Adhara stared up at the large building with wide, amber eyes. Reena and Niita were clinging tightly to her small frame, trying to keep warm and stay out of the puffs of snow that were falling from the sky. The temporary family of three -Yanamari and Persephone had been left with a babysitter- had just emerged from Matthias' car, and the two adults were shuffling quickly through the snow, while Adhara stared up at the ski lodge, her eyes wide as saucers.

Her wings ruffled up, using themselves as insulation despite the thick coat that she had on, which was -for once- zipped up all the way to her chin. As usual, the child was wearing one of her Guinevere-made dresses, but this one was much more in the Christmas spirit, at least beneath the dark magenta coat. It was a red velveteen, and had belled sleeves, both the cuffs and the neck lined with white fluff that itched just a little bit. The neck was wide, however, to give the girl breathing room. The skirt was wide and short-ish, and had a green fabric underneath it, so when the underside showed, it wasn't just the back of the material. The skirt was edged in the white stuff as well, and beneath it was a pair of bell-bottomed, white-trimmed pants, which Adhara almost never wore, and the seams itched, given it was so new to her.

"Adhara, hurry up! You'll catch your death out here, and that would disappoint your friends!" Guinevere called with a smile from beneath an awning that covered the front entrance. Snapping out of her daze, Adhi gave a returned smile and ran to the front entrance, careful to keep from slipping, though her black dress shoes were far from snow-proofed. The automatic doors slid open to allow the three into a warm lobby, bustling with people coming in for the holiday season. Bright as she always was, Adhara rocked back and forth from her heels to her toes as her temporary guardians picked up the keys for the two connected rooms that would be shared by parents and guardians.

Adhara squealed happily at the prospect of this sleepover. You see, the three had agreed that it would be alright for Adhara to have a sleepover with her many friends after Noah called and offered to pay for the whole thing. So, they would have their fun, have a sleepover, and the next day, all the children had their choice of different activities, all of which were covered by the Lust / Diligence child's guardian. For the rest of the time, they were free to do about whatever they wanted. The girl's godmother had made sure to brings tons of blankets, as well as the dress-up kit that Noah had bought previously, and quite a few other things that Adhara spent free time doing, like knitting and other such things. Of course, these things were mostly to satiate the little girl's overwhelming energy until people arrived.

Already, the little girl was seating cross-legged in the middle of the floor with a deep magenta scarf she'd been knitting for someone named 'Almas', her coat unceremoniously to the ground near the door. The door, itself, remained open, amber eyes glancing up every other second, excited for someone to show up, as that would make her boredom vanish in less than an instant. She glanced over to the wrapped gift left in the corner, wrapped in Christmassy paper, which held a train set within it. Though she'd sort-of wanted it for herself, she could hope that someone would like it, at least.

Ebony Morgan Dartsmoore, wrapped up in her warmest winter clothes, stepped out of the hired car carefully. As Dartsmoore couldn't drive, they didn't have their own car, so the woman had ordered up something akin to a taxi to drive the two of them to the lodge. Dartie wasn't staying, of course - she really didn't like winter weather and had other plans - but the small one was to be staying, and Dartie wanted to see her off as well as get a look at the place (in case she had to return to fetch the child).

Ebby was excited, all sorts of fun things packed into her bag. Besides her clothes for the two days, she had packed bundles of song lyrics she'd bought to practice her carols, and a few other odds and ends (including a cow and a squid plushie that she'd gotten while hanging out with her friend Wynni). The girl was eager to see who Adhi would have at her party - parties sounded FUN!

Soon enough, Dartie had let go of the small purple spawn and the child was entering the cabin, her mother leaving. Ebony smiled broadly as she entered, dragging in the case she'd brought with her. "Hihi Adhi!"

A black SUV parked in the parking lot, the paint splattered by white flecks of snow. The door open, and 'Zuba hopped out, wearing her grey hoody, black leggings, a pair of grey, fluff-trimmed boots, and nothing else. She reached back into the vehicle, grabbing a duffle bag of he necessities and a gift box wrapped in silver paper. Without waiting for her gaurdian, the girl headed up to the lodge, ignoring the cold to the best of her ability.

A rather exhausted looking teen stepped out of the vehicle, the falling white paticles sticking to hair like glitter. She had a fluff-trimmed winter jacked and heavy pants slung over her arm, her other arm shutting the vehicle door behind her. She'd fought with the girl all morning, just barely managing to talk her into leggings and boots. As much as she wanted to stay here and moniter her little 'Zuba, to make sure she didn't get chilled or anything, she couldn't. And she hated that.

'Zuba walked in, smiling slightly as she paused near the doorway. "'Lo." she greeted, waving to Adhara and the new person. She walked over, setting the gift she'd brought by the other one, hoping that whoever got hers liked Legos.

Stasia stepped into the building, smiling and waving to the kids before looking around for the adult supervision.

Mareike slid out of Nickle's car and shooed her father away wit ha dismissive flick of her hands. Mariekw as glad to get away from him for a while, tension was mounting in her house what with all the preparations for the arrival of her sibling to be. While Nickle and Penny used the time without her to decorate the kids room Mareike planned to relax for a while.

Plus the girl felt a bit guilty about her last meeting with Adhara the girl had probably feared death around every corner depending on what she'd been eating afterwards. It was like Mareike had known better though, she'd just been repeating what she thought she had remembered.

Cloaked in warm winter clothes she walked up the steps to the lodge a dufflebag filled with clothes, necessities and the requested present packed inside it. She hadn't been sure how old anyone in the group who might get it would be so the girl had gone with an angel and demon themes chess set. The pieces were pretty enough to look at and even if a younger kid ended up with it they could learn to play early or just set it up and admire the figurines.

Walking inside the maroon skinned girl spotted Adhara and Ebony as well as a third person she didn't know.

O U R A D V E N T U R E

Slythor kissed his father goodbye. He was a big boy now, and besides, his father still had to do his job. He smiled and bundled himself up with a trenchcoat. He was not about to allow himself to get a sickness like his father did only days before. Even his bird wore a small woolen vest and a cap to keep warm as he ran out to the building, hearing his father's car leave.

He made sure to wipe his hooves before entering, both he and his bird had brought presents. His was wrapped fairly well. Inside he had wrapped a mini-dinobot, the kind that reacts to movements and stuff. Blue's present had a ring attached to it so the bird could carry it. It carried a wrapped box fairly easily, inside being a giant birdie plushie, one that looked just like Blue. Both he and Slythor worked days to get it done.

The boy and his bird placed their presents at the pile and then they waves at everyone. There was Adhara, and Ebony... and a third one he didn't recognize. He also noticed he was the only boy. He sat beside the others, waving to everyone. He turned to the girl he didn't know. "I'm Slythor, who're you?" He asked.

As soon as Ebony walked in the door, Adhara smiled brightly. She wrapped what was almost a finished scarf around her knitting needles and shoved it into a small backpack that was stuffed full of random things and jumped up. Though Reena and Niita had previously been tucked up to her body for warmth, they both quickly stretched happily toward Ebony, given she was one of few they knew who loved hugs. Adhi giggled at her tentacles' behavior, but allowed them to hug the little girl, and the girl herself pat the girl's head a bit.

"Hi, Ebby! I'm glad you could make it, but you're the only one here as of n-" she was cut off by the entrance of a familiar face whom she'd been wanting to see quite a while by now. She brightened even further -if that was possible- as Niita immediately groped over toward 'Zuba, who was setting down a present next to her own. She patted Ebony's head, before walking over to wave to 'Zuba as Niita stretched happily toward her, trying to pet her hair, though it was difficult given she was a little too far away.

"Hello, 'Zuba!! It's good to see you again, and you got bigger, too!" she squeaked happily, stretching her wings in a prideful manner. She glanced toward the door again, and caught sight of a person she didn't know. 'Course, it wasn't Nataya or Bailey, and therefore Adhara couldn't so much as guess as to what they were doing there. No less, she stepped up to Stasia with a smile, reaching her hand out, while Reena and Niita stretched toward her happily. "Hi there, I'm Adhara. Who're you?" she questioned curiously, tipping her head just a bit. "Ginny and Matthias are in there, if you need t'know," she added, pointing over toward the second room with her free hand. And that was when yet another spawn entered. Somehow, Adhara hadn't anticipated so many people actually showing up.

"Hihi, Mareike," Adhara said sweetly, laughing a bit and letting her hand fall back to her side as she turned to the Wrath girl, looking up at her this time and blinking a few times. "You got bigger, too..." she commented, before smiling a bit. "Nice t'see you again," she said finally, before gesturing the three together for the moment. "'Kay, so, this is 'Zuba, and this is Mareike, and this is Ebony," she stated, pointing to each girl in turn, smiling happily. "'Cause I dun'no if you've ever met each other before," she said with a nod. And yet another person entered the room; surprise, surprise.

She laughed a bit and waved. "'Lo, Slythor~" she said happily, smiling at the first boy who'd arrived. For his sake at the very least, she hoped that at least one of the other boys would show up soon, though more would make things more interesting, after all.

Ebby grinned broadly, bouncing on her toes as more people came in. The only person she didn't know so far as was Zuba.

"Hihi Mareike, hihi Slythor." she greeted her usual friends first before turning to Azubahiel. "Hihi Zuba. You've got neat skin and pretty headwings."
PostPosted: Sun Dec 14, 2008 5:56 pm

'Zuba smiled, waving to Adhara. "'Lo, Adhara. Glad to see you again....we grew." she said, chuckling. "Like your glasses." She was happy to see that her friend had grown as well; it might have been a bit awkward if one of them was still little. She smiled, waving to Slythor before looking to the two new girls. "'Lo." she said softly, waving before hiding her face behind the sleeves of her hoodie. She smiled at Ebby's comment, shaking her head. "No....but thanks. Pretty wings." Everyone here had wings except her, so she felt a bit left out. Not that she said anything about it.

Stasia smiled at the little girl. "Ah, so you're Adhara? 'Zuba's told me about you." she said, chuckling. "I'm Stasia...I'm 'Zuba's mother." she said, introducing herself. She then nodded, almost pausing at the name 'Matthias'. Naw, her Matth was out in the car, not in the next room. "Thank you, Adhara." she said, walking to the next room so she could drop off the extra clothes 'Zuba had refused to pack.

Mareike gave brief nods to the two unknowns and busied herself with trying to get present box she'd wedged into her duffel bag out. Perhaps actually packing instead of cramming clothes inside might have been a good idea. Retrieving the gift she moved to put it beside the others taking note that the boy named Slythor appeared to be her age. It would be nice to to have to be the only older child there especially when she didn't feel that much older all the time to be honest.

Still, she grinned down at Adhara " You'll grow up soon too I'm sure and no more turkeys will pick on you" Mareike winked as she spoke the lighthearted words. No real insult was meant by them just gentle teasing about their first meeting.

Duncan had really planned on going, after all a new place with a lot of people some that he might not know, far from home... it all seemed as though it would be a bad idea for him when he was only slowly but surely moving around in the world. He gave a little grumbling sound as he approached the building that he was going to be staying in... he had liked Adhara well enough, she had been fun to talk to, they'd even been kicked out of a class together. Since she was so nice and had invited him along was why he decided to attempt being more social then he knew that he was.

He stomped the snow and mud from his special made boots before stepping inside, shrugging off his coat as it was uncomfortable, itchy, and was pushing his wings down. With it gone he found himself looking around the room at the group gathered... almost half and half those he knew and those he didn't know.

His clawed hands tightened for a moment on his bag's straps, before he walked forward to where everyone else was gather. He felt a bit out of place, older then other others, taller, but... his awkwardness started to fade slightly as he found himself starring at another of Shar's blood... he'd not expected this, then again Adhara had mentioned knowing a lot them.

"Hello." He finally greeted the group, wings twitching behind him, giving off a chiming sound.

"Thankies, 'Zuba~" Adhara replied to the comment about her glasses, pushing them back up her nose and smiling softly. "It's nice to meet you, Stasia," Adhara said kindly, a smile on her face as Reena and Niita reached toward various different people all at the same time, having never been in the company of SO MANY spawn not just in the same area, but in the same PLACE. She watched Stasia go into the next room, and turned in place in time for 'Zuba's comment about Ebony's wings. Thinking on it a moment, and looking around at all the other people, she realized that 'Zuba was the only one who didn't have any wings besides the single one in replace of one of her ears.

Making a decision right then and there, she skipped into the next room, digging through the treasure-type box of dress-up clothing, before pulling out a pair of fairy wings, smiling brightly. They didn't look very realistic, and they were kept on by stringy-things, but at least they were wings, right? She went back to the room full of people and offered the wings to her friend. "Wings for 'Zuba! I dun'no if you can fly with them, but I don't think that anyone here can fly yet anyways," she said, giggling softly and bouncing on the balls of her feet, all excited thanks to the flurry of people in the room now.

As she turned back to Mareike, Niita was happy for the opportunity to reach out and pet 'Zuba's headwing softly, no longer deterred by Adhi yanking her away from the girl. They seemed to enjoy the feel of feathers, though they seemed to enjoy everything in general. Adhara giggled a bit, smiling sheepishly at Mareike's comment about the turkeys. "I hope so," she said, smiling at the joke, even if it was one geared toward her. "Unless the crazy people at the facility start making giant turkeys," she added, giggling at the thought of turkeys the size of people, despite the fact that such a thing would probably scare her half to death.

When the door opened once again, letting in a soft breath of cool air, Adhara smiled brightly at who it was who entered, bouncing happily before half-running up to the Wrath boy, Reena and Niita instinctively reaching up toward him, glad to see a person who liked them once again. Surprising to her, still, was the fact that almost everyone seemed to like the two tentacles, which was the opposite of what Noah and Guinevere had said would happen. "Hello Duncan!" she exclaimed happily, not even hesitating to hug the Wrath boy around the waist, given for a Wrath spawn, he'd never really gotten mad at her. At least, not in the last time they met.

"Oh! Right, come on," she said, taking his wrist and tugging him over to Mareike, who didn't look much younger than he was. In fact, having the two right next two each other, they looked strikingly similar; it was obvious that they shared similar blood. "Duncan, this is Mareike; I told you about her, right? And, Mareike, this is Duncan. I didn't meet him until after I met you, so I don't think I could have told you about him," she said, chuckling softly at the comment. She then pointed to each one of the kids in turn, for both Duncan and Slythor's sake, both of whom had come after the introductions. "MmKay, so you know that's Mareike, you're Duncan, he's Slythor, and that's Ebony, and 'Zuba." She nodded a couple times, surprised that there weren't more people now that she was over the initial shock. She was actually quite happy with the turnout.

When the other parent entered the second room, Guinevere looked up curiously, before smiling softly at the other. Her wings stretched softly behind her and she stood, extending a hand toward the woman. "It's a pleasure to meet you; I am Guinevere De'chiel, godmother of Adhara," she said kindly, just so that the other would at least know that her child -whichever of the many that had shown up- was in good hands for the night. Briefly, Ginny wondered if she was going to stay the night as well, but she probably wasn't; perhaps the adults would be more alone than they had originally thought.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 20, 2008 12:19 am

Mareike would have shuddered at the thought of giant turkeys if her attention hadn't been fully focused on the other wrath child in the room. Duncan was bigger and older than her and it put her on edge just a little. Though from the way Adhara manhandled him he seemed harmless.

When the introduction was done for a second time she smiled a bit at the boy. " Any thoughts on the a** running the place we come from?" To be older than her he must have had to have gone and seen his parent's like she did and really anyone who was interesting went and saw Shar first which meant meeting Vampy who was just the worst kind of jerk you could know.

A tiny part of the girl had thought about censoring her language then figured chances were everyone in the room had heard the word before at least once. She couldn't corrupt anyone's vocabulary here like she had done to Mara.

Duncan found himself starring at Mareike, unblinking. Two of his three eyes remained normal, fixed while his yellow eye narrowed as though it were looking at the other wrath child and was sizing her up, trying to determine exactly how dangerous she was... and then her question sank in.

He was by no means relaxed, a little on edge, nervous, but his demenor changed at the mention of 'the a** running the place' his hackles rose, his temper flared, and his gritted his teeth a bit, "I doubt you want to hear my thoughts on him. It may scare you and the other little kids here." He said, forcing himself to take deep, steadying breaths to get his anger under control... Vampy wasn't here, he was far from here, he didn't have to worry about him or his manipulations.

He cleared his throat, "We are here for fun, not to talk about... creatures like him." He said, idly scratching at one of his wrists in an unconscious gesture.

"Welcome." 'Zuba said, smiling lightly at Adhara. She blinked as she was handed wings, smiling a brighter than she normally did. "Thank you." She said, hugging Adhara once before slipping her wings on. Yes, hugging wasn't something she normally did, but she had wings like everyone else now! She was happy. She let out a small giggle as her headwing was touched, reaching out to pet Niita.

She blinked, listening to the exchange between two of the older kids, Marieke and Duncan. She then shook her head, sighing. They were not little kids! But, she let it slide and didn't say anything; after all, this was supposed to be fun! She couldn't let little comments bother her. Remembering her manners, albeit a bit late, she waved to Duncan, muttering a small "'lo" in his general direction.

Stasia smiled, nodding to Guinevere as she shook her hand. "It's nice to meet you, too. I'm Anastasia, Azubahiel's mother." she said, introducing herself. The woman seemed nice, so she was sure she wouldn't have to worry much about 'Zuba's well-being. She still had the coat and pants in her arms, so she figured she might as well get it over with. "These are for 'Zuba tomorrow...." she said, motioning to the clothing. "She refused to pack them herself, so I brought them."

As everyone seemed rather distracted, Ebony decided now would be a good time to put the two presents she'd brought with the ones from the rest of the group. She was a bit confused by how they'd be handed out and didn't exactly know who'd be getting what, so she had just chosen two presents.

The two presents she pulled from her bags were somewhat different looking. The one was in pretty red wrapping with golden swirls on it and was mostly just a large rectangular package. The second was in dark blue and silver wrapping, and was longer and thinner and more awkwardly wrapped. They hadn't found a good box for it, so Ebony had put some extra tissue paper around it and wrapped the whole thing. The first package contained a bean-filled so kitty plushie and were it not easily squooshed, it'd be about half her size. The second contained a well wrapped up cutlass and a note that it was to be handled with caution on top of the wrapping. She'd really had no clue what to get that wasn't girly so she'd gone with that. It was a nice thing anyway and it was shiny.

Turning back towards the others, Ebby grinned broadly. "Yay, now Zuba has wings. Cool!" And then, upon spotting the red teen, rushed over to give him a hug. "Hihi Duncan!'
