This is where sentient creatures are bought and sold for any purpose. Human or alien slaves, human or alien dinner for your pet monster, human or alien living (or dying) decoration for your home or evil liar.
No restrictions on use, they are yours for the purchase--provided you have the money. Those who fail to come up with the cash tend to become merchandise themselves...

Someone in a black cloak walked through the cages, pausing occasionally to peer longer at the wares. Steady of step and cloaked in black, this person seemed entirely safe from the many unsavory buyers he or she walked among.
This person almost walked past the green-marked cage, but paused mid-step. The green... was a tiny moth. Next to it was a monarch butterfly.
The black-cloaked person found this highly unusual and peered closer at the contents of the cage.

The contents of the moth cage was a dark haired woman, leaning casually against the bars as if bored. Around her neck she wore pendant made up of a small green marble wrapped up in silver wire. She played with it absently, her red eyes seemingly distant.
She gave a nod to the person in the black cloak. "I would be a waste of your money, it would be best if you purchased elsewhere."

The person nodded. With a raspy wisp of a voice that could come from either gender, the person asked, "Why is that?"

Ora tossed her hair to the side, the dark strands sliding away like a shadow. "I wouldn't be in your keeping for very long." She moved her hands up to her lap, the chains remaining oddly silent.

The person in the cloak nodded. "I only require temporary service. A temporary slave is not one I have to resell or keep past this need."
The person took the receipt out of the steel box on the side of Ora's cage and walked towards a counter to purchase her.

Ora sighed in response but let it slide. She leaned back against the bars of the cage and waited. At least it wasn't someone from the Kore, or so she assumed, if it was, there would be ways enough to deal with her.

The person came back with one of the market "transaction handlers," who opened the cage and replaced Ora's chains with a leash. The thick metallic cord stretched about a meter from her handcuffs to her new owner's wrist, and seemed relatively sturdy.
"Anything else?" the handler asked sullenly.
"No." The person in the cloak turned away from him and started for the door, giving Ora's leash a short tug to let her know they were going now.

Ora stood up and walked after the new owner, seemingly unconcerned. "I warned you fairly." She said in a quiet voice. She glanced around at the other cages as they walked, finally able to inspect the area with ease.

The person didn't even acknowledge that he or she heard, walking Ora outside to a small shuttle. The person raised a shaky hand to type in a key code, revealing for the first time mottled, disease-ridden skin. It looked a bit like leprosy, in fact, but the person's hand was hidden again once the doors opened.
"I would like you inside, please," the person rasped quietly. "I need a pause before I mount those steps."

Ora gave another nod, and stepped up into the small shuttle. "Dare I ask for what purpose you bought me?" She asked, glancing back at the new owner.

The person nodded, then paused before answering, leaning against the doorframe. "I am... diseased. Not contagious, but I am dying. I need help for my last task."
Slowly, the person straightened and climbed up into the shuttle. "I get too tired to take care of myself. Just need some odds and ends done, a hand for the next few days or so. Not long."

"Understood." Ora stood her ground and waited in quiet patience as the person climbed into the shuttle, understanding it would be rude to offer unsolicited help. "I may be taken away before your few days are up, but we will see."

The person seemed the chuckle as they pressed a panel, shutting the doors again. "Well. Paid for you far and square, so even Death will have to wait to take you. Is it her, or someone else you expect?"
The person still didn't lower the cloak, but they moved to the front of the craft to start the engines.

"Death, my ever trailing shadow. No, not her, at least not now." Ora followed after, keeping a few steps behind as her eyes took in the details of the craft. "Haldis is still searching for me, using the Kore as her finger tips. There are likely others who are searching as well, it's just a matter of who finds me first."
