He stretched and yawned as he pulled himself up out of the grass where he'd been napping. He'd wandered away from his usual haunts to do a bit of exploring. There was something so ... free about having no borders that he was stuck between.
Shaking his mane out he scanned the horizon to try to decide which direction he was going to go in. One would look more interesting than others eventually and that would make his decision for him.

It had been a long journey so far, with no sign of her anywhere. It hurt to think that she had just left, but he didn't think that was like Embamba at all. No, she was a beautiful, smart lioness that wouldn't have abandoned her family for anything. He just needed to know why she had left, where she had gone, if she was alright?
His bright green eyes swept up, only to land on the figure of another rogue. He hesitated, momentarily, before stalking in that direction. "Excuse me, uh, could I ask you something?" He paused before he got too close, in case the rogue turned out to be something not-so-friendly.

His ears twitched toward the voice before his head swung around to look at the sooty colored male. "Mmhm.." he nodded slightly as he turned his body so his neck wouldn't be crocked at an odd angle.
He hadn't seen a lion like this in a very long time. He thought usually they were further up north than he was. Unless somehow he'd wandered farther north than he'd intended which could always be the case.

Well, that was good, he didn't seem to be dangerous. That always posed well for when he had to go about asking questions. He had a good sense of when to and when to not pester someone. It was a good survival skill to have.
"Thank you," he said with a nod as he took a few steps forward, "I was wondering if you had perhaps seen purple-ish lioness pass through here?" He had no idea if he was even on the right trail, as no one he had spoke to yet had seen hide nor hair of her.

"Purplish?" He looked up slightly as he thought about that. He had run across many others even if he hadn't spoken to them but he couldn't remember any purple ones off the top of his head.
"I don't think so." he shook his head eventually as he turned his eyes back on the other male. "It has been a long time since i've see anyone else though"

A soft sigh escaped his maw, eyes closing against the world as he heard the answer. Oh, he knew it was too much to hope, but he seriously prayed that he would come across someone that had seen her. He simply nodded then, his tail lashing for a moment as he tried to real his emotions back into check. This always happened, every time he asked and had his hopes let down.
"Thank you anyway, for the help," he muttered, opening his eyes and offering the male a sad, but appreciative smile. "I suppose I'll just have to keep looking for her. Just because no one has seen her doesn't mean she hasn't passed through here, right?" Oh, he was using this stranger as a crutch, but he needed a little pep talk at the moment - or at least someone to listen to his babble.

"I haven't been here that long." He hadn't really seen anyone around here at all since he'd come though except for this soot colored lion. Whoever this lion was looking for could be around just out of sight for all he knew.
"She could just be out of sight for all i know. I wasn't really keeping an eye out. Someone's bound to have seen her somewhere." Though technally someone could have and it could have been months before this male asked.

"I suppose you're right," he said with a weak smile, though he was obviously less confident than he had been before. It was a vicious cycle - the hope, the let down, the building up to hope again. He knew he'd find his hope again soon, but for now, it seemed shot.
"I'll just have to keep my hopes up that someone else saw her, though she could have been through her and no one saw her at all." He shrugged a little, turning his eyes out to the horizon. He was convinced she was out there somewhere.

"Someone's bound to have seen her somewhere. Unless she's very good at keeping out of sight." WIth the odds of how many others there were out there it was bound to happen. The sooty lion would just have to be in the right place at the right time to get the information he wanted. "If you're going to loose hope there's no point in searching. So long as you want it hard enough it will come eventually"

"I won't lose hope, not forever anyway, but each disappointment is a little let down," he shrugged, but nodded at his words. He would just have to take it one day at a time.
"Thank you, though, I really appreciate what little help you could give," he murmured. There was no reason to stick around here if he had nothing to offer. He simply gave him another nod before turning, heading back out. He would find her - she was out there somewhere.

"Mm... shouldn't let yourself get so disappointed." Eventually the addition of each bit of it would drag the other lion down. It was so much better, at least for him, to not worry about such things and just live as if nothing could go wrong and everything would happen because he wanted it.
"Good luck to you on your search."
