THE GRASS FIELD!
The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustled the flat grassland arena, sending small clouds of harmless pollen into the air. The land is completely flat, making manuverability easy to those build to walk on land. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GRASS type attacks

Anima happily rolled around in the grass, forgetting once again to stay on her spot. She snapped at clouds of pollen that flew above her, chased her own tail, and trampled down the soft grass. All the while, she was squeaking nonstop nonsense.
"Hey, Ani!" Renekai called through her laughter. "Settle down, girl! You've got to save some energy for the battle."
Anima obediently sat on her spot, but the chatter did not cease.

Frey glided around the grassy field happily, the tall grass brushing against his belly feathers. He did a twist in the air, sending puffs of pollen twirling into the air around him before setting in a spot on the field, ready for the battle to start.
"Looks like you're in a good mood for once, huh Frey?" Sienna said to her pokemon from her spot in her trainer box.

"Aaaalll right!" Renekai said. "Defense Curl!"
Anima grinned at her feathered friend, then curled up into a tight ball. Soon, she was no more than a large cushion of lined fluff.
Renekai smiled. She had been using stat changes right from the beginning for a while now.

"Let's go with a Feather Dance, Frey!" Sienna said. Usually, she wouldn't use a move that affected the opponent's stat, but since her last battle with Rene Sienna thought she should start learning how to use stat affecting attacks.
The pidgeotto returned Anima's grin with a small smile and then started his Feather Dance by leaping off of the field. Frey beat his wings with all his strength and sent a blast of soft feathers at Anima.

"If that's how you want to be..." Renekai muttered. "Charge Beam!"
Anima watched the feather dance with wide eyes. "Exquisiteoptimumsplendiferoussplendoroussublime!" she cheered. Upon her trainer's order, however, she sat up on her hind legs and ceased speaking. From her open mouth came a soft yellow light, which grew larger and larger until it shot out in a beam coming towards Frey.

"I'll take that as a complement?" Frey guessed at Anima's long string of words. Then Anima fired her charge beam. The pidgeotto, still in the air, dodged the Charge Beam and flew around in a half circle until he was behind Anima."Follow up with Aerial Ace!" Sienna called to Frey. With the speed he had gathered by flying away from the Charge Beam, Frey flew in close to the Furrent and slashed at her with his talons. ((Do I have to roll for Aerial Ace? The Bulbapedia artical says it strikes without fail, but I couldn't see anything about moves like Aerial Ace in the Battle Format thread D|'' . Rolling just in case.)) [900/900]

((You still have to roll for all attacks besides stat changes. :> ))
Anima cowered as Frey attacked. She winced horribly at the wound, but it was just a bruise. She still wasn't used to the ferocity of battle, and didn't quite understand that she wasn't badly hurt.
"It's okay, Ani!" Renekai called encouragingly. "Try again! Charge Beam!"
Anima sat back on her haunches, opened her mouth, and aimed carefully. Soon, she was calling upon the crackling electricity and spat it out at the pidgeotto.

Anima's careful aim payed off, and Frey was struck with the beam of light. Sparks of electricity, making the attack super-effective danced on his feathers.
Sienna suddenly remembered the Leppa Berry Frey had found before their battle.
"Frey, you've still got that Leppa Berry with you right?" Sienna called to the pidgeotto. Still tied around one of his legs, the Leppa Berry was indeed there. "Pidge!" Came the reply and Sienna said "Great, then use Natural Gift!"
The berry on his leg glowed as the pidgeotto snapped up the berry with his beak. Feeling the Fight-type power provided by the berry, he dove towards his furret friend aiming to collide with her.

((Sorry, Star, but Natural Gift is a banned move now. xD;; No one can use it any more... But it would have been a good hit! I'll let you keep the 6, so just change the attack. :3 FireFoxNinetails Any species can use nat. gift which is really unfair for some of the 4x weakness pogies. So uh. Not allowed. ))

"Watch out!" Renekai called, but too late.
Anima was knocked over by the power of the next attack. Without her Defense Curl, that would really have hurt! She let out a stream of gibberish, not able to understand why Frey was being so mean.
"Get it together, Anima," Renekai said sternly, but not unkindly. "C'mon, Charge Beam!"
Anima was getting bored of using the same attack, but she complied.

"Hang in there Frey!" Sienna called out as her pokemon was hit with another, more power Charge Beam.
More electricity cackled and leap around Frey after he was struck. 'Ouch. That one hurt.' He thought.
"Let's try a Twister this time!"
Following his trainer's command Frey beat his wings, stirring up a strong wind that picked up grass and debris along with it as it whirled towards Anima

"Watch out!"
Anima darted swiftly around the twister, feeling instead only a harmless breeze clouded with pollen. Anima grinned at the scent, then sneezed. Ticklish.
"Charge Beam!" Renekai repeated. This was getting good!
Anima happily created another charge beam, but this time, she did not release it. Instead, she swallowed the whole thing once it reached its peak. The electricity made Anima feel jumpy and alive; she quietly burped a small wisp of smoke.
