THE ICE FIELD!

Ice field : The temperature of the stadium suddenly dropped several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifted for the upcoming battle. The floor was made of extremely slick ice, which would make manuverablity, even simply standing, difficult. Crystal-like pillars reached skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks

Renekai hastily put on a sweater, sweatpants, a jumper, gloves, boots, and a coat that she kept stored at the stadium for occasions like these. "Pity this battle isn't for Bell," she said, breath fogging out before her. "She loves this field and never gets it. Anyway, go on out, Dreydonna!"

Dreydonna floated happily out, impervious to the cold. Ooh, a new field. So shiny! She cackled and made faces into an ice pillar, only to break off into fits of insane laughter as she saw her reflection copy her.

Like Renekai, Sienna quickly pulled out a long dark green winter coat out of her bag at the sight of the chilly field. She sucked in a lung-full of air and released it with a woosh, smiling at the foggy cloud she had created. "Time for a rematch! Let's go Frey!" She said, calling out her pidgeotto.

Frey appeared on the icey field in a flash out red light. Unluckily for him, he landed onto the slippery surface, unaware of it's...well, slippery-ness. When his talons touched down, he began an ungraceful dance of tripping and slipping around on the ice until he took flight. He looked down and cursed at the shining ice now below him.

Sienna laughed at the sight of her pokemon failing to ice-skate. "Pull yourself together Frey, time to battle!"

"Let's start off with Feather Dance!" Sienna called to Frey.

On command the pidgeotto began beating his wings furiously, sending a storm of feathers flying from his wings. The feathers danced about in the cold air, and shot over the slick ice, toward the gastly across from Frey.

"In that case, a Captivate is in order!"

Dreydonna floated coyly out, flickering around the falling feathers. She winked at Frey in an attempt to be alluring.

Frey made a puzzled face when he felt himself become captivated by the gastly. He rather disliked the Dreydonna, especially since their last battle where she paralyzed him for almost the whole battle. But the pidgeotto decided it was best if he shrugged that one off.

"Let's go with a Thief attack then!"

Frey silently obeyed, shooting across the frosty ice field. His reflection followed him across the shining surface of the ice as he lunged at Dreydonna with his talons out ready to deliver the Thief attack.

"Thunderbolt!" Renekai shouted.

Dreydonna did her best to dodge the Thief attack, but wasn't able to block it all. Before Frey could get too far away, she quickly summoned up a lightning bolt from the depths of her gaseous mists. It flew out to paralyze the pidgeotto, similarly to that past battle.

A small smile crept onto her lips, an attack like that was what they had been waiting for. Why they never thought of using this move before was lost to Sienna.

"Send that lightning back with Mirrormove!"

Frey's beak curved into a smile like that of his trainer's. Thoughts about how sweet this would be if this worked danced in his mind as he flew above the gastly. Like a mirror, he reflected the Thunderbolt move and sent a bolt of lightning thundering towards Dreydonna.

Dreydonna's wicked grin suddenly disappeared. Oops.

Renekai clutched the railings. Well, she hadn't been in this situation for a long time... What could she do? Probably nothing. Wait! "Dreydonna, use Haze!"

Dreydonna's mists suddenly turned black and she disappeared. Aha, she was free!

'Good feelings gone.' Sienna thought and did a face palm. And it was such a good Mirrormove too...
"I guess we're going with another Thief attack." Sienna said to Frey.

Frey, who was now ticked by the lack of revenge, set off once again to attack Dreydonna. Talons ready to steal her energy, he dove towards the gastly.

Renekai grinned. That was such a good move! But Dreydonna was still in trouble. If Frey wasn't kept still for long enough, the battle would be over for them. "Try again!"

Dreydonna whooshed out of the Haze, sparking with electricity. She attempted to hit Frey head-on to ensure the paralysis, but was rewarded with a painful blow.

Frey landed with an 'oof' on the glassy ice field, practically tackled with the gastly's second Thunderbolt attack. Paralyzing electricity cackled across his feathers. The jumping static of the electricity sounded mocking to him. 'Not again...' He thought.

Sienna did another face palm, instantly regretting not using another Feather Dance instead of a Thief attack. She knew they were probably done for but shouted "Hang in there Frey!" anyway.

"A'right!" Renekai said, pumping a fist. "We got that bird! Thunderbolt!"

Dreydonna cackled, then sent a bolt of lightning down onto the immobilized bird. She wondered if he was getting cold sitting on the ice. Well, this oughta warm him up!

The Thunderbolt struck the ice, right beside Frey's head melting the ice on the spot. He mentally breathed a sigh of relief, he was lucky that didn't hit. He also noted his luck that his feathers kept him partially warm.

Sienna almost pumped a fist into the air at their luck, but then remembered they weren't out of the woods yet...
