The snow and ice had come quickly. In an almost blink of an eye Kosomot had awoken to a world blanketed in white where just the other day he could of sworn the leaves were just beginning to turn brown.
It had been a very long time since he'd really come across anyone. Though he made it more of an unconscious choice to stick clear of the most populated areas. The dark stallion didn't feel like being disturbed. Perhaps even a bit broody. He had taken up residence in another cave. Further from his father's territory. The old Kalona probably tolerated him enough already that he figured it best to leave. There was no use in him riding on his father's tail coat anymore anyway.
Either way. He knew at this time that his father had probably retreated further into the mountains. Deep into the spiraling tunnels of his home that snaked their ways through the warm rock of those towering giants. Firey eyes stared intently at the looming snow capped mountains as a brisk breeze ruffled Kosomot's long equally as red hair. The one feature about him that seemed to stick out more like a sore thumb than anything else.
The snow had fallen up to his knees by now. Which made traveling a bit more difficult now a days but that did not deter him of wandering. A hot breath caused a small puff of visible air to appear in front of his muzzle before he turned his head. Casually crossing across a large, snow covered plain. Food was scarce, but Kosomot knew where most animals hid in hibernation. So he stayed thick. Regular Soquili would probably laugh at a starved looking Kalona anyway.
The very thought left a foul taste in his mouth.
