The black, white, and blue lion ran across the Savannah, mostly moving out of his normal range to find what he could find of prey. The male knew the pride's hunting had slimmed, and may slim more; thus he'd taken it upon himself to bring something home, something to feed the younger ones. Blue eyes studied the area and he braked, pausing to look around and catch his breath. There had to be water close by.... Right?
--
A heavy sigh slipped from the pretty adolecents lips as she wandered aimless across the grasses, farther and farther away from her homelands. She loved her family and the lands she had grown up in but she wanted to be free, to live life the way she chose to. She wanted to break free of the bonds of family, most of the pride was related to her in some way and she didn't want to find herself finding her prince in one of her relatives. That would simply be gross and she would have none of it. Thus, as a result, she left deciding that it was time to stop waiting around for her dream lion to come by and whisk her off her feet.
No she was going to take matters into her own hands. Slowly a smile broke out across her maw as her teal colored eyes surveyed her surroundings until landing upon a small pool of water. Deciding it was time to take a well-deserved rest she made her way toward the cool, clear liquid
--
Melhor was trotting now, moving again at a slower pace, spotting a small pond, one bound to be full of water, and, hopefully, there'd be prey close by. The male moved, feet carrying him to the water as the large lion made his way, ever alert for the scent of a threat. However, there were none, and nearing the pond, he settled, bending his head to drink from the water, long and deep. He'd stay there a day or two, maybe some food would happen by? And then go on if need be. The male flopped to a resting position, and resumed drinking his fill calmly.
--
As Jipima reached the water's edge she dipped her head down and took a long drink. It felt so wonderful to have that cold liquid slither down her throat and into her belly. She hadn't realized just how thirsty she was until she took a drink. After another long drink she pulled her maw from the water content for the time being. As she lifted her head she saw him.
Her teal colored eyes traveled over his large, but lean form. The dark color of his pelt framed by such a pretty blue and white. Her breath caught in her throat as she stared.
This was it. This was what she had been searching for.
--
Melhor didn't register company right away, but once he did, he wasn't hostile at all.
Surprised, but not aggressive, and the male rose, bowing his head politely, greeting the female.
"I'm sorry;" Melhor said, calmly. "Am I intruding?"
He smiled, hopefully she was friendly. The last think that he needed was an enemy.
--
When she realized that she had been caught staring she immediately dropped her gaze to the grasses below her a small blush creeping across her features as she bit down on her bottom lip. Swallowing she looked up rather sheepishly glancing at him through the tuff of hair that fell over one of her eyes.
"Ah...no...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude."
She replied dropping her gaze once more as she struggled to regain the confidence she usually carried when she met a male that she was going t judge. Of course she had already judged him with one look. It helped that he was being rather polite. First impressions were important after all.
"My name is Jipima. It's a pleasure to meet you sir."
She told him a smile spreading across her features as she lifted her head to catch his eye.
--
Sir?
Melhor looked sheepish, first.
"Ahhh... I'm sorry myself. I don't mean to intrude in my hunts. Are these your lands?" He tilted his head. He hoped he wasn't intruding, and he finally responding with his name, smiling kindly.
"My name is Melhor Pax. It's a pleasure to meet you."
The male bowed, politely. He was the intruder... Best be polite!
--
"You aren't intruding!" She quickly stated before blushing again at her sudden outburst. She felt so silly! She had barely met the boy and yet he already had her blushing. "Ah...These aren't my lands. To be honest I don't really quite know where I am." She admitted with a light shrug as her gaze drifted to her reflection in the water.
"Melhor Pax." She repeated testing the name and deciding she like the way it rolled off of her tongue. "Do you live around these parts?" She inquired her gaze flickering up as her paw touched the water's surface. She'd start with simple questions to get to know a bit about him then move on to quizzing him to decide if he was the one. If he was the prince she had been searching for.
--
"Oh... Do you need help finding your way home?"
Melhor looked concerned, ears pricked forward until she spoke again. His ears flicked, returning to attention, and he prepared to answer.
"Close, but I live very, very close." He looked over his shoulder. "Southeast, actually."
He looked back to her, smiling again.
--
At her question she thought about it. If she accepted his help she would get to spend more time with him, get to know him a little better. But at the same time she didn't want to return to her homelands, especially if meant spending endless days of boredom and waiting. She simply could not have that.
"Ah no, I'm not lost. At least I don't think I am. I actually recently left home."
She told him wondering if he would ask her why. A part of her hoped he did. When he answered her question her smile broadened. "Really? What's it like?" She asked tilting her head to the side obviously very interested.

Melhor blinked. Left... Home? He couldn't think of why anyone would, but what if there was a problem here....?
"Why.. did you leave?" He looked worried. Getting another question, he had to think.
"Home...? Well, there's space... And we certainly have room for more.... There's a lot of grassland area...But the river's a lovely place."
He shrugged. Not everyone liked changes in terrain.
--
Bingo! He had taken the bait. Perfect!
"Well the pride I'm from is mostly made up by people that I am related to. I felt a little...." She trailed off lifting the paw that had been playing with the water's surface to tap her chin. "Crowded. Not to mention it's also kind of secluded. I couldn't very well find what I was...." She trailed off eyes widening as she registered the information that she had practically told him that she was looking for something, or rather someone.
No, no, no!
This was not good. Not good at all.
"I have this dream...a dream that I'd really like to come true but I got tired of waiting and decided to venture out and find what I need to complete that dream myself." She told him quickly deciding that it was a nice cover, even if it wasn't very far from the truth.
"Grasslands? I think laying in the grass is very peaceful and relaxing. Almost romantic don't you?" She asked glad to change subjects. "River's are always so beautiful."
--
Melhor looked thoughtful, then shrugged.
"I don't know, honestly. I don't have anyone." Melhor seemed contemplative.
"I honestly never thought about it much before."
--
At his statement she frowned her brow creasing as she went over his words in her mind. "I'm sorry to hear that." She told him wanting to cross the pond to touch him lightly upon the shoulder. "Maybe that will change soon?" She asked trying to place subtle hints for him to possibly pick up on.
She was interested now more than ever. "If...no when you find your special someone what do you imagine it'll be like?" She asked tilting her head to the side as she studied his expressions. It was certainly proving to be a productive day for her. With every question she asked, with every answer he gave she found herself being pulled closer and closer to deeming him it.
--
Melhor looked thoughtful.
"Well..."
He hummed, thinking about a response, surprised at the questions.
"If I do, I'd rather it be someone forever..." He sighed. "I want to make sure they'll be safe and loved and happy. I don't want them to hurt...."
He looked upwards.
"I want someone who doesn't mind if I'm not perfect."
--
Jipima heart fluttered in her chest when she heard him speak. His words sounded so sincere not like he was simply trying to impress her. His answer was so sweet she couldn't help but sigh dreamily. "Y'know any girl would be lucky to have you." She commented sinking to her belly.
"When you love someone you love them for them, faults included." She stated tilting her head back to gaze at the same sky he had been looking at. "To them their perfect. I want a romance that takes my breath away. One that doesn't need fancy things to keep it strong. Simple gifts and little whispers of I love you are all I'd need."
--
Melhor smiled, looking up.
"Maybe, maybe one day we'll find what we need..."
He seemed to get an idea.
"You know, maybe you can find someone where I live.... I mean.."
He chuckled sheepishly, looking to her.
"No one there is related to you...."
--
"Maybe I've found what I already need." She replied getting back up and moving around the side of the small pond to get closer to him. She felt so bold and so skittish at the same time. This was the first time she had actually gotten close enough to another, learned enough to think that they were who she really wanted.
In the past she flirted simply for the entertainment and the possibility that the one before her could maybe be what she was looking for. However always in the early stages she knew they weren't it and just continued to play along to humor them. Now it was different.
"If I asked you to be my prince would you?"
She had only know how him for such a short period of time but she didn't care. She felt like she had found exactly what she wanted.
--
Melhor blinked, and looked thoughtful, before nodding.
"If.. you want..."
He would blush if he could. He also was a little awkward at the surprise, looking somewhat shyly at his toes.
--
"I think I'd like it very much." Jipima replied smiling warmly at the dark colored male. "Of course, only if you want it." She added not wanting to force Melhor into taking the title only because he was kind and polite. She wanted him to accept it because it was what he wanted and not just because she wanted it. "If not I don't mind. After all we haven't known each other for very long but...."

Melhor smiled.
"I don't mind. We can get to know each other, in the very least." He flicked his tail, nudging her gently with his muzzle.
--
Happiness was evident in the way she now held herself as well as the sparkle in her eye. She returned his nudge with a very light nuzzle not wanting to interfere with his boundaries too quickly. Even if he had accepted her there was still a lot for her to learn about him. "I'm glad..." She stated before softly adding. "My prince."
