Claude felt the viens in his neck standing out. Breathing came in short gasps becasue of his exertion. At this new hieght breathing took a back seat to focus. His legs were so tense that they curled up beneath him. His wings beat with extrodinary speed and force. The kept a constant beat that he focused with all his might on. He would keep this new altitude until he saw fit to land. And he'd land gracefully too.
Clearing his mind he forced himself to keep slow, even breaths. He opened his eyes wider and looked a head of him. More height, he needed more height. He flapped his small wings harder and faster and gained another in or so, but that put him just over three feet off the ground. He let out an exhaused breath and fell to the ground. In a red-orange hap he gasped. But he did it! By gods, he made it past three feet!

The brown and creme mare, who resembled an owl quite a bit, had been fluffing her wings trying to get them to be the soft, feathery appendages, rather than sticking to their frame from the cold of the snow.
She was rather intuned to herself, so when the colt's PLOP reached her ears, she perked her head, eyes wide, ears on guard. She saw the little red colt, and cocked her head, rushing over to him, though hoping he hadnt been hurt in the fall.
The closer she got, the more she realized he had wings. So that explained it..She had been the same way not a few months ago.
She offered the kindest smile she could muster. It would do her little good to scare the child, and she really, didnt want to scare anyone.
"Are you okay?" She asked, folding her wings close to her body, and stopping a few feet away from him.

Claude reaised his head from cleaning his wings and smiled. "Hello, good lady! Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for your concern." he stood and shook off the miosture from the snow. When he stopped he looked up at the mare and smiled again.
"What brings you out into the cold," he asked, cocking his head to the side.

She smiled at his manners and giggled a bit. "Well arent you just the cutest thing." She said.
Looking at his wings, she smiled, displaying her own. "Oh, just doing what I like doing..Making my wings look fluffy." SHe said with another smile.
"Though thatmakes me sound incredibly..vain. I just like soft wings." She said, curling them around herself ina hug. She truly lvoed the feel of wings.

"There's nothing vain about wanting to look your best. It's when you think you're the best looking soquili in the lands is when you're vain." He glances at his own un-fluffy wings and added sadly, "you deserve to make them pretty since you can use yours." He sighed slightly sadly. But he smiled after a while and bowed. "Pardon me, you deserve to hear of happier matters!" He thought for a second and then said happily, "I got an apple! But I fell really hard after I got it..."

He couldnt use his wings, poor thing, but she hadnt beenableto either.
"When I was little, I couldnt figure it out either. I ended up teaching myself though!" She said with a giggle and unfolding her wings out to her side.
"I think as they get bigger, they get easier to work with." Then she smiled, ruffling the colts mane with her wing.
"Oh silly, there wasnt a lower apple?"
