The weather was nice today, though it was snowy in the months of winter. He was happy that he had arrived during winter time, it was such a beautiful scene.. The snow rolling off the hills, the trees capped with their own snow reserves.. It was marvelously white, and the foal couldnt get enough of it.
Icicles hung from the pine trees of the forest, and he looked up, remembering what mother had said. One of those could kill if directed at a vital place, and he needed to be careful.
Mother was all too protective, but he respected her words, as he always did.
He loved his mother, he loved his whole family. He felt proud, because his mother was a wild mustang, free and to the wind.
He wanted to be like that.
He would be like that.
The ebony foal stook out like a sore thumb in the snow, looking like soot to the ebony hue.
The brown in his mane, helped him blend a bit more, but the foal needed to face it.. He wasnt going to be hiding from anyone this winter.
Rafe, the name meaning Wise Wolf, had been a bit more independent then his mother would have liked.. As of now, he had left, knowing she was still rather close, in an attempt to see the area.
His dark green eyes, eyes inhereited from his father, sparkled in the sunlight. They caught hold of a small white hare, and he took off after it, if only for a good chase.
"Imma getchu!"

Though she was still young, her father felt it good that she went out to see the world on her own, just as long as she was careful and made sure she didn't get lost. She greatly appreciated the freedom her father gave her, but that didn't mean she always wanted to be away from him either. Now, she knew he wasn't her real father, but he was there when she came out of her basket and so she's going to love him as such.
Aylen continued to walk through the forest, smile ever present on her face. It upset her slightly to see that many of the animals that were usually around weren't anywhere in sight, probably hibernating, but she was sure she would eventually come upon someone or something.
Soon enough, that little hope of hers was right as she heard something from up ahead. Ears perked, she made her way toward the 'ruckus' and soon caught glimpse of a foal chasing after a winter hare. She watched the scene in front of her, but soon couldn't help but giggle at what she was watching.
