her hand usually met the looker's face.
